Hello, and welcome to Visible Panty Lines, the podcast. If you are listening on Sunday morning at 8am when the episode drops, then good morning, and hopefully you are, and that means you're subscribed. So thank you for all the listening support out there. We hit number 77 on one of the podcast charts, so that is awesome. And as something that started as kind of a side project for me, I'm super excited that you are loving listening to all of the guests that I've had on so far. And I feel really fortunate in my career as a journalist, as an author, as a TV personality to be able to have access to some really amazing people. And I think, you know, that's so cool that I can then bring these people and what they have to share with all of you and bring their message. And usually it's something that's uplifting and positive because that is the tagline of the podcast. Transparent conversations, Inspiration, encouragement, and overcoming adversity. And so that is what we are all about. And this week, I'm actually coming to you from California. I'm about to tape an episode of Access Hollywood Daily with Kit Hoover and Mario Lopez, a show that I do like once a month and kind of uplift some women with some bra advice. So I am here doing that and working. And I am fortunate today to be talking with Brianna Saucy. Am I saying your name right?
Saucy, yes.
What a great name.
Now, she is an author, a storyteller, a teacher, a spiritual counselor, and a leader, but really specializes in, I guess, everything kind of the root of everything being astrology. Am I right, Brianna? And so everything's based on what is going on with the planets. And we were just talking before I hit record. I am, like, super frazzled at the moment because I have a lot of projects and balls in the air. And, yes, I always do, but more so than normal. And I think Mercury Retrograde, I always feel like that is something that, for some reason, wildly affects me personally. And I know it affects everybody, but even when I got my first book deal for the bra book in 2009, I had never even heard of Mercury Retrograde. And my agents, Michael Ebling and Christina Holmes, actually went to my publisher, Glenn Yeffeth, at Benbella Books, and said to him, is it okay if Janae waits to sign the contract until we're out of Mercury Retrograde?
Yeah. Yeah. So that's like how.
Yes, exactly. So we were just kind of chatting about that and why some of us, all of us maybe feel so frazzled right now. So, Brianna, let's talk about what got you into all of this.
Yes, absolutely. Well, thank you so much, Danae, for having me on your podcast. I've listened to some episodes knowing that we were going to record and love it. I just, I love it. I love it. And I love the double entendre of uplifting. Makes me so happy. Brings a smile to my face.
Good.
So.
So I work in the field of sacred arts, which is basically magic, astrology, divination, right? It's all of the things that we call new age or woo, but they're actually, they're actually ancient arts and they're all connected. They all speak to one another. So astrology is a really great example. We look at what's happening in the sky to give us insight into what is happening in our lives and how we might be prepared for it. And I got into this. I was, I was born into a family where things like storytelling and divination were part of my upbringing. And that sounds like, exotic, but it was like, you know, it's a normal suburban family, right? Normal American suburban family. But I'm in San Antonio, Texas. And so San Antonio is a real crossroads. Like, culturally, ethnically, we have a lot of diversity. And that lends itself to having some vibrant, magical, sacred traditions that families around here have. So that was how it started. I did not plan at all. This was not on my bingo card to be a full time sacred artist. But one thing led to another. I managed a bookstore in San Francisco and people would start coming in for tarot readings and they would start coming in to have their natal charts assessed. And they were, you know, it was customers of the bookstore who knew me.
So you were already doing tarot readings. They knew they, they about. Yes, you. Okay.
Right. They had heard, but it wasn't like I had a shingle out or anything, right. They would come in, they would bring me like, lattes, or they would bring me delicious bakery treat. And that was, I was like, this was my, my business plan.
When, when my husband and I decided to move back to Texas, the people that had kind of become my clients all said, hey, you should, you should do this, you should do this full time. You're really good at this and we love it. So I fell into it. And so, you know, so this is my 13th year in business. There's 13, two books later, here we are. And I do love it. I wake up every day so excited, so thrilled, so honored to get to do what I do.
