Rick Lau discusses why clinicians avoid follow-up calls and how to reframe them. The key: stop thinking of calls as sales and start treating them as catching patients who fall off the system. Positioning healthcare itself as the problem, not the patient, builds buy-in.

Hey everybody. I get this question a lot. How do you get your clinician to do follow up calls consistently? Check out this episode.
Like, this comes up a lot. Like I and everything everybody wrote in the chat, salesly uncomfortable and bugging people, rejection.
What I like to do is, is like have a common enemy, okay?
And that's what I wrote in the chat. The common enemy is the system.
These people.
We're in a system that tells people you only have 500 bucks on your.
Health and that's all you should spend, right?
Or like, and these same people will go buy like a PS5 or buy.
Like spend $250 at $200 at dinner, right?
So like that is why we have to do fall off calls. Because the system is working against them.
We have to fight the system, right? To get people to commit, okay?
Because it's designed not for them to succeed.
Okay?
So like I want to pick this.
Common enemy, which is the healthcare system, all right?
I even tell a clinician, like, whose.
Idea was it to tie your health to your work? Like, what a scam? Like, oh, if you only have a.
Job, you have benefits, you can get help for your healthcare. Like, no, like we have to fight that. We have to fight medications. We have to fight this thing. Like they give you medications. Like I get amped up.
I said that's why everybody falls off, right?
So we have to have a net.
We have to catch them, right?
And if they don't believe in that, it's going to be very hard to get them to do fault calls because of some process. Right? They have to have an internal belief.
That we're in a society where it's like very. It's like your house has a limit, right?
And it's 500 bucks.
Yeah, right. So I mean, I like, I like that common enemy.
