Chapters
Hi, I'm Tony Ray Baker.
And I'm Darren Jones. Woo-hoo!
We're coming to you live from the Tierra Antigua Realty office in downtown Tucson. And you want to step aside so you can see the office? This is our space. And if you see flashes going by, there's cars driving— oh, it's paparazzi.
It's the paparazzi. They're lined up outside of the window taking pictures of us live. It sounds much better than our story. Yeah, we're that popular.
Ooh, damn, those cameras. Okay, really, let's talk about—
no pictures!
Stop the photos! Uh, what's going on this weekend? We have some fun stuff happening this weekend.
Let's talk about U of A. One— what, no, first we're gonna talk about the car show.
Oh, which is appropriate because there's cars driving by right now and I'm flashing us. It's not really paparazzi.
Classic car show. That's right, Rotary Club is having their classic car show. There's over 400 cars. It's up at St. Gregory School up on Crancroft, and they're giving away a brand new convertible Corvette. Well, it's a raffle. They're not giving it away.
It's a raffle to raise money, probably, right?
Yeah, for the Rotary Club.
So, um, would you please go buy a ticket and make sure you write my name on the tickets? Tony Ray Baker. T-O-N-Y R-A-Y B-A-K-E-R. That'd be a really nice gift.
It goes till 4 o'clock today.
You don't need the card, just give it to me.
And if you're not going to be in that part of town, U of A is having, uh, it's Family Day.
It's, uh, Wilbur and Wilma Wildcat, right? Yeah, so, uh, they have a full, um, playground of blow-up toys, like the slides and things. Yeah, like my— slides and things. And then, uh, food game's lots of fun. And then the food trucks are supposed to be catering food out there for the adults. So there's, uh, there probably is beer and wine, but I'm not sure. There's music, music, somebody singing, lots of kid noises. It's a fun event out there.
Lots of fun. Great place to hang out. And, um, then a little bit further north in Marana.
Oh, Marana. Oh, we're really going to talk about cotton?
Yeah, the Cotton Festival. But there's also a chili cook-off.
Okay, well, so, okay, so Marana has a Cotton Festival with the chili cook-off for— it's raising funds for— oh God, I forgot. Wait, I have a piece of paper. Watch this. This is my cheat sheet.
Ta-da!
What does this say? Marana Cotton Festival, Marana County Community Food Bank.
Oh yeah, the food bank.
Which is really cool. The Marana Chili Cook-off is great. Another good charity event. And they have a big bale of cotton or something, and they do demonstrations on picking cotton.
They do 10 months.
I think they have music and food, right? And did you know where Pima cotton, where that comes from?
Pima?
Pima County. Pima what?
It means what? What?
Pima is supposed to mean what in some form of an Indian language?
I don't know if that's correct or not, but when our ancestors got here, they go, what do you call this land? They go, Pima. What? Oh, okay.
That's like why Arizona. Why? Anyway, so Pima cotton, the best cotton on the planet, right? Now is like Pima cotton, and it comes from Pima County, and it was engineered by U of A. And if it's Supima, just a note to self, if it's Supima, it means the seed was from Pima County but grown somewhere else. So there is your trivia fact. I highly recommend don't buy over 400 thread count sheets because they're way too hot because it's way too close together.
You sweat to death.
That's all I'm saying. But I diverted. The other thing we have is glam bash today, which is, um, we have to say this very slowly and carefully because we can mess this up. It's shopping, cocktails, and a chick flick at the Fox Theater right here in downtown where we are.
Nice. So great place to hang out if you're not into cotton and/or—
well, if you're in cotton, into cotton, or not in cotton, probably have some cool outfits if you're a chick going to a Chick-fil-A party. Okay, let's talk about next week's because that really sounded like I was going to segue somewhere really bad. Let's go to Hell—
Hell— El Dorado.
Yeah, it's in Tombstone. Tombstone. So this is for a next week fun thing to do. Go to El Dorado in Tombstone. They do reenactments of—
it's a lot of fun for the family. They have a parade, they have a reenactment of the shootout at the OK Corral.
Yes.
It's just, you know, fun. Tombstone's fine. If you haven't been there in a while, go check it out.
If you—
El Dorado Days.
This is a fun place to go. Hold on a second. Dennis Jensen's online. Hello, Dennis Jensen. Dennis Jensen in Seattle. So we—
if Dennis Jensen talks, we'll find out.