So now you talked a little bit about your books. One of them in particular deals with how astrology can affect your parenting, basically, and your children. And that's something I've always been interested in astrology. Like, I've always, you know, been like, looking up what it means. I've had my entire chart done, like the two hour thing where you sit with the person. And it's crazy because I had it done so many years ago, very early on in my career. And she was very spot, like, everything was very spot on with like, how my career has gone, how my life has gone. It's just really amazing that it can provide that insight. And I remember that she said, like, at the time I wasn't even a mom yet. I now have, we're a blended family. We have four children. And I remember at the time she was like, you're going to be that mom that like, is going to be like traveling to wherever, like go to Tibet or something with like the baby on your back, you know.
Yeah.
And while I have not gone to Tibet, I have taken my daughter to like model on the Wendy Williams show with me. Like she's been to my stepdaughter, has been to events with me. Like we, my, my, our littlest child, who. He's the one that's the Capricorn. I was telling you on email and just turned seven. He's already like expressing interest. Like he really wants to come to California with me. He really wants to take a train ride to New York with me. Like, very interested in what I do. So I just find it really fascinating how astrology can really kind of, I guess, predict, I don't know, just really provides insight. And your book in particular talks about parenting. Right. So how that can sort of help you, help you, I guess. Does that really help you become a better parent and understand your kids a little better?
I think so. I mean, I hope so. Right. So the book is Star Child Joyful Parenting through Astrology. And this was one of those books and you're an author, so you probably get this. I. And I went to my publisher and I said, I'm writing this one and you guys can publish it or not. But like, this book is getting written because I need it and all my girlfriends need it, all my mom friends need this book because I was talking to parents all the time about their children's astrological makeup and I was like, you know, this kind of discipline isn't going to work with your Scorpio child. Like, you're going to have to find a different way or of course your Gemini baby is all over the place. Like, welcome to the wonderful world of Gemini children. Like, I myself have one.
I have a husband that is a Gemini.
So, yeah, so you really get it.
They're in.
They're busy. They're busy, busy people, and they're in everything.
So, like, you can't sit still.
So the idea was basically to sort of look at the relationship between parent and child through the lens of astrology and give some insight into the different signs and as they're growing up, what they really need in terms of support, what parents could be looking for in terms of likely challenges. And the book was really inspired by my first child, who is a very strong Pisces. He has, like, six planets in Pisces. It was inspired by a teacher parent conference where I went in with my husband, who's also a Pisces, and they were like, you know, he's so smart. He's incredibly creative. He's incredibly gifted in art, in music. We sometimes worry about his ability to be with other people. And I was thinking, well, yeah, he's like a quadruple Pisces. Of course he needs downtime and to be aware.
He does not want to be in the fray in the middle of things. Unlike my younger child, who has a Gemini, a double Gemini is like, oh, put me right in the center. My older one is like, yeah, no, that's not how I jam. So I really wanted to be able to share those insights with parents, but also with teachers, with guardians and other caregivers. Basically, anyone who has children in their lives who wants to really see the child as the whole child and support them in becoming not who we want them to be, but who they are already. And so that was the motivation for Star Child.
So our listeners might not understand the concept of, like, double or, you know, rising. So essentially, if someone. I'm a. I'm a double Libra. So I guess in some cases they call it a true Libra. I was born at 5:45 in the morning. So, like, when you were born, the time you were born all plays a part, not just the month you were born. Right? That's right.
Super important.
Yeah. Yes.
Yeah.
So, like, that's something I wanted to point out when you were talking. And so other. Also your rising sign. Right. Is important. And so I always get confused because it's sun and moon and rising.
So rising are like the big three.
Right. So if you're one thing, that makes you a double.
Okay, that's right. That's right. And if you're a double, it means that you were born on the new moon. Right. So if your.
Yes.
And is in Libra and your moon is in Libra, you were born on the new moon in that month of October or.
Yes. And then. Okay. And then rising is Virgo, which is interesting for me. My oldest daughter is a Virgo.
