AI Still Isn't You. I Don't Care How Well You Train It.

In this video, Trena Little recounts how she broke her long‑standing rule of never letting AI write any of her content after a demanding Instagram posting schedule forced her to rely on AI‑generated captions. She explains why generic AI‑generated captions and AI clone videos feel inauthentic and erode audience trust. Trena then outlines her disciplined, human‑first approach to AI: she uses Claude (via Whisper Flow) to capture spoken ideas, organize scripts, tighten language, and analyze business data such as email‑list timing, lifetime customer value, and live‑event conversion rates. She shares concrete insights discovered through AI—buyers join her list 7‑10 days before purchase and live workshops convert far better than passive products—allowing her to prioritize live events. Throughout, she stresses that AI can get you about 80 % of the way, but the final voice, tone, and strategic decisions must remain human to build trust, especially on platforms like Instagram where AI‑heavy content feels performative. She invites viewers to reflect on their own AI creep, and promotes a 20‑minute training that teaches clients to create a single weekly YouTube video that fuels a sales system.

I had one hard rule in my business when it comes to AI. AI never writes my content. No captions, no scripts, no stories. And this summer I broke that rule. Nobody made me. A posting schedule and trying to stay consistent in an unrealistic schedule is what broke me. So I wanna tell you how I fell into this trap of using AI for writing my content, where I've put my hard line again. And the way I think about AI and how I use it in my business to still be original and not just use it to pump out content, if that makes sense. Because we see so many people using it, shouting out from the rooftop, we need to all be using AI to create content. And I don't think that's actually true. So back in June, if you've been following my journey here, I decided to go consistent on Instagram. I wanted to post every day, Monday through Friday, and post a reel. I was also doing carousels Monday, Wednesday, Friday. And I told myself that I was not going to let AI write the captions. All the captions were going to be me, even the carousel, the carousel text or whatever you put on that thing was gonna come from me. And listen, I've got a boatload of content that I could throw transcript after transcript after transcript. That's my actual words that I could throw into AI to pump out content. But that's not what I wanna do because even when I do that, I still feel like AI's not getting the essence of me. And listen, I've done all the things they tell you to do to customize AI, make the skills, train it, all this stuff. It doesn't matter how great you train it, it still sounds like AI. So I started out writing my own stuff. Then I had to post again and again and again and again. And about halfway through the month, of trying to post Monday through Friday, I started to get AI to write my caption. Now, I didn't copy the caption. I took the caption, I redid it a little bit, changed some words, rewrote it, and then used it. That worked for a couple posts, and then I started falling behind again. And it would be like 9 o'clock at night. I had gone to soccer practice, picked up groceries, you know, done all those things. I'm like, oh crap, I gotta get a post out. So then I started just going to AI and asking it to write the caption, and maybe I changed one word, maybe I took out an em dash, and I instantly saw I'm breaking a rule in my business. And that's at the moment I thought, crap, AI is writing my content. In short, nobody called me out saying it was AI content, but I knew, and I didn't feel good enough with the content that I was creating because it It didn't sound like me. It didn't have my style of sass in my tone, but it passed. It was good enough. And I could see that literally being a slippery slope. And I wanna be really clear here, AI is not the villain in this story. I think, you know, AI is a great place for generating ideas. In fact, I'm gonna share here in a moment how I do use AI in my business, but what made me fall into using AI is because I ran out of time to keep up with the amount of posting you've got to do on Instagram just to get any type of momentum over there. Because a daily posting schedule on Instagram with a team of one, I actually have a full-time employee, um, and I have one other contractor. And even with that, it is so hard to actually live your life and have a sustainable posting schedule on Instagram at the level Instagram wants you to post. And I think that's why we see so many coaches, so many course creators, so many people on Instagram posting the same thing, talking about the same topics. So it's not that it's necessarily generic content, but they're all using the same thing to create the content that they're pumping out. And sure, it may be their original idea to start with, but then when they plug it into AI, whether it is ChatGPT or Perplexity or Claude, It's pulling from the same resources. So anybody is going to have the same kind of content on specific topics. And I think they default to that because you're being forced to pump out so much content. And it's not realistic to be creating daily content when you're a small team, or even when you want to be a small team. And while we're being honest here, let me tell you what I think about your AI clone videos that you see people doing, because These get me worse than captions. First of all, the generated AI content like swimming in the ocean or like climbing up a mountain as a cartoon. Seriously, that's how you're going to spend your time creating content. You're gonna spend your time creating some generic weird cartoon to get across your message and show your authority with a cartoon. It's not gonna work for me. Let me know in the comments, do you buy from people that use generated AI cartoons to sell their products or their offers? Or you put your AI clone in front of like the beach or climbing a mountain or some aspirational place. Look, I wanna create aspirational content, but I want it to be realistic. And I want you to see that I understand where you're at and I'm not so outta touch that I'm, Putting my AI clone in some Italian villa just to put on some front that I'm doing so amazing that I can jump to Italy whenever I want. Sure, I can go see a Harry Styles concert in Amsterdam and buy tickets for the next round over in LA, but I want you to see my life as realistic. And so that's me shooting here on my screen and porch. That's me shooting my videos in my car during golf practice because. That is what shows you what it's like for you. And I want to make that connection on a human level because at some point aspirational becomes out of reach. And correct me if I'm wrong, you want to learn, you want to be taught from somebody who gets you, somebody who gets where you're at right now, somebody who understands and isn't so out of reach from something that you're doing right now that I understand it as well. And it doesn't matter how great your AI clone is or how great you train it. Listen, People smell AI from a mile away. And every AI post, whether it is a generated video