Video rolling, rolling, rolling, rolling. The most important piece of advice I give to TEDx speakers is to honor the idea. Because when you do that, everything else falls into place. You are willing to push the idea, to refine it even further so that it's as crisp and clean and clear as it can be. Second, you're willing to find new ways to talk about that idea, to find new stories, new structures around it so that it's as engaging and as interesting as it can be. And finally, when you honor the idea, it's a lot easier to forget how nervous you are, how many people are standing out there. It allows you to put everything you need out on stage, to be open, to be honest, to be vulnerable. And that is everything that not only the idea needs, but the audience needs too.