Yes. Yeah. So that's a really interesting thing. So, you know, one of the questions that comes up when people first get into astrology is, I mean, aren't all Libras the same? Or how are Libras all different? And I'm a Libra as well. So you know, the, the, as you were saying, the time that you're born, the day you're born, even the location that you're born all feed into what's called your natal chart. And that's basically a picture of the sky at the time of your birth. And wow. What brings out all the differences is the different positions that points and planets that are important have in that picture. So that, that gets into how we're all different. But a really good place to start is knowing your sun sign, knowing your moon sign, and knowing your rising sign. It is also sometimes called your ascendant. And your son is like your basic personality. Right. So it's Librans. We like, we like to talk, we like art, we like culture, we like harmony, we like peace, we like ideas, we like attention.
And pretty.
We like, we're. We're Venus ruled, so we like to be pretty. We do not love making choices. Especially like if they come at, it's like really fast, right. And it's like you have to make a choice right now it's like, oh my gosh, you know, and we can be a bit bossy. So we have to like, we have, we're cardinal, so we have to like tone that down a little bit depending on who we're with. So then our moon has to do with how we process emotions and how we show up emotionally. You can have a Libra who then has say like a Capricorn moon. And like they, they may not come off as warm and friendly as your typical Libra because that Capricorn moon is going to make them a little bit more reserved, be a little bit more watchful. They may not be as communicative verbally as your typical Libra because that Capricorn moon is going to make them a little bit more discerning with when they speak. And often because it's an Earth sign, they're going to communicate through touch or through gifts or through tangibles. Right. Those Bring out some of the nuances in our personal astrology. And those are all really important to take into consideration when we're working with kids.
Well, you know, it's interesting too. Like something that someone told me a long time ago that I really found to be true is like, especially with Libras, like male libras are different than female libras.
Very.
Like for some weird reason when, like anytime, for example, I have a friend who's like dating a new guy and I'm like, oh, what's his sign? Because I always ask that, you know, because I'm like, they're going to be compatible and just. Because I just enjoy it. And I've done a lot of research into it and I definitely think it matters. Then they tell me like, oh, he's a Libra like you. I'm like, well, male Libras are quite different in my experience than female libras. So I find that to be like, really interesting too.
That's absolutely right. Yeah. One of the reasons why with Libra is because we are, we are all a little bit, we're all a little bit more androgynous. Like female Libras have some traditional quote unquote, more masculine qualities. Like, we'll take lead, we'll take charge, we'll take initiative. Male libras often have more feminine, some traditionally feminine qualities. Like they tend to listen more, they tend to care more about their appearance. And part of that is because we are. Libra is a masculine element, it's the element of air, but it's ruled by a feminine planet, the planet of Venus. So there's like a masculine feminine thing going on. And we are after all, the balance. So that makes a lot of sense.
Yeah. So it's interesting. I love that we've read so many people's things, astrologers out there on relationship compatibility and relationship harmony. And I know the general rule of thumb is you want to look for a sign that's kind of like one to two away from you on the wheel, essentially. Right. So I know that for Libra, my good match is supposed to be, I think, Aquarius and Gemini. My ex husband is an Aquarius and my current husband is Gemini, which just kind of worked out that way. But no one has ever really tied it to your parenting or your child that I've ever seen. And it's like a relationship just like any other. Right. So what's it?
Well, and I think so, you know, when I look at compatibility, whether it's like parent child or it's you know, partners, business partners, or romantic partners. You know, a good place to start is always the sun sign. And I think about it elementally. So air and air go together, right? Libra, Gemini for you. Air and fire are traditionally compatible. Air and water are not so much. Air and earth are not. So now, that doesn't mean that, like, if you're a Libra or a Gemini, you can't have a good relationship with, let's say, a Capricorn. It means that you may have to do a little bit of extra work in understanding how to understand one another. Yeah, Communication is huge for all of us. Air signs.
Right.
And so Aquarius is the other air sign. So communication really matters. So, like, if you're with someone who has a very different communication style than you do, they're not chatty taffies, then you need to understand, like, they're not necessarily closing off. They're not necessarily shutting you out. They may communicate by doing something with you.
