Through my life and through my career, the passion never changed. It's always, of course, the music, right? And but maybe the mission keeps changing a little bit through, through the decades of my career. And I would say when I was younger, I was more focused in performing and performing pieces that, you know, they were not common pieces to perform. You know, now everybody is performing unrepresented composers and so on, but I was doing this 30 years ago.
In our upcoming episode, Beyond Borders: From Argentina to Poland to Texas, we welcome Steinway artist and renowned piano pedagogue Dr. Oscar Macchioni. Together, we explore everything from tango as a universal concert genre within piano literature to audience engagement, artistic labels, and the dangers of preconceived ideas that continue to shape modern piano performance and pedagogy. We also discuss composers such as Carl Schmannowski and William Balkom in depth throughout the conversation.
We need to go to the communities. I mean, you know, this is not a new concept, by the way. This is a concept that many artists, many orchestras are doing. I think we just need to do it more, but also we need to program accordingly to them. If we change a little bit the optics of why we do what we I think that music, classical music, will always be relevant.
This episode premieres tomorrow, Tuesday, May 19th, at 8:00 PM Eastern Time on our YouTube channel, with the audio episode released simultaneously across all major podcast platforms. See you tomorrow.
