Cool! Let's, uh, but first let's walk over here because I want to show you this really cool thing at the library that just was installed by the city. And, uh, Downtown Merchants Council has worked really hard on this with the city to get this done., and it's a new program coming up. But while we are walking, there's the new federal courthouse is right over here, and you have to look at this because they put dichroic glass on the building, and I'm hoping that the camera will pick up the sparkling beautiful glass because dichroic glass is wicked to play with and it makes beautiful stuff. But this piece is huge. Well, I guess it's panels. What it looks like is panels. So check this out. By the way, while we're talking on our way over here to see this, please remember to like us and share us on Facebook, and if you want to comment or talk to us, please do. We'd love to say hi, and we're waiting for Dennis from Seattle. Where are you? Dennis probably abandoned us because we haven't been here for a couple weeks. This is cool.
Pickle.
Okay, so this is a beautiful new meter, and it— I don't know all of the exacts on this, but this meter is one of several. There'll be like 6 meters in town, and they are the same meters that you get to use for parking out on the streets. They take credit cards or change, and the program— you can stop by any of these blue meters and put in your spare change or use your credit card and donate money, and it actually helps the homeless program here in Tucson, Arizona. And it's a— yeah, it's really cool. Well, what I know— how does it work?
Thank you, Vanna.
What I know is, is that it actually helps feed them and clothe them and get them money by a new work program where they pay them an hourly wage to work if they want to during the day. They can volunteer to work and they don't have to pay taxes on the money, and it's a really cool program. And these things, with your help and your kindness and your generosity, these are probably going to bring 20,000 to 30,000 expected monies into these programs to help these folks every year. So if If you're near downtown Tucson, if you're in the area and you run into a blue meter, please dig deep into your pockets, get rid of the change, or give your credit card and give them some money. Every penny counts, and that's what these are here for. And I'm really excited that they did this. And it says right in front, "Help end homelessness." Yes, and feed the hungry in our community, provide jobs and training, and provide clothing and essentials, water and food. I mean, We have to just be so thankful in our lives for everything we have, and this is one great way we can give back. So please notice the light blue and— well, they're kind of blue-green. They're cool meters. Right.
They're blue.
Cool. You want to stay here? Let's stay here and talk about what's coming around Tucson for fun things to do.
Okay.
Yeah? Is that noise going to drive you crazy, James? Actually, we could back up a little bit, right? Come this way, and then we won't drive James. And our shadow is okay? No, it's okay.
I'm stepping in front of the door.
It's all about the lighting. Do I look good? Do I look 20 years younger? Stop. We do have a— so the Cuesta House, which is the brand new construction that we have shown a couple times, has gone into escrow before we even finished it. So we are going to premiere it next week to let everybody see it because it's a really wicked house. And the builder, architect, the architect is designing a second one already for the fall, and we want you to know about that. So we're gonna show you what he did on the first one. And we also have another one from a different builder coming up. We're gonna list it soon, but if you wanted to know or get in the know on it— Mercado. Yeah, very close to downtown in the Mercado. I'm super excited about that one too. But if they wanna know about it, you can call us, and we can talk to you about it first before it's in the middle of construction, and it's going to be like 1,600 square foot, 3-bedroom, 2-bath with high ceilings. So we're going to talk about, we're going to show you that one too soon, but if you want to know in advance about it, we can sell it prior, right? Okay, and then James, can I help you?
I'm good.
We're having complications. James is all tied up.
Okay.
There you go. So we lost sound.
Well, it stopped, um, stopped feeding, I think. I couldn't see the BU anymore.
Okay.
So just in case.
So we're back on sound, hopefully you can hear us. We'll just stand closer.
So just so you know, um, if you need more information on any of the things that we've been talking about today, go to—
I know, I'm not seeing some signs. I'm getting— Okay, so a little foggy.
Yeah, we've been on vacation. Exactly. So see, with more information on—
see TucsonHomes.com. We'll post it on this Facebook thread so you can go right to the website. Of course, any of the events we talked about are there, and under the thread here too, we'll post stuff about houses that we talked about and things like that. Okay, great. You were super excited about the flats.
Yeah.
Uh-oh.
