30 Jan 2026 · 2 min
Podcast episode (Clinic Boss Secrets, host Rick Lau) featuring coach Sarosh demonstrating a 7-minute group interview activity: give candidates supplies, ask them to "build the tallest tower" in seven minutes, then observe interactions. The exercise is used to evaluate initiative, engagement, teamwork, social positivity, supportiveness, body language, and who volunteers to explain their work during debrief. The clip is instructional for clinic hiring (admins, managers, clinicians).

Check it out in the group activity. This is the tower building like we talked about. We'll just let them do their thing, we'll give the supplies and we're just going to say, hey, build the tallest.
Tower you can in seven minutes.
And you don't say anything else. Then this is where we start to.
Really the observation of the, how the.
Interaction is and a few things that I'm trying to really, really look for is who's active, who's engaged, who's taking initiative, who is social and positive overall, who is supporting the team.
And I'm trying to make notes because.
These are some of the qualities that.
I want to look for in a pec, front desk admin or a manager as well.
For sure.
A manager, right. But in a PC setting, since we're talking a little bit more about PCs, I want to make sure that we have a good amount of information about them as a person. And these are some of the things you can pick up when it comes to the group.
Group interview side.
Right.
And then once complete. Again, I don't, I don't say group one, go first, group to go first. I just make it more general because I want to see who's going to.
Be taking initiative, who's going to be chatting, who's going to be supporting all.
Those things we talked about.
Just in those points of what to watch.
I'll say, okay, who wants to go first? Who's going to explain their tower? And then. And you can start to look at.
Interaction with their people, looking at their.
Body language, how they're essentially facing the.
Person talking, how they're facing us.
There's a lot of information you can.