Right.
They may communicate by giving you something. Like, there's. There's different forms of relating. And so that's the beauty of astrology, I think, is kind of being able to see that there are really different forms of coming into relationship. One is not more valid than the other. And if we know what someone's comfort zone is with respect to that, it just can smooth out a lot of issues before they even show up.
So true.
So with my daughter, she's a Virgo, I never really had an issue connecting with her or getting along with her. She's very easygoing, but she definitely has her Virgo traits. But she. She could be a little stubborn and all sorts of other stuff, but she definitely was, I guess, not complicated in a sense, to kind of figure out. Right. And then add my son, who he's the opposite of that, like, totally hard to figure out.
Can literally be like Jekyll and Hyde. Like, you know, I actually haven't had his chart done, so I don't know, like, he might even have Gemini in there somewhere.
Yeah, I was going to say with Gemini, my husband is a little Gemini.
Right, Exactly. Oh, I'm well versed in, like, Gemini. And it's like nine years in, I've kind of figured out how to communicate with my husband. Because in the beginning, like, that aspect is like, whoa. And especially for a Libra, you're like, we just want peace and harmony. And, like, that's at any cost, you know, so you have to, like, navigate the Gemini's, like, treacherous waters. And I feel like nine years in, I do that pretty well. But then here's this, like, cat Capricorn kid who's like, this little dictator. But then he can be the sweetest, you know, most loving. Like, make you feel like you're the center of his Earth kind of thing. So it's been interesting and challenging, like, trying to figure out ways to communicate with him. I mean. Yes. And plus, he's, you know, he just turned 7. He's little.
So he's not, like, mature or anything yet, you know, really. But it's like trying to kind of figure him out, I guess. So to speak, has definitely been challenging and trying to figure out best methods of, like, dealing with him, basically, and, like, getting your message across. And I, like, still haven't quite figured that out, but I know, like, astrology can definitely help and play a part, you know, in figuring him out, but, oh, for sure, it's been rough.
Well, you know, one of the things with Libra and Capricorn is you're both cardinal signs. So you both want to be in charge, right?
Yes.
And, of course, you're the mom, so, like, you're in charge, but.
He wants to be in charge. And so when you have a cardinal child in as much as you can, like, it's always good to give them some domain that they can be in charge of. So it's like, you can be in charge of me, Right. I'm your mom. Like, you can't boss me around, but, like, you can take leadership here. And the other thing, the rainbow connection between Libra and Capricorn is actually competition because Libras tend to really like competition. But we like competition for, like, everybody wins.
Yes.
Competition where, like, no, we're all trying to be better. Capricorns love competing. They love shiny awards, they love trophies and metals and things like that. They like tangible signs of their work because work is so important to them. So with happy kids, I always recommend that, like, you take that energy and you channel it either into sports or music or something so that there can be. Or even game playing. So, like, they. They can, you know, exercise that part of themselves that likes to compete, that likes to win.
Right.
Likes to play the game. Because then it doesn't kind of, like, build up and get. And sort of show up in, like, less pleasant ways. You know what I mean?
Yeah. That's interesting that you say that because we've been trying so hard to get him into sports and he's, like, the only kid that is just, like, so resistant to doing anything. He just really, like, gets a lot of Anxiety, like, going into a group sports situation. He's kind of like a loner in that aspect. Like, he likes to just do what he wants to do and do his own thing. And my husband has been like, you should try. You should do this or you should do that. And he, like, just doesn't want to do it. But then we were in my daughter's room the other day, and he goes, wow, Gigi has a lot of trophies. They look so shiny and cool. And I said, you can have one, too, if you will play a sport. And he was like, no, I'm not doing it.
I'm not doing that. And I was like, okay, but you could have that shiny trophy if you do. Right.
Once he starts to see other kids get them and cats, and they tend to like classic preppy sports. So, like, tennis.
Yeah. Oh, my God. I had him in tennis. He did like it. But my husband was like, I don't think, like, he's gonna pursue. I don't know. So we kind of just stopped. Yeah. And he loves skiing. He actually really does.
