Welcome to the Soul of Innovation podcast. I'm Thomas Anglero, and I'm reflecting on all the changes that are happening in life, and you're feeling it. Have you ever felt as uncomfortable as you feel right now? You're going through things now that you haven't experienced before. Things you took for granted are no longer the same. Am I right? Life is different now. 1 1 doesn't really equal 2 the same way. Maybe the clothes that you have on don't feel the same way. Maybe the people that you've been with don't treat you the same way. Maybe the person you've loved who has loved you doesn't love you in the same way. You know, in this time period of your life, you're gonna feel really lonely. You're going to be uncomfortable with that loneliness. A lot of you— well, not a lot of you, but you probably don't like being alone. You don't like being alone with your thoughts. You don't like that feeling of discomfort. And yet, those moments when you're alone with your thoughts, there's no outside noise and people influencing you. There's no social media, right? No mobile phone messing with your head. How often is it that you pick up the phone and put on social media just to distract you, or just to get input, or just something? The secret to get through with the, the feeling that you're going through, the time period you're going through in your life, is just spend time with you. And what I mean by that is Try to clear that mind. Try to be only with you, only your thoughts. Don't think about anybody at work, don't think about anybody at school. Be you. And if it's been a long time since the last time you've been you, then you sort of disrespected yourself. I'm sure there's a time period earlier, you know, when you were younger, they spent a lot of time with you. You didn't mind being alone. You could go out for a walk. You would, uh, maybe even go to the movie by yourself. Do you do those things today, or do you have to have the TV on? Do you have to have a friend on the phone? Do you have to constantly external input. The reason why life is so hard right now is because you, you've ignored yourself and you have not— you've separated yourself from who you really are. And the way to find out who you really are is just to be in the moment and be yourself, the whoever, whatever, whoever that is. And it could be extremely uncomfortable, extremely uncomfortable. The most uncomfortable part is this, I'll tell you right now, If I did it now, it's kind of boring on video, but if I just did nothing— like people say meditate. The reason why people say meditate is boring and doesn't do anything for them, because they're used to that external input. But meditation, or just doing nothing, is not boring because you're spending time with you. You're giving yourself a hug. That's not boring. It's what you need. It's what you need desperately. In this difficult period of your life, to prosper and to be happy again at an elevated level. Get comfortable with just you. Get comfortable with your thoughts. Get comfortable hearing your voice. Get comfortable with Friday night is just you. Saturday's just you. Sunday's just you. And Monday's the glowing you. Spending time with you is not a jail sentence. Spending time alone isn't something to be embarrassed about. When you go to work or you meet with friends or you go to some group thing and people say, what did you do? And you go, I just spent time with myself. The people in that group that hear that, they get it, or go, you're lucky. Damn, you're lucky. Some people have kids and diapers and running all over the place, 2, 3, 4, 5 jobs, unemployment. A job from hell that pays them very little but demands from them everything. They have no time for themselves. When they get to bed at night, they don't have time to meditate. They just need to sleep. Their body hurts, their back, their shoulder. They're in pain. Their soul is hurting. Is your soul hurting? If it is, go for a walk. No headset, no sunglasses. Let the sun hit your eyes, hit your pupils. Just be. Find a park bench, or if you're in a city, find a bench anywhere. And just sit. Watch the pigeons. If you're in a forest, watch the leaves. Just be. Just be. It won't fix your problems, but it will reset you from this external thing to this loving thing that can handle problems and doesn't feel life is intense, but it's like, I got this, you got this. Go forth and spread beauty and light. Spend time in silence. Spend time doing nothing. It's the best time of your day. I'm Thomas Anglero. I love you. I believe in you. And you is all you have. Take care of you. Until next time.
