Win a great prize & Amazing tips and info for you

In this upbeat, on‑location YouTube segment, Tucson realtor Tony Ray Baker (ABR, CRS, GRI, CLHMS) tours the University of Arizona Spring Fling carnival with co‑host Darren, emoji‑specialist Armando, and photographer David. The crew highlights a variety of community happenings – the 45th Annual Bonsai Show (featuring Darren’s Procumbens juniper bonsai), a historic Sam Hughes bungalow walking tour, a cookie‑themed bicycle scavenger hunt, upcoming cover‑band concerts, Avalon Gardens Eco‑Village Easter activities, and more. Throughout, they promote their real‑estate portal seetucsonhomes.com, give practical tips (e.g., using goodemailcopy.com for email writing), share weather advice, and run a viewer contest: participants must comment the two names of Darren’s bonsai tree to win a $25 downtown‑restaurant gift certificate. Contact information for Tony (520‑631‑8669) and Darren (520‑730‑5203) is provided, and the video ends with a call‑to‑action to visit the website for listings and event details.

Hey, happy Saturday! I'm Tony Ray Baker, I'm Darren, and you're Dave, the photo guy. And this is Armando, emoji dude. Emoji dude and photo guy are here with us again today. Yay! We are out at Spring Fling, and this is a really cool event. Have you been to this event? Okay, so I am confessing I have not been to this event either, and we were talking to a lot of people over the weekend. We're like, none of us have been to this event, but it's a long-standing event for Tucson. It's very popular. It's the largest run student-run carnival in the United States. That's what I read. So kudos to U of A for something else there. You can see the Ferris wheel spinning in the back. It's beautiful. There's some really cool rides. I think today and tomorrow are great days to get out and come to play down here, right? Um, I would recommend tomorrow because I think the temperature is supposed to drop down to, uh, what's my thing say? Temperature tomorrow I think is supposed to be like 76 or something. We're supposed to see a little, uh, dip about 10 degrees. So great day to play in the sun, right? Yeah. So also, I'm gonna give a clue sometime during this, what we're talking about today, and we're gonna give away a prize at the end. It's a nice prize, so you're gonna want to pay attention to what we have to say.
Nice.
That's the key to your success. Nice emoji, dude. Yeah, so we're gonna give away a fun prize, and we'll tell you how to get that at the end of the show after we talk about all the fun stuff. Today is a big day for you. Yeah, yeah, it's bonsai day. I have my first tree in exhibition today.
Day at the 45th Annual Bonsai Show. This is my tree. Come by and see it. Sweet.
Darren, that's a beautiful tree. What type of tree is that?
This is a Procumbens juniper.
Nice.
And it is in a, uh, standard form.
So when you bought that, when you got the tree, what did it look like?
It looked like one of those bushes that you would buy at Lowe's or Home Depot or whatever, um, just basically nursery stock. And so I trimmed it back and trained it, and I worked on it for a little over 2 years now.
So, um, it's amazing that someone— if somebody wanted to get into bonsai, it's amazing that that after a couple years came from nursery stock at, uh, one of the local gardener nurseries, right? That's amazing that you could get to there in just a couple years. You did a— it's beautiful.
Yeah, it's a great— tomorrow at the show, um, you could— you'll be able to see exhibitions, you'll learn more about bonsai, you'll get to see lots and lots of trees, lots of trees that some of them are over 100 years old. Wow. So, um, anyway, it's really, uh Really impressive. You should come by and take a look at that, and all the information is on our website.
Nice. Okay, so let's talk about the website really quick. Just to remind you, go to seetucsonhomes.com for every event we talk about today. It's, uh, there's a Things to Do button on the very top black bar. You click on Things to Do and it'll give you a full calendar with thousands of things, but everything we talk about today is on that calendar, so you can get all of the information you like, dates and times and all that stuff, right? Okay, cool. So also going on tomorrow, which is really beautiful, is right in the area, Sam Hughes neighborhood, which is just across the street over there. So Sam Hughes neighborhood, there's a walking tour, and I believe there's like— yeah, it's like $25. You get to do— go to the beautiful Sam Hughes bungalow. Those are 1920s, 1930s bungalows, right? That's stunning.
Tucson historic. Yeah.
So that's going to be a really nice event to go to tomorrow. So you're going to have a lot. Why not come actually here and play and go to the tour tomorrow? That way they could go see you today at the Bonsai.
That's right.
Because you're going to be there this afternoon.
I will be there this afternoon and tomorrow morning.
Right, so it's a perfect way to do everything all in one weekend, right? Perfect. There's a really fun thing going on next weekend. So today was the cookie tour, the cookie bicycle. It started this morning along Santa Cruz and you get cookies for riding your bike. It's awesome. So I mean—
Keep up your energy.
Oh yeah, that's right, perfect. Cookies! Cookie Monster, by the way, kept his job at PBS. Anyways, I think Cookie Monster still good. Okay, I think Elmo got fired, or laid off. Let's go, let's, let's be political about it. Anyways, oh, I got a bug. So the scavenger, the cookie tour was started this morning, so people are riding along the river and they're getting cookies, which I'm kind of jealous because we're not. But I got a friend on the inside trying to pick us up a baggie full. So we're good. Yeah, nice. One move this way so we can get away from that, that sound. Yeah, you want me to go this way? Yeah, run this way.
By the way, all the people that you see walking behind us, these are gonna be the new movers and shakers These are the new students that are incoming freshmen who are getting their tour of the U of A. Yeah, we're on U of A campus.