or caption, is just kind of letting your audience know you don't care enough to put your own humanness into your content. And if you don't care enough to do that, how can they trust you that they're gonna get a solid service from you, whether it's a coaching program or a course or a one-on-one service? So here's where my lines are, and this is what I teach my clients every day in the YouTube coaching experience. I think AI is a great tool. I think AI can get you about 80% of the way there. You guys, it is so humid out here. Um, I'm hoping we can get this done before I start sweating. The thing is, you can't let AI do all your content 100% of the way. So like I said, AI doesn't write my words. So like my captions and my scripts here on YouTube, actually how I do my scripts is I will pull up AI, and I'll tell you in a moment how I come up with content ideas, but I will talk to, uh, Claude. I use Claude and I use the tool Whisper Flow. So I just pull up Claude, I turn on Whisper Flow, and I talk about the video that I wanna do. I talk about the stories I wanna incorporate. I talk about the main points I wanna talk about. I share what I think the hook should be. And then what I let AI do is just arrange it in the right format, tighten it up, because I can go off rabbit holes if I just sit here and talk. And so everything in my script is my words. I'm not just telling AI or Claude, hey, go write me a YouTube video on XYZ topic. I'm literally saying it into Claude and then it's just cleaning it up and organizing it. So let's talk about topics. AI does not pick my topics either. Your topics have to come from what you're hearing your audience say, their actual words. And AI does not understand that as much as you try to get it to. You have to be able to pull that market research either from niche neighbors and topics they're doing that are performing well, or the comments that they're seeing on their videos, or the questions you're getting in your inbox. That is how you wanna be picking content ideas and asking Claude or ChatGPT to come up with content ideas is not going to cut it in 2026 and beyond. The other reason why is if you have a YouTube channel, you already know what your content should be based on your analytics. And Claude isn't always using that data to help you come up with content ideas that are gonna reach more of the right people or understand even who your right people are, is, Is, are, and it also does not have that history to look back at your YouTube channel and see, here's the type of titles that do well. Here's the style of thumbnails that does well. Here's the hook that does well. You have to take that 80% and actually do the research yourself. Look at your data on YouTube. Look at your videos that were performing well. How did you do the title? What did the thumbnail look like? How did you open that video? And then obviously I'm never creating AI videos. Period. Now, where I love AI, like I mentioned, I speak what I wanna share in the video and then it organizes it for me. The other place that I absolutely love AI is understanding my data. Listen, I am not a math girl, but AI genuinely helps me understand my data in my business faster than anything else that I've ever done before. So for example, I can take my list of clients that I have in the YouTube coaching experience. I can put that information into Claude and it's gonna spit out to me how long that person was on my email list. What is my lifetime customer value? What did they buy? How much did they spend? And I can get that instantly with AI so I can better understand what are the buying trends so I can focus on doing more of that. And when I did that, one of the things that I found out is that the person who buys the YouTube coaching experience, get this, is on my email list literally 7 to 10 days on average before they buy. So when somebody is buying my YouTube coaching experience, they got on my list within that week. That's how fast my buyers are to the YouTube coaching experience. The other thing that it told me was that I get more buyers from my live events, like my, uh, paid workshops, like my virtual conference. That is such a high-converting event for me versus my passive products, like my prep system or my video game plan, like my digital products. And so I focus more on live events because my data that I plugged into Claude showed me that as a fact. And the other thing that I was blown away by the analysis, as you know, I did, you know, 40-some webinars and recently I've done 3 paid workshops and I'm able to, to take the chat logs of all of those, plug it into Claude. And it analyzes basically the vibe of the room. It tells me like what type of person was in the room, what were the most common questions, was this the right audience? And to be able to get that type of information from hundreds of lines of chat that I'm not really watching cuz I'm teaching is invaluable, invaluable for me to improve the next time I do that workshop, the next time I do that webinar. And prioritizing, this has been really important because if you're anything like me, You have 101 ideas of the things that you want to work on. And so I will again pull up Claude, use Whisper Flow, and just talk about here are the things that are on my mind that I think I need to do and just brain dump and it will help me prioritize. And then of course I'm the human, so I get the ultimate choice, but it's gonna give me like the list of here's what I think you should do most based on kind of the history it has with me, what I wanna achieve, what my goals are, and then I can refine it. I can take it the extra 20%, cuz remember AI can only take you about 80% there. And this is why I keep telling you and anybody that will listen to me, YouTube is where trust gets built. Now on Instagram, that content is performative. It is full of AI slop and it makes it harder and harder for people to actually trust you even if you are being truthful over on Instagram. It's just what is going on on that platform. That's why I'm showing up here Saturdays on these less polished videos. I'm usually in my car with the AC today. You're probably seeing me start to glow and glisten more and more as time goes 'cause it is very hot out today. But that's real. This isn't something AI can generate. It is me speaking to you human to human. Trust is the whole strategy right now in 2026 going into 2027. And if you can't find a way to build that trust with an audience, you're never going to make a sale of anything that you have. So tell me in the comments and, and be completely real with me, where have you maybe let AI creep in a little bit too much in your business? Maybe what's the one thing you said, I'm never gonna let AI do this, and Maybe it is right now cuz it feels easy. Again, I am guilty. I've done it. And if you wanna see how I'm using these weekly videos and teaching my clients to do just one video a week to create a sales system on YouTube, I have an entire 20-minute training video. It's on your screen right now that you can watch and see exactly the system and the framework that I help my clients build for them and their business so they're not constantly chasing content, creating content, posting content to get consistent sales in their business.
