Rick Lau explains why clinic managers need weekly one-on-one meetings with directors and owners. Regular check-ins prevent operational problems, improve communication, and support clinic growth.

Hey everybody. Rick Lau here. In this episode we're going to talk about why you need to have one on one meetings with your team regularly, every single week. Check out this episode with Daryl and Yuri where I talk about how this is critical if you actually want to grow your business. So Yuri, I'm actually curious as well. From, from your perspective, where would you say some of the PMs that you've had in the program, like in collaboration with their, you know, working with, knowing some of their owners, where their success has been? What are the success stories you can tell us?
Absolutely. I think this was touched on earlier as well. But the number one thing is communication. So the PEMs who do have those weekly meetings with either the CD, the clinic director or the owners are the ones that I see the most success with because not only do they know the big picture operations of the clinic, now the clinic director and the owner is also aware of all the little things that are kind of going on, whether it's with the front, whether it's with the clinician's schedule, whether it's what the patients are looking for. But if that level of communication, like a weekly or at the very least bi weekly one on one isn't there, that's when things start slipping through the cracks. Because if you don't meet with your PM or like whoever is a leader at the front desk, like regularly, then one thing that happened, let's say on April 1st might not get targeted until like May 2nd or something. And at that point it's too late. Maybe you lost a total funnel of assessments and now you're losing out on assessments every week because there was this one tiny operational thing that should have been brought up a month ago, but it was missed because you don't have that level of communication. And same thing goes with the PEM, with the PCs as well. I had one clinic of ours that doesn't have a monthly team meeting and doesn't have the weekly one on ones and it was so difficult to get all the team members on the same board when new policies, procedures or operations were introduced. Because the Slack announcement is one thing. You can put anything on slack and say, hey guys, we have this new document. Check it out, put it into place. But if there's no follow up with that, you're not going to be seeing any kind of results with that either.