Like, that. That makes a ton of. Well, I mean, and that makes so much sense because, I mean, they are. You know, one of the images of Capricorn is the goat climbing the mountain.
Yeah.
So, like, skiing, lacrosse, tennis, racquetball, golf. A lot of, like. Okay, so those are all. Those are all, like. You know, I think of those as, like, the classic, like, prep school kind of sports, and they tend to like those more than some of the others. Right.
Like, that's so interesting. I know. And it's like, I. I thought of tennis because I had Gigi playing tennis, my daughter, for a few years. She's like. I had her in swimming. Like, I put her in a bunch of different things. One, so she could see what she liked, but number two, so that she had these, like, as life skills. Because I felt like in social situations, like, someone would want to go play tennis or golf. And I didn't have that background, and I never learned how to ski, and, like, I didn't swim, you know, so, like, all these things that are like, oh, you can have these as life skills. I felt like tennis, even if it's like, just a social thing someday for him, like, it's just a good thing to learn. And you're not like, in a situation with a huge group. It's like you and one other person, you know, or even, like, a couple other people, which seems to, like, really intimidate him for whatever reason. So, I mean, I know he's young And I'm sure he'll find his thing, but it's just been so hard because we're like, okay. He's so resistant to, like, everything. Like, he seems to like music and stuff. And I know, like, that's hard for my husband because he's like a jock and he just wants. He feels like they should all be in sports, but, like, I grew up singing and modeling and dancing and being in musicals and all this other stuff. And I'm like, he probably does have, like, a lot of me, so he might want to do that, you know.
Well, you know, he can. He can do both. I mean, you know, there's a lot. There's a lot of kids that do music. My son is a really gifted cello player, really gifted piano and.
Yeah.
And he plays basketball and he plays flag football and. Yeah, definitely not, like, I mean, the music. He clearly has this talent and this passion for the music. But, you know, the sports really feeds into the music and vice versa. Like, yeah, you need to be strong to play the cello and, like, you.
Know what I'm saying?
You need to have a sense of rhythm if you're going to play a sport like basketball or a sport like tennis. And it'll be interesting when your little cappy gets older. One of the things that might also steer him is if you say, you know, well, a lot of business deals get done on the golf course or on the tennis court. Right. It's a life. Those are lifetime sports, but they're also sports that people come together and they do deals and they do business. And so that will be something that he will probably be interested in because, like, you're saying it is a social skill and it's a professional skill.
It's funny because my ex husband's dad would always, like, pressure him to take golf lessons because he was in finance and he. His dad was like, listen, like, all the finance people golf. And like, that's something you're gonna have to do. And like, sure enough, you know, he started having to do some of that type of stuff, and he was, like, so resistant to it and didn't, like, really want to do it. But it did become, like, a part of his career. And he ended up kind of switching careers to, you know, some going into financial tech instead because he was like, didn't, you know, I don't know. I just think that wasn't him. But I'll definitely be interested to see how he turns out and everything. But I do think it's so fascinating if people just didn't think astrology was such a far fetched concept or really learned a little bit about it and applied it, that they could see how it could really be just another tool in your arsenal to help you with your interpersonal relationships. Whether it's like you said, your business associate or your spouse or your child.
Absolutely. I mean, one of the things that I talk about a lot is how in most places in the world, astrology is actually the norm. Like you, you talk to people from India and it's like, you know, you're going to college, you're getting your degree, you're like learning your skills, you're managing your money and you know what's going on. Astrologically, it's not an either or kind of thing, it's a both. And it's like, of course I'm going to do everything practical. And yeah, I'm going to also make sure that I know what's going on in the skies and how that might affect what's going on with me. I mean, there's a huge difference. If you know that it's Mercury retrograde, then when like schedule mishaps happen or tech issues happen, you can just kind of roll with it because you're like, yeah, this is the time of year where that happens. So I mean, I.
Had, you know, shut down.
