Homes not avail to the public yet, New Hotel and Pop Up Bar in Downtown, Steampunk Fun, Renaissance

In this live, on‑camera neighborhood tour, Tucson realtor Tony Ray Baker introduces new team member Armando Sotelo Ruiz, who provides bilingual (Spanish/English) real‑estate services and legal document preparation. They walk viewers through downtown Tucson development projects—including the MLK parking structure beneath the Ronstadt Center, the upcoming Marriott Moxie Hotel, additional hotel plans, and the temporary Martin Drug Company pop‑up bar. Tony then highlights a packed weekend calendar (Steampunk Convention at Old Tucson, Renaissance Festival, Monster Jam at the Tucson Community Center, Botanical Gardens butterfly exhibit, Tucson Festival of Books, Second Saturday downtown, and the San Xavier Mission Wauke Pow Wow) and points viewers to the seetucsonhomes.com “Things to Do” calendar. The segment concludes with a showcase of current listings: a 3‑bed/2‑bath mid‑century modern home near the Mercado priced at $325,000, a $99,900 two‑story condo, upcoming replica 1920s‑1930s bungalows, and other upcoming homes in the foothills and Sarita. Contact information (phone 520‑631‑8669) and a call to visit the website for more listings and events are provided.

Hi, good morning, happy Saturday. I am live here today with a new friend of ours who's working with us at Tierra Antigua Realty. This is Armando Sotelo Ruiz. Hi, how are you doing, Armando? Armando, you speak Spanish fluently, obviously, which is great, which is a great addition for Tierra Antigua Realty to help people from Mexico and Spanish-speaking people. And We're really happy to have you on our team with us. And what else do you do? Explain to us the— besides real estate, you also do something that's really unique, which is—
exactly, yeah, we work with a client that speaks Spanish, English, and we also do legal document prepare, you know, for all the public. But right now we are in the group of Tony Ray Baker and happy to help you in Spanish. Y hablamos español perfectamente.
Nice. So also today, Romando, we're going to show everybody what's going on down— we're in downtown Tucson, of course. And I'm giving you a view right now of the MLK Building. And then as you can see, this is the parking structure that goes down underneath MLK so you can park your car. My understanding is that this parking structure runs underneath the, uh, Ronstadt Center, which is right there. See over there? That's Ronstadt Center. Underneath the Ronstadt Center, this parking structure could be blown out and continue on when they add the 3 new towers over on that platform where the buses are. That's going to be moved around a little bit, but the reason I'm showing you this right now is— Armando, do you have a picture for me?
Absolutely.
So let me show you this. This is the new Marriott Moxie Hotel. I believe it's a Marriott, and that's the Moxie Hotel, and you can see the renderings there, and that is going to go right here. So right here where my finger's pointing is the— what used to be called the beach, and this is going to be the new hotel. Now our understanding is there's another hotel coming as well over at the Tucson Community Convention Center's parking lot. There's one there. And I heard the Arizona Inn is now up for discussion on what they're gonna do with that. So there's at least 2 or 3, I think there's 3 new hotels coming into downtown Tucson. And that's really great for all of Tucson because that means this is a phase of growth that says that we are getting enough of the, what is the words I'm looking for? We're getting enough people coming in, visitors that are coming in, that they're putting in these kind of hotels. Marriott would not do that if we did not have enough growth going on. And I'm now pointed as well, and I'm gonna bring you a little bit closer and see if I can zoom in there. That building used to be proper, and right, and before, many, many years ago, used to be called the Martin Drug Company, and it's now a pop-up bar called Martin Drug Company Pop-Up Bar. And you have to go in there, it's got furry walls and really pretty colors, and and it's all temporary, so it's very fun. And, uh, what you're gonna see over there is only gonna last until the playground is done remodeling. And when the playground's done remodeling, then that'll change into another bar. So it's only temporary. So if you want to come down to downtown, um, check out the Martin Drug Company right there on the corner, and you'll, you'll love what they did for decorations in there. So it's very fun. Okay, so that brings me back to— let's do our next picture. Remember, please I'm gonna show you the site. So this is what our website looks like. Go to Tony Ray Baker, you'll see the little guy right there, and then you're gonna see our calendar of things to do. So I'm gonna talk about some really fun stuff coming up, and then if you'll show us our next picture, Mr. Armando. So we've got some really cool things happening today, by the way. So what we've got is We've got the Steampunk Convention. Let me show you that. Ooh, it's like a Boba Fett steampunk thing. So we've got Steampunk Boba Fett, right? Let me show you this. There you go. And that's out at Old Tucson Movie Studios. This is a really, really cool convention. This is all day today and tomorrow. I think it would be really fun to go out today because you could then go to the next page, which is we have tomorrow is also the Renaissance Festival is going on, but there's also Monster Jam at TCC. So check that out. Woo-hoo! TCC Monster Jam. And so you've got 2, 3 things going on, but the Renaissance Festival runs through April, so I would skip Renaissance Festival this weekend, do the Monster Jam at the Tucson Community Center, and maybe tomorrow, and then you could do the Steampunk Convention today out at the old Tucson Movie Studios. Have you been?
