Franz Liszt is really my favorite. Just the sheer amount of works that you can explore and the amount of different styles that all of those compositions encompass. You can also look at his transcriptions. I mean, Liszt transcribed stuff from Bach preludes and fugues for organ to completely free fantasies on Bach works, to things that are like multi-stylistic, like this Handel transcription, things based on popular tunes, like a ridiculous amount of variety. Really experimental works. So with Franz Liszt, you're just never going to run out of repertoire ideas. At some point, you have to really think, how do I want to play this composition? Or, you know, what do I want to play and why am I picking it? At least I think when, when you get to the point where you can play what you want and how you want, I think that's already a very— that's already a win. Early training is based on restriction. What not to do, and you also learn by imitation. That's a very good thing up to a certain point. When you're finally given a completely free pass to do whatever you want, what are you going to do?
That's, that's an interesting—
when you get to that point, that's pretty interesting. What are you going to pick? How are you going to play it and why?
You know, with the accessibility in technology and you'll be able to do if you are willing to do this, take this path.
No, yes, absolutely. You have to, you have to be completely behind it, and then you can't back down. Once you go for it, you go for it. You know something, when I started investing my own money into this, I started playing better. Really, it's, it's like a really bad thing to say, but it's like, no, when your own money is on the line, you are absolutely going to prepare to your best ability so you can create your pathway It's so awesome.