And then we're talking about the flats. Okay, so I need You may not know this, but Morana has a movie night, which we talked about before. Every month they have a movie night, and tonight is Lego night, right? So they're probably going to be showing The Lego Movie. But the cool thing is that I just found out that this is part of their Camping Under the Stars series. So at 2 o'clock today, you can go to the park with a tent and then you can camp out there. So take the kids, take the family, go. No, I don't think you can take dogs or animals because that's probably dangerous. So don't do that. Um, read the website, it's on ours. So you just go to Seachessunhomes.com, you can click there from our calendar. But, uh, the camping under the stars is going to allow you to take a tent and food, and then everybody barbecues together for dinner, right? So you bring your own food, then they show the movie around 7, I think 7-ish. You'll have to read our calendar for that too. Um, and then they show The Lego Movie and everybody gets to watch the movie outside. And they have a vendor, I heard, that actually has like, um, movie stuff like popcorn and snacks and stuff. So that's very cool. And then you sleep, lights are out around 11, and everybody goes and makes memes. That's my word.
Memes.
Makes memes. And then tomorrow morning on Sunday, you have to, uh, you pack up your stuff and you're out by noon. And They have a vendor like that serves coffee or something in the mornings. Oh yeah, they have a breakfast. I don't know if it's food, but I know there's coffee involved, which is really cool. So, um, what a cool thing just to take a little overnight vacation if you just want to get away and go throw a tent and have fun. Plus it's a practice camping, and it's practice camping. So yes, so that's Morana's movie night, and it is also called Camping Under the Stars, and it is on our website on today's date. And then that will give you all the other movies and dates and times that we have as well.
Okay?
That seems good. Now, now— Now you can talk. What's the flash? The flash is that it's coming.
DC.
Oh, is it DC? So, and he's an expert. He's DC comic. Whatever James says, he's like, it's like, but that's not what The Flash is. So you know how we have a pop-up bar in, um, downtown right now? It's called the Pop-Up Bar, and, uh, it's called, uh, it's temporary. It's going to go away. Uh, it's there for the summer to And it's got furry walls just like in the movie Good Will Hunting. You can have the furry walls. And that's down here in downtown Tucson.
It's beautiful.
That is the Martin Joe Company's pop-up bar, right? The Flash is of the same concept. Wait for it. It is a building and they will do a pop-up market today. And I believe it starts at 9 and, uh, it goes till 4. So you only get from 9 to 4 and it's only opening today, and it's a whole concept of local goods for sale. There's a flower shop, coffee shop, gathering space. I believe there's music. It's a pop-up entire market.
Wow. So find it on the website.
I don't see it.
Find it on the website.
Yeah, so go to seetucsonhomes.com, look it up on today's calendar date, and, um, you'll see the flash. And it is not a person, it is a pop-up market. And if you get to go— we are working today, so sadly we're not gonna get to see this, uh, most likely. But if you get to go, could you please come back to this thread and tell me what it was like and take pictures and put them on this thread for me so I get to see? Please, please, because I would love to see. I'd like to see what they did. I think it's a really cool, cool concept.
Let's say hi to Kenny Parker and thank you for the likes. He just gave us a bunch of likes.
Thanks for the likes.
Yeah.
Tony Ray Baker, yay!
So there's also a music festival going on. 12th Avenue Music Festival. Yeah, and that is today and tomorrow from 12 to 8. So if you're gonna go to the Flash pop-up market and you want to do the Morana thing tonight, you could go to the 12th Avenue Music Festival there tomorrow.
Food, art, science, bands, games, and more.
Thank you.
All types of stuff.
I have not been to that one, but I heard it's pretty— uh, riot is fun. That's how it was described to me. The word riot is— that's a tomorrow thing. Yeah. Okay, I can take over.
It's okay.
Just, will you send me pictures and put them on the thread on Facebook so I can live through you vicariously through everybody else? Please post your photos on this thread. Um, next week, May 25th through the 28th, I found some stuff and it's on our calendars. Um, yeah, on the 25th you can do— go ahead and show them your air guitar.
I missed it. One more time.
Do it again.
I'm not gonna get it. I didn't get it.
This is the problem with you.
You gotta watch it again.
Rewind this video and watch him do that. It's the Led Zeppelin cover. Band is in town.
There's— yeah, yeah.
So that'll be a nice night. The nights right now are amazing. Coming back from Prague, we thought the weather was good there. Oh my God, here it's stunning. Um, so really nice. Then there's also a jazz concert series, which I love. Like, where this is, it's at Main Gate. Yeah, so there's that really cool little park at Main Gate.
Students are gone.
