Edit and Delete Contacts in MoxiEngage / Quick Tip

Tom Pelton walks through editing and deleting contacts in Moxi Engage while covering TCPA compliance. You need recent consent to call, must check DNC lists if permission is stale, and face personal liability for automated calls or texts. In the platform, edit contact fields via People > My People, or remove contacts by selecting them and choosing a reason like Invalid or Cold.

We appreciate you being here since this program is optional and discusses best practices for your consideration. If you are thinking of adopting any of them, please make sure to review the requirements in your area region with your broker, branch manager, or manager, including those related to contacting consumers. We do want to highlight the importance of the Telephone Consumer Protection act, better known as tcpa. The general rules are that it's okay to call people if the person recently gave you their phone number, but remember to check the DNC lists regularly if they haven't spoken to that person in a while. You will also want to check the DNC list anytime you don't have permission. Automated calling texting platforms should never be used. Pre recorded messages in artificial voices should never be used. You will be personally liable for any violations of the tcpa. We'll mention the TCPA a few times throughout this presentation.
If you need to make edits to a contact within your Moxie Engage platform, you will want to go into your People My People section. Once you have gotten into your My People section, you can easily use the search option to search for that specific contact that you need to make edits to. When you type in the name of the contact, you will see some suggested results. You can then select the contact that you want to start working on to make edits to that contact. You'll want to click on their name that will take us over to the contact's profile. In the Profile section you will be able to click Edit. Within the Edit section you can edit the person's name, their language preference, phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses, instant messaging relationships, dates, personal profile, social media and other. You'll want to click into the specific field that you are trying to make edits to enter in the required information. Once you have made those edits, make sure you click Done. Once that has saved, you will be taken back to the Contacts profile and that means that this information has now saved and you'll be able to tell because you will now be able to see that information within their specific fields here. If you need to remove a contact or delete a contact from your Moxie Engage dashboard, you'll want to also go into your People My People section. Just like we did before, we can easily search for that contact's information within the filter or search section of your My People, you'll start typing in the name of the specific person that you're trying to remove from your Moxie Engage. You'll go ahead and click on that client's name and to delete this client, you'll want to select or check this box here next to their name. Once you've made that selection, you'll see that you are now able to click on Remove. Once you click on Remove, you'll be required to select a reason as to why it is that you're removing this person from your Moxie Engage. Within this drop down section, you'll be able to select from Invalid, Cold, Undesired, or Other. Once you select your Contact category, you'll go ahead and click Remove. You'll then receive this message saying that one person or the number of people you've selected have now been removed from your Moxi Engage. You still have the ability to restore these contacts by using the Engage Settings menu, and that would be via your Moxi Engage Settings gear.
