Chapters

Being a classical musician or performer, it is a dream come true. It's one of those very, very gratifying jobs because you get to affect people on a large scale every time you perform. Our missions, at least for myself, it is to affect people, whether it is emotionally, whether it's spiritually, whether they have a spiritual experience after it. It takes years of study to develop the gift. It takes how many different generations of people, and when you have that responsibility on your shoulders, it's almost as if it's a duty to share that with everybody else. When you step on a stage, it's a perfect opportunity to share what composers wrote and their feelings, and it's almost as if you have a duty to do right by them. I guess show people this rich genre. And that's, I guess, something I've been trying to ponder with for a long time. The answer that I'm coming to is just to try and give a very, very pure performance, and hopefully, maybe they will just be exposed to it and somehow fall in love with it the same way we do.
