Face Your Inner Demons: Unlock Your Destiny Now!

Welcome to the Soul of Innovation podcast. I am Thomas Anglero, and let me ask you a question. Do you face your inner demons? Seriously, do you face nose to nose your inner demons. Let me tell you a story. Those damn inner demons show up in our lives so much at moments that we really don't want them to do it— to show up. Sorry. Do you recall a time when you wanted to do something that you know you weren't supposed to do? You was with someone that you weren't supposed to be with, You had your hands into something that you weren't supposed to steal, that you were about to get away with something, blame someone who you knew was innocent. And yet a voice inside of you, an image of your past appeared. You saw your inner demon. You saw your inner child and you ignored it. I've had this come up so many times, and, and maybe not with the examples of that I just gave, but let me give you one example. Many years ago, when Bitcoin was $1. I didn't invest, and I was supposed to. And I sat at my computer and I just didn't put the button— push the button. One week later, I was at a dinner at a school, at a university, and And I gave a presentation before the dinner, and at the dinner I'm sitting there, and one of the students who attended the presentation came up to me and said, Thomas, fantastic presentation. You talked a lot about crypto, you talked, uh, and you inspired me. He goes, I don't have that much money, I'm a student, uh, I bought a bunch of Ethereum. Ethereum is a cryptocurrency, a crypto token actually. And he says, what should I do? It only— at that moment, that day when he was talking to me, Ethereum costs— I think it was around 2 cents per token, Ethereum token. And I looked at him, he goes, but I missed the Bitcoin wave and Ethereum is all I could afford. And I looked at him and I said Don't you ever sell. And he asked me, why? It's only 2 cents, it's not worth anything. I go, that's your gift for your grandchildren. When your grandchildren are born, that Ethereum will be worth so much money that you'll be able to take care of them and their grandchildren and their grandchildren. Today, as I record this, Ethereum is at $2,500 per token. He bought at 2 cents. He walked away from me smiling. He felt— he says he could see— he felt that he was this— he was a genius for having bought at 2 cents. He felt he was a genius for having seen something that other people didn't see. I kept on eating my— he walked away. I kept on eating my meal, and I thought to myself, am I going to go home and buy Ethereum now since I've just told him, and I predicted massively accurately, that Ethereum will be worth thousands of dollars in the future? So what am I going to do about it? At that moment, my inner demon came out. And when my inner demon came out, was it came out in the form of me as a little child in a fetal position, scared as hell. And that damn vision of that inner child in the fetal position, scared to hell, always comes out at moments that I know that I'm scared of making a massive decision that could change my life. And because of that moment, that inner child, because of that vision, it scares me. To do nothing. What is your inner demon? What is that vision of you that comes up in your mind at moments that you don't want it to come up, that either propels you to do something you don't want to do or in my case, holds me back from doing something that I am meant to do. Who is your inner demon? It's taken me years to think about this. It's taken me my whole life to this moment to openly talk about this. But once we— I want you conquer— you admit to yourself that you do have an inner demon, and you know what he or she looks like, or it looks like. It could be not even an image of yourself. It could be a picture of your father, or it could be a picture of your other, or it could be a song. It is a trigger that calls your bull in that moment and wakes you up to whatever reality you were in in that moment and realize that what you're about to steal, or who you're about to touch, or the decision you're about to make is profoundly going to change your entire life, your entire existence, is going to redefine you. You will be lost from this moment on after you make this decision, if it's the wrong one or if it's the right one. I am not sure. I did not go home and buy Ethereum that day. I am not sure if I did go home and buy Ethereum that day and I would have all that money, if that was the right or wrong choice. Who knows the outcome? But I do know that that inner voice, that inner demon, that the next time he shows up, or the next time I show up my inner child I am not going to hesitate because for me I've understood the code. And this is what's important for you to understand. There is a code when the inner demon shows up. There's a code when that voice, that song, that sound, that image shows up. And this is how you hack it. This is the whole point I'm trying to get to. You face this, you've seen this inner demon before. It has shown up in your life before. And this is the hard part. Yes, it's going to be hard to remember those moments because nobody wants to go back to that. You probably didn't want to do what you did and all that stuff, or you're embarrassed to think that you didn't do anything at all and that you missed that promotion, you missed that opportunity, you wanted that trip, a million different things. But go back to those moments. What was it that happened? You didn't raise your hand, or You did spend time with someone you were not supposed to spend time with. Whatever it was, the moment that inner— your inner demon showed up, look at that moment and then look at the decision you made. And there's the hack. Now you know, every time the inner demon shows up, the decision you made in the past So when that inner demon shows up in your life, you always do, or whenever that inner demon shows up, you always don't do. Some people, when the demon shows up, they go, the hell with it, I'm going to take that candy. The hell with it, I'm going to take credit for that idea that I know is her idea over there. That's your experience. So now you know, the next time that inner demon shows up If you're about to steal somebody's idea, you now know that that didn't work out for you. So the next time the inner demon shows up, you're not going to steal the idea. You're not going to do anything because your inner demon in the past has not prevented you from doing. So the hack is, the next time your inner demon shows up, You don't do it. You do the opposite. Because I realize that the inner demon is telling you that if you do the opposite of what you're about to do, you're about to receive your destiny and achieve your destiny and greater happiness than you ever could before. That's a very profound thought. Everything that you regret, or everything that you didn't act on, or everything that you did act on, that if you had done the opposite, you would have a different life than you have today. There's the cheat code. Embrace your inner demon. He or she or it is telling you that the wonderful part of life is not here in what you're about to do, but it's here and what you should do. Go forth and spread beauty and light. Embrace, hug, and thank your inner demon, because at the end of the day You'll never see your inner demon as a, as a demon, but you'll see it as an angel. It will help you and guide you, and that's what it's been doing your whole life. That's why it shows up when you don't want it to show up. That's why it shows up when you have to make huge decisions, because it's been there to guide you. And only now, once you embrace it and love it and take care of it, you're actually embracing and loving yourself. Does that angel guide you to where you're supposed to be and what you deserve?