Mercury retrograde. Well, it was, it was so funny because Mars had gestation direct. After being retrograde for weeks and weeks and weeks, Mercury was still retrograde. And I, and it was like, you know, basically computer meltdown. And I think all of the astrologers were like, yeah, that is pretty much exactly what we would expect to see.
Well, you know what's interesting too, to your point, like in those other countries they also combine western medicine with eastern medicine and that's like standard. So like your doctor might prescribe a medication and do acupuncture on you or whatever. Like we are, I feel like we are the only country that is like so resistant to like, yes, there's a metaphysical movement and yes, that like crystals and all this other stuff is like trending right now. Which obviously I am loving because my part of my business is kind of based around that too with the gym bra. But like, and I personally love that aspect. But like, it's crazy how like if you talk to a lot of people in Generation X, like in my generation, and forget about it with like baby boomers, like if you try to bring up anything metaphysical, they're like, what, like that's, you know, hippie hocus pocus or whatever. Yeah, like, our society, in our country are really only ones that don't get like that. This should be part of the bigger picture.
It's really. It's so true. And you know, what's interesting is that there's a ton of people in our culture that actually make use of things like magic and astrology all of the time. There's a ton of celebrities that make use of it. There's a ton of people that actually have those things in play as part of their spiritual health, as part of their lifestyle and their management of their life and their management of their business. But they don't talk about it because there's such a stigma, Stigma. Talking about it and talking about it, like, in a serious, rigorous way. And so I do think that the current, current popularity around these things is helping to bring some of them, like, more into the mainstream. But we are definitely behind. I mean, you know, to your point about medicine, like, in many places, your astrological profile would be part of how you were diagnosed. So it might be like, right, take this medicine, take this prescription, get acupuncture. Also you should wear these colors because, like, you're kind of depressed, and this is going to make you feel better.
Yeah.
And we know that those things have currency. We know that there. That there is legitimacy to them. But we still, you know, we. So many, many people still just have a really hard time, like, really opening up to them. But I think it's getting better. I think we're getting. We're getting it more.
Yeah, I think so, too. It's just funny to me, like, it's so trendy now to, like, do a vision board or, like, a manifestation list. And I remember, like, go back even just like, five years when I was talking about this stuff. Like, people would look at me like I was nuts, you know, and it's like, hello. Now I'm like, hello, you're finally seeing what I'm saying. I've been doing for many years now that has really, I think, helped propel me to, like, where I wanted to go, you know, personally and professionally. And it's like, oh, now that it's trendy, you get it. Okay. Like, I'm glad. Whatever. Whatever it takes to, like, make people realize that there are these kind of tools available to us that we can really improve our lives if we just understand that the world is, like, bigger than your little bubble that you are living in, you know?
Exactly.
There's a much bigger world out there that is playing a part in everything. And things like astrology or even the Concept of crystals, we're talking what, billions of years? I mean, how long have these concepts been around? This isn't a new age made up thing. These are proven concepts that people have believed for a really long time.
No, I always say everything new age is actually very old age because been around for millennia. And you know, I really. Crystals, healing earth, attuning to various substances like gold or silver or rose quartz or black tourmaline. I mean these are things that, that people have been doing since there have been people making rituals, making ceremonies, looking at the stars.
Yes.
And paying attention to the cycles, looking at the moon and paying attention to the phases of the moon and looking at how it affects things like growing food, fishing, you know, planting in your garden. Like our ancestors all did this. Everybody has always done this. We've been in this weird like 5 to 700 year period in parts of the developed west where it's like, oh, you can't do this anymore because it's superstitious. Which basically like, you know, a bunch of like religious, economic and political institutions told us that we couldn't do it anymore. And we all, you know, collectively said, okay, because if you didn't, you were like harassed and persecuted and killed. And the astrology, like the global astrology really supports this. I think that we're coming into a period where people are starting to say, you know, like, I don't have to just write this off as superstition. I can ask questions, I can explore, I can learn. And if you, and if it's not your thing, like nobody is saying you have to do, there's no proselytizing. But like, if you're interested, you can, you can learn, you know.
