Meet Joy Luck Trio: a piano, pipa, and erhu trio!

when I was a little girl, it was the first time I heard both the erhu and the pipa. And this is what I told them. I said, the pipa makes me feel like there's just burst of light. It's brilliant. And it gives me so much excitement. And that's really what it's like because of the plucking, even though it's a lot of plucking. I know that, that, uh, Gao Hong says, oh, it's too much plucking, but the plucking is that sparkle and it creates so many different colors. And the arhu is that soul, is that incredible depth, the singing soul. So together, and then hopefully with The Piano Pod with Yukimi Song, that has a broad range of warmth, as we all know, and, and, and color, I think that this will be something— it'll create a new sound world that people will really, really gravitate towards because we've got— we covered the stories, the emotions, and the color.