I have never been there, but I would like to visit, and it will be a good event that we can enjoy it. Yeah.
Yeah, steampunk is supposed to be really, really cool out there, so that's gonna be fun. Let's show the next page. So that's two really fun things. I'm gonna put you back around over here. Sorry for the shakiness. We are down a gimbal which I left at the house, and we're in the sunshine. So the other thing we have going on this weekend is the Botanical Gardens, of course, is still running their butterfly exhibition. And do you have— let me see. I want to talk to you about next weekend because next weekend we've got, of course, the Renaissance Festival will still be going. And then you've got the— let me see, I'm pulling paperwork for you— the Tucson Festival of Books, which is at the U of A. And the Tucson Festival of Books is a huge festival they've been doing for many, many years out at the U of A. So you could do that next weekend as well, Renaissance Festival. And then the other problem is you have competing next weekend because there's always so many fun things to do here. You have Second Saturday going on in downtown. So if you go to Second Saturday, here's Martin Drug Company right there behind that truck, and you could actually go to the pop-up bar over there for Second Saturday nights. Now, the other cool thing for next weekend that I heard is that the San Xavier Mission is the Wauke Pow Wow, which is Native American arts and crafts and food and dancing. You'll have a lot going on at that San Xavier Mission, so that should be a very fun event as well. All of this stuff, of course, that I'm talking about today, please go to the seetucsonhomes.com website and there you'll click on things to do. And when you click on things to do, all of these events are on our calendar. So you'll see about 10 to 15 events every day going on in Southern Arizona for that calendar. So it's very fun. So I'm gonna hand this over to you. Take it there. And you're gonna just point this way on me. And then I'm gonna—
hello!
Can you see me? Hi, James Portis! We got to get James Portis back out here holding this camera because apparently I just can't do it right. Then don't move backwards, Armando, because you got a plant behind you. All right, so I do want to talk to you about some really cool houses that we have right now, and I think I've maybe shown you these— this one, maybe a preview of it before, but let me show this to you. So let's see if we can— that— can you— good. So this is a house that we're building right now, uh, over near the Mercado and downtown., and then let me show you, that's the framework on it. This is the roofline, which is really awesome. This house is a 3-bedroom, 2-bath with a garage near the Mercado for $325,000. It should be finished around June. It's under framing right now, so we can't get in and see a lot of the stuff. It's got beautiful clerestory windows. It's very mid-century modern, open, and it's It's absolutely stunning inside. The builder that was hired is a very top-notch builder, so not typical for this price range. This is a builder that does million-dollar homes, so it's a very well-constructed house. I'm very proud to represent this property, and, uh, if you want to see this property, just call me and I'll get you out there. We do have construction going on, so it's a hard hat area right now. But I can get you in and we can take a look at it. It's just something stunning. It's going to be beautiful when it's all completed. So we also just listed a great condominium yesterday, and it is out on the east side for $99,900, which is $100,000 for a beautiful condo. So I'm going to show you some pictures, and Armando, you can move the phone or tell me how I need to move the thing if you want to do this. Okay, so what you can see is it's a 2-story loft-type condo, and it's, it's, it's all remodeled kitchen. It's 2 bedrooms, one on the bottom and then one on the top. And you can see here's the kitchen, how pretty that is. And then it's got stainless steel appliances, and it's got beautiful cabinetry, and it's got a fireplace, which is really charming. It's got a beautiful little courtyard. And it's in a great location, easy access to everything, for $100,000. This one will be gone very quickly, so if you know of somebody who might be in the market trying to find something in a $100,000 price range, that is a very, very rare price range right now in Tucson to get into, and this is one of those clean, well-maintained, perfect places to get into for that price. Okay, um, Looks like I'm out of stuff to tell you about today. Darren's out showing property, so Armando and I are here together working in downtown. If you need something, please contact me at 520-631-8669, and please visit our website at seetucsonhomes.com. And remember, that's where you go to things to do, and then we have every house for sale there for you. We have a bunch of new homes coming up. And I thought I had a picture of them, but let me check really quick because we have some really, really cute bungalows available that are 2017 bungalows, and they are replicas of 1920s, 1930s bungalows right near downtown, right back there where— behind me, in front of me, sorry. And there's going to be 5 of those, I believe, and it's another builder friend of ours, and they're stunning. So one is available. I've got photographs. I'll post them later for you. Those. We've got the new construction by the Mercado, and then we've got a new condo. And I've got 3 or 4 new properties that we just listed. One's coming up in the foothills, it'll be under $400,000. I've got, um, and we've got the new one in Sarita. So we've got some great stuff coming up that aren't public yet. So call me, or if you have a friend or somebody who wants to know about it, have them call me, and we'll be glad to go over the list. We hope you have a great weekend. There's a ton of stuff to do. This weekend's gonna be blue sunny skies again. It's a terrible winter in Tucson as always, so go out and enjoy, get out of the house and enjoy this while we can. My name is Tony Ray Baker with Tierra Antigua Realty. I'm gonna take that camera because that's Armando, woohoo, and he's with Tierra Antigua Realty, and that is the site of the new Marriott Moxie Hotel. And have a great day.