Yeah.
And there are people like you who have been doing it for a really long time. You're like, I'm over here with my vision board telling y' all this is awesome. Right?
For years now, for years, you know, I mean, at least 15 years I've been. And I remember like it was a visit to Palm Springs with my ex, now ex husband to visit his uncle. And his uncle was like the one that was different from the rest of the family. So like I just always like loved him right off the bat because the rest of the family was very like, you know, grounded, I guess, so to speak. And this uncle was just kind of more out there, more creative, was an advertising, like moved out to the west coast when the rest of their family all stayed together in the same area. And like, you know, he was just different. And I like just really hit it off with him. And I was to get the book deal for the bra book, and I was trying to work with a bra company, fashion forums, to hopefully get a private label, which is what ended up happening. And so this was all happening when we took this trip, and I was, like, doing all these kind of tactics to try to, like, be positive and hope that this happened. And he introduced me to something called Science of the Mind. And he was like, janae, you can really make this happen for yourself, like, the power of your mind. And, you know, so I made a list on my computer at the time of, like, the goals that I had and the things that I wanted, and that was one of them. And then when I got back from the trip, I found out that the deal was going to happen. From that point on, I really believed, like, your mind can really make things happen. And then it was like, then Oprah did the thing on the Secret, and it was the vision board and all that stuff. Yeah. You know, but like, he was the one. Uncle Teddy was the one that really introduced me to the concept, and I was a believer right off the bat because I was like, you know, and he was like, all these famous people have done it. And then, like you said, Jim Carrey writing the check, the million dollar check to himself when he was a struggling actor, you know, that's a story that's out in the news lately. And that is the same thing, really, like, absolutely manifesting what you want, you know, and now, like, it's trendy and cool. So I'm glad, like, it's opening up people's eyes and, you know, great and all that. So that. That is something that I've been doing most of my career, I would say, at this point, is working with different various tactics to kind of make it happen.
Well, you know, this is, I mean, the. The power of mind and the manifestation that's all coming out of the new thought tradition. And that was huge in America in the 1800s. I mean, there were books written, there were teachers, and then again, it kind of went underground. But, you know, I love your story because one of the things that I see in my own practice working for clients around the world is that the most successful people all have magic, they all have astrology, they all have these sacred arts as their way of just going through life, you know, like, they all participate in it in some way, and it's like, it's like this secret that's out in the open that nobody talks about. And Octavia Butler, who was an African American woman and she wrote science fiction and fantasy. She has a great letter that she wrote when she was selling her first. I think it was her first. It might have been her second book. And it was, you know, it laid out exactly what she wanted, that her books would consistently be, you know, they would sell well, they would be on bestseller list. She would make enough money to buy a home for her mother and to buy a home for herself and to never have to worry about her finances. And you can just. You can read it's. They. The letter is out there. Like, if you do a Google search, you'll find it and you can. You can read what she wrote. And she was totally. That's what she was doing. She was absolutely practicing the art of manifesting. And she. And she did it. She did all of it, you know, in a time when everything was, like, stacked against her, like, they're. She should not have been successful. And yet she did it. She completely did it. And the gatekeepers were not able to refuse her awesomeness. So, yeah, it is the secret ingredient, I think, for so many people's success. And I love that story because it illustrates that.
Yeah, absolutely. And that was like, something that was totally new to me and I had never heard it before. And I definitely could have been like, this is crazy, and written it off as crazy because no one was talking about it at that time. But I just was like, what have I got to lose? You know, there's nothing to lose with employing some of these tactics and trying some of these things. Like, you literally, it's not going to impact you in a negative way. So.
Exactly.
You know, why not? So anyway, this has been fascinating. I feel like we could talk forever and touch on so many different things. So we'll have to do. I say this with so many of my guests, too, and then people are like, well, I want a whole nother episode with that person because, like, you never feel like you finished, really. So we'll have to do a redo. Maybe we can pick something in the future that will be something that we can really help people get through. Maybe like next retrograde or something. I don't know, you know, but where can people find more about you?
