Music has this ability to take us outside of what we are very rapidly if we wanted to, but I think that people are not in that mindset that they can actually just be willing to receive and move outside of what they are. I need to understand my audiences, I need to understand where they're at, then I need to very carefully decide how am I going to move them outside of where they are just enough that they can experience something new. What happened to our sense of duty and responsibility? I better make sure that I understand what I'm doing before I do that.