All the good ones that are in and summer school are here doing their extra studies. Yeah, kudos to all of you out there getting double majors. So the Jazz Concert Series starts around 7:30, I believe, and you'll look it up on our site, of course. Silk and Soul is playing tonight. I'm going to the space later. And don't forget, when you're down there, there's free parking at the Tingle Garage for the Jazz Concert Series. And I'm lying to you, that's on Friday nights, right? So that's 26th. Friday nights is jazz concert. So look on the calendar, it'll give you the people playing on Friday nights. If you partake in alcohol and beverages, I highly recommend you walk right into a place called Pasto, and it's a little cute white place right next to there, and get the best margarita I've ever had. It's called the Father Pino, right? Fado, you know? Oh my God, that's a good margarita.
It is good.
Um, also next week starts up with Tucson Swirls. I guess it's already started.
Baseball.
Don't forget, we want you to know Tucson Swirls baseball. This is where you go and sit at the full rides and you get to eat hot dogs, nachos. It gives you the excuse to eat bad food and like hang out with your girlfriend.
But if you jump up and down and cheer enough, you can burn off all those calories.
Sometimes we need a place to go where no one will judge us for eating crappy food, right? We just all have to do it. Then there's another interesting show coming up.
Saved by the '90s.
Saved by the '90s. So I don't know much about this, so look at our website. It'll give you all the information. It apparently is touring the entire United States. It has been doing it for years, so if you've gone there, you know what it is. Again, if you you go, I would really, really appreciate it if you can post some photos on this thread or just send them to me on Facebook and say, dude, we were there, you weren't, or whatever. But I would like to see what this looks like.
And Saved by the '90s is going to be on the 27th.
Yes, which is right here in downtown. It's just back there. So again, the whole Arts Way, pretend if you could look through this wall, it's over there. Right there. Okay, just pretend you can see that. Yeah, so that's really wicked cool. Uh, I, it's— I guess it's like '90s music and in a warehouse and, uh, everybody dresses— what's— what's '90s look like? I mean, seriously, I feel— I think everybody was wearing black yesterday, right?
It's got stuff—
wasn't everybody wearing black?
Grunge style?
No, I feel like I'm still wearing— Hey, we're almost dressed the same, dude.
No, I am. I'm a very tasteful, flat—
I'm stripes, and I'm probably messing up the whole thing because it's like wavy, wavy. You guys, um, we have anything else for you? So, uh, I'm Tony Ray Baker.
I'm Gary Jones, military and civil REALTOR®.
Yeah, you guys, we help you buy and sell houses, and we appreciate you, and we're back to torment you on Saturdays again. We're gonna try to go live a little more now on some other days and start— houses under $250,000 have been selling so quickly that we can't even get you video feed because they sell before we even get out there. And so we're gonna try another route to get in before they go on the market so you can get some video on these guys and show some of these cool houses.
Because we're here for you.
Yes. Yeah.
You need to be on our list. We have, uh, by the way, the insight on 3 or 4 brand new homes coming up near downtown. So if you are interested, uh, call us and we will go over those with you. And we have all the maps and plans, by the way, of everything happening down here. So we'd love to sit down with you at the office in downtown Tucson and show you all the fun stuff that's going to happen and what's going on. Yeah, and then, um, we can do lunch. I don't, I don't have a ticket because I've been out and about.
Okay, do you have a ticket?
No, but I'm going to take over here.
I'm going to show you guys something. Look over here.
I'm going with you, buddy.
Planter right in front of the library here. Yeah, these are nasturtiums. Okay, this is the—
oh my gosh, it's blooming!
This is the flower of the nasturtium. Can you see that? Okay. And the leaves, by the way, you can plant these in your yard. They're not crazy about the heat, but keep them a little bit shade, a little bit cool.
Like under a tree.
You can put these in your salad. Their flowers and the leaves are edible, and they have a little bit of a peppery flavor. So garden tip.
Garden tip. Nice.
Garden tip.
Hey, so like under your mesquite tree or something, those would go great.
Yeah.
Hey, that is a great garden tip. Maybe you can watch the video.
Garden.
Uh, you're a bonsai master and— bonsai! So you're very, uh, into all of that, so maybe you should just be—
cool. And there's a lot of cool stuff around town to show up and talk about. Appreciate happen from—
that's why we go on vacation, come up with new ideas. All right, I'm Tony Ray Baker. Have a fantastic weekend. Call us if you need anything. Please post, like, share, do all that fun stuff below on the internet. And I want to see pictures if you go to any of these things. Yeah, send it to us.
Send us questions. Talk to us.
Talk to me. Yeah, talk to me.
Bye everyone.