If Dennis Jensen says anything, we know, because Dennis Jensen liked us on Facebook on this page, so we can actually talk to Dennis Jensen, right? So we have another person, Tommy, over here, and Tommy's monitoring Dennis Jensen's every move.
By the way, if you have any real estate questions, we can answer those for you.
If you, if you are live, if you like our page, we can talk to you. So what were we talking about? Oh, Tombstone. If you want a full day of fun, get tickets to the early morning Karchner's Caverns. Go down there and see the caverns, or lay down late afternoon. I would actually do late afternoon because it'd be warmer in the late afternoon. You go in the cave, and then in the morning go to Tombstone and do the El Dorado.
El Dorado.
Sounds like it should be Halloween.
So also next weekend, yeah. Uh, tell me, what is a Dusk Music Festival?
Oh, um, okay, I'm gonna try this. These are, um, great musicians, and you should know their names. R.L.
Grime. Matt and Kim are going to be there.
Matt and Kim are going to be there. And I'm not talking about Matt and Kim Clifton, the owners of TRF. We love Matt and Kim.
I think they named themselves after Matt and Kim because everybody admires them.
I think that band did name themselves after the owners of the truck. I am agreement. I'm in agreement. Yes, it's a good story. We have a lot of brightness right now because there's a semi-truck flying by and he's white, um, so we probably are glowing. Are we? Yes, I'm getting a nod. So, uh, Matt and Kim, A-Track, RL Grime, and some DJ Mustard— not ketchup, DJ Mustard— and he's supposed to be Is it a he or she, Emmy? I got Emmy here too.
It's DJ Mustard.
DJ Mustard? Yeah. He did something with a candlestick.
No, that was Colonel Mustard.
Oh, Colonel Mustard. Never mind. So DJ Mustard didn't do anything bad. He's supposed to be phenomenal. And that's at this Dusk Music Festival. Where is the Dusk Music Festival? Anybody know? Emmy, you can say it out loud.
The Realito. Realito Towns.
Oh yeah, thanks. So Emmy's behind the camera today.
And she's going to be there.
And she's going to be there. So say hi to Emmy every week.
She's going to be covering and filming the whole thing. Right?
And so Emi will be there. So yeah, so the festival will be really a cool event and the music's supposed to be really great. Absolutely. Yeah, okay, I want to do a— did we have any more?
No, do you have a tech tip for us?
I do have a tech tip. Windows 10 problems, right? Everybody—
no. Yes.
No, no problems with Apple iOS. And now there's Windows 10, right? So Windows 10 is slowing— the new upload is slowing down computers and causing some odd malfunctions. If you're having any of those issues, I am going to extend myself to you. Reach out to me by email at TonyRay@CTucsonHomes.com. If you send me a message or you call me, I will send you the little instructions on how to fix your computer. It's really simple, but it's like 10 little things you follow and you gotta do. So if you want those instructions, you can call me at 520-631-8669.
You know what you told me?
I'm not fixing yours. Or send me an email over at TonyRay@SeeTucsonHomes.com and I'll get you that list of instructions to fix your computer so it runs better with the new Windows 10. It's just a little buggy glitch. It's not near as dysfunctional as iOS 10 has screwed up my iPhone. My dysfunctional iPhone. Tucson homes for sale. We still have that full house for on Fenimore. Did we talk about that last week? Oh, you weren't even here last week. So Tommy was here, he was pretending to be you.
Hi, I'm Tommy.
We got him off the show because he just was like, he's an imposter, he's a poser.
Andrew and I are not.
We love having Tom on the show. It was a good show. So we're gonna also have some video coming up. We're gonna say goodbye to you here and then you're going to see us over at the Presidio Museum sometime today. We're going to get that up. We're gonna have us live up there and talking to the folks over at Presidio, which is a Really, it was really, really, really cool. Who knew that was there, right?
So stay tuned.
Yeah, so stay tuned. Watch for us today to come over to the Presidio. But that's a cool place. Everybody, if you're in Tucson, you should go see that.
Yeah.
Yeah. Anything else you want to say?
That's it for today.
Okay, so if you want to get hold of us, it is a good time to sell, by the way, because we have a super low inventory.
I know.
Yeah, it's like the worst, lowest inventory.
If you're waiting for a seller's market, it's here.
Seller's market's here. 520-631-8669 to call us, and our website is SeaTucsonHomes.com. And my name is Tony Ray Baker with Tierra Antigua Realty. I'm Darren Jones with Tierra Antigua Realty, and we hope you have a fantastic weekend.
We'll see you next week.
Bye, Dennis!
Bye!