Don't keep backing up, James is gonna die in that sunshine. I'm good, I'm good. Okay, so what else is going on? Speaking of bicycles, which has started already today, next weekend there's El Grupo's Bicycle Scavenger Hunt, and this is supposed to be crazy fun. The scavenger hunt is in downtown, and you get— you have to find hidden places, hidden objects, and solve riddles. That's awesome, right? And then there's lunch, and there's— there might be drinking, I don't know, uh, but it's all in downtown area. It's called El Grupo's Scavenger Bicycle Scavenger Hunt. Go to our website at seetucsonhomes.com and click on it. It's got some really fun stuff. I kind of want to do this, but I don't have a bicycle. Oh, I might just— if you've got a bicycle I can borrow, please call me. Oh, I want to do this. They have, uh, they celebrate at the end in a beer garden. I'm not sure where that is. It could be Riley's Beer Garden. They have an amazing beer garden. Riley's. And after the celebration, uh, live music starts at 7:00. So doesn't that sound like a blast? So, uh, that's El Grupos. Also, uh, this, this weekend there are two cool things going on, and that is, um, let's back to that shade so you can see anybody, um, if they— this looks really good to log on. Um, also, um, there's two, uh, cover bands. They're supposed to be really good. The Prince tribute group is in at, uh, Desert Diamond Casino this weekend, next weekend. And also Simon and Garfunkel, the top cover band, is supposed to be at the Fox Theater next weekend. So what a blast all that'll be, right? If you like Prince or Simon and Garfunkel, they're supposed to be there. For all you music lovers. The best. That's right. Yeah, absolutely the best. And then I want to tell you, I don't know if you know about this, but so not Easter. I'm going to talk about Easter. I know you're going to say that. Easter is next weekend, right? It's on Sunday. Yeah.
Aww.
And but one of the cool things coming One of the things you can do, which I did not know about, so I don't know if you knew about it, is there is down the road, down near Tubac, there is a— it's called Avalon Gardens and Eco Village. What? Yep. What did you say? Look at this thing. Okay, so this is the Eco Village at Avalon Gardens, right? And Avalon Gardens, it's down by Tubac to McCockery, right? I think it's like somewhere in that area. And when you go down there, they actually next weekend for Easter have pony rides and hayrides for the kids. They have tours of the gardens and the village. And these guys, when I was looking at the pictures, I was getting very excited. There's— look at this house.
It's great. It's one of those places that you can go anytime, but they have special events. They have special, you know, pick your pumpkins and Halloween events and fall events.
And also, you know about it.
Yeah, so you can get fresh produce and everything.
Yeah, okay, so check it out on the website. They do permaculture, water harvesting, they have green eco-building, composting, seed saving, heritage grain cultivation. I'm reading from this because there's no way I can get this. Yeah, cultivation, wind and solar power. They're Arizona's largest food forest system and they have aquaponics. There. If you are into— if you're a gnome like he is, you're into gardening, this is the place you have to see. I want to go see it for these cool structures. Yeah, look at this village. They're like monolithic house. They're like really fun stuff, right? It looks really fun. I have to go. Um, anyway, so we got to get out there. Maybe not next weekend, but— so it's going to be a great day for kids because it's an Easter— a whole Easter event they have going on out there. I would take the take the family and ride out there and go see this thing, right? How fun is that? Um, so that, uh, for fun things to do, that covers it. Next weekend, by the way, is going to be a little tad bit warmer because we're going to be like 87 to 90 both days. Yeah, so seek shade, that's all, and wear sunscreen please, and a little hat, and then take a picture and show me the little hat because I think that's funny. Um, so the other thing I want to talk about, I have a really, really cool tip.
Okay.
Yeah, so I found this online, it's called, uh, goodemailcopy.com. And if you go to goodemailcopy.com, wait for it, it's free. Free, free, free. Okay, so you know how when you need to write an email and you just can't, like, what do I want to say or what am I going to do? I have like a thank you email or any type of email. You go to goodemailcopy.com and it actually gives you all the top companies' emails that they've written and it shows you samples so you can hit a thank you bubble. And it'll take you to see all the thank you emails that they have written copies of. So it'll inspire you to write your email by using other people's ideas and words.
That's fantastic.
It's an inspirational email content thing. So if you're in a bind and you need to write an email to a client, a friend, they've got all these cute bubbles that say thank you, inspiration.
Or if you're always at a loss for words.
Yeah, which we never are, but, um, So I just found that this— so goodemailcopy.com, it's amazing. So what we're gonna do today is we're gonna give the person who sends us— so if you like and share us on Facebook, we're gonna pick one of you who gives the answer to this question. You're gonna put the answer into this thread, and you're gonna have to go back and watch the beginning of this video right now. Go back and watch it because Darren said what type of bonsai tree he had, and it has two names, and I need you to put those two names as an answer in— how do they do that, James? They put, uh, what's it called? The comment. A comment. Put it in the comment box. My, my words. So put it in the comment box and then like and share this to your friends and put it in. We're gonna draw one of those names and you're gonna get to pick a restaurant in downtown Tucson, and we'll give you a $25 gift certificate to any restaurant you want to go to. Wow. And we're trying because we want you to help spread the word that he has a bonsai tree at the, at the event today, which is a big deal. Yeah, everyone, congratulations! And we're going to help a restaurant downtown, but you get to pick where you want to eat. And if you don't know the restaurants, we'll gladly tell you about every one of them. Okay, so go back to the beginning of this and watch what type of tree Darren said this is. It's got two names. You might have to listen to it a few times and put it in the comments, and then like and share us. And we will pick a winner, right?
Yep.
Okay, we'll pick a winner on Tuesday. So Tuesday we're gonna pick the winner and one of you is gonna get that restaurant.
Okay.
