I Review 3 Business Owners' YouTube Channels LIVE (Same Mistake, Every Time)

In this live YouTube session, Trena Little reviews the channels of three community business owners—Chelsea, Courtney, and a third participant—providing a step‑by‑step audit that shifts the focus from typical YouTuber goals (more views, ad revenue) to business‑owner goals (lead generation, affiliate sales, client acquisition). She walks through each channel’s branding (banner, niche statement), visual consistency (thumbnails, colors, readability), content strategy (decision‑making evergreen videos vs tutorial/news content), and analytics (click‑through rate, audience retention, impressions, end‑screen clicks). Trena explains how to track conversions with UTMs and separate funnels, why Shorts are generally unsuitable for business owners, and how to build a “playlist funnel” of five decision‑oriented videos. Throughout, she engages the live chat, answers questions, and promotes her upcoming “Playlist That Pays” workshop (Sept 21) and a personalized coaching program limited to ten clients. The session emphasizes data‑driven decisions, clear niche definition, and actionable tweaks to improve YouTube as a sales engine.

I pulled 3 business owners' YouTube channels, and I'm going to tell you what I found out about their YouTube channels when I did some reviews. Now, these are, uh, individuals, business owners in my community, and when I dropped or posed the question, would you like me to review your YouTube channel for free, what I asked them to do was one, obviously share their YouTube channel link, Second, share what they're trying to sell from YouTube. And then third, what is the biggest issue that they are having with YouTube right now? So, those are the questions that I'm going to be answering here live. I'm going to walk you through the entire analysis that I did, and then I actually have a spot here at the end of this live for a third person who is with us live. I will review your channel for free as well. So, go ahead, say hello in the chat if you are watching. Let me know what you are wanting to sell from your YouTube channel in the chat. Go ahead and type that in the chat because that's going to help me if you get the option to have your channel selected to give me pers— to allow me to give you personalized feedback on your YouTube channel. So, the first thing I want to say is if you're first brand new to my channel, I am Trena Little. I hope I help specifically course creators and coaches use YouTube to generate leads, course sales to their business. So, the very first thing I want you to understand before I start to walk through these channel reviews is that, um, a YouTuber's job, if you are following YouTuber advice, which is what a lot of advice here on YouTube is about when you look up like how to grow a YouTube channel, how to get more views on a YouTube channel, a lot of that advice is for YouTubers. Now, the YouTuber's goal is more views because the more views a YouTuber makes, the more money they make on their videos. As a business owner, your goal on YouTube is completely different. Your goal on YouTube is to be found by the right person at the right moment, and then basically take them through a buyer's journey with strategic YouTube videos so they want to buy your endgame. And so, I see April, you teach coaches how to sell their offer from alignment. So, you want to attract people that would be doing that. And I see Coach Ambree, you are selling career and life coaching. So again, both of you, when you try to be something for everyone like a YouTuber, you go wide. And what wide does is it doesn't allow you to bring in the actual people that are going to pay to work in your coaching program. And I'm assuming all of you here today want people to work or want people to sign up for your coaching program or buy a course. Give me a yes if you're like, yeah, that's what I want YouTube to do. So, let me check my notes here. So, today, like I said, I'm going not, I'm not going to be showing these particular channels, these community members of mine, how to get more views. I'm going to walk through how to figure out what their videos are doing that aren't bringing in sales versus what they can do to start bringing in sales to their business. So, let me know in the chat, Are you here to be a YouTuber or a business owner? Type YouTuber if you're trying to get more sales. I mean, trying to get more views to monetize on YouTube. If you— or type in business owner if you want to use YouTube as a lead generator, as a way to build your email list, get clients, get sales into your course. So, I see from Amber and April. So, I'm assuming yes to business owner, right? No to YouTuber. Yes to business owner. Yes. Alright. So, the first channel I'm gonna pull up, and again, I'm gonna have some time here for questions, and then I'm also gonna have time to any other to potentially look at somebody's channel as well. This is just proof, you guys, that you don't have to be technologically advanced to do well on YouTube or build a business because I am not. This is why I don't livestream. It is something that I want to do more of. But we are working on it. We are getting there. Y'all can hear me. We got yeses in the comments. Okay, so let's go back to what we're looking at here with Chelsea. We are back on track. Um, so again, Chelsea is posting pretty consistently, right? She's been posting for months. Some of these videos are doing well. Some of them are getting just a few hundred views. So, we're gonna look at what Chelsea needs to do. As I said, she is selling Kajabi. So, she's trying to make affiliate sales. She is in the chat. So, Chelsea, you can go ahead and share, you know, specifically what you're trying to sell from your channel and how it's going right now. But what you told me in the community is that you enjoy creating how-to videos for Kajabi more than strategy videos, but know how-to videos aren't the best for YouTube. Adding case study info to your scripts is your biggest challenge, and I'm focused on my next batch of videos for the fall. Fantastic. So, what we want to first look at, and Chelsea, drop questions as I'm going through this. The first thing that I noticed is our channel banner right up here. This is our billboard, and right now, this is super busy, Chelsea, and when I see get 3 months for $99 on any plan, and that in red, I'm immediately kind of turned off because it feels salesy. What we want to do in our channel banner is just clearly state what our promise is for our viewer here. So, I would honestly take out helping online course creators optimize Kajabi or helping online business owners grow their Kajabi course, right? That's what I put here. Super simple. Nothing else. You're already confusing people. You have this YouTube channel, then you have available at onitvirtuelservices.com. It's too confusing. Just a clear, straight promise what they're going to get from your channel. And then, And that goes for everybody here too. Let me know, say yes in the chat if you have a clear, straight promise in your channel banner or not, because this is your billboard. When people come to your channel, that's what they are seeing. All right, so then the next thing that we want to look at, again, looking visually at things, your thumbnails do have a little bit of a brand drift. So, we have this tan one, tan one, we have some black, we have some blue, we have some red. So, the consistency and the brand on the thumbnails are a little bit sporadic. What we want to do is make sure we're building a solid brand presence on YouTube so that our— somebody who watches our video, if they are served it, you know, a week later, 2 weeks later, they recognize our content. They recognize our brand on YouTube. So, we do have a little bit of a brand shift, but nothing major. What I want to dig into now specifically is a lot of the data. So, if we look at Chelsea's data and we look at the tutorials and the product updates, so, like, Kajabi coupons just got a massive update, under 200 views. If we look at June 2026 updates, under 400 views. If we look at 50% off Kajabi provides, their last statement was false, less than 200 views. So, when we look at kind of these tutorials and product updates, They're not getting the momentum, um, and I could be clear from Chelsea here, do they drive you, um, affiliate clicks? Chelsea, you can let me know that for sure. Um, but when we look at the videos that are doing well, like Online Courses Are Dead, Here's What's Replacing Them, 8,000 views, or when we look at Is Kajabi a Sinking Ship, 2, almost 3,000 views. And then there was one more that I found, um, the price changes of Kajabi. Let me find that one too to pull that up. Was that earlier on? I just want to point that one out because I had my notes. I'd reviewed this channel, um, but there was one that was major price changes for Kajabi plans, and that one had 770 views. Here's what is important to realize. The difference between Kajabi's best deal ever, Kajabi deep dive versus online courses are dead. Every time Chelsea makes a video for someone making a decision, should I buy Kajabi? Should I trust this platform? That's where your audience shows up, right? They're not necessarily showing up for the tutorial stuff. They want to know their buying decision. Should they buy this or not? And that's the person that's ready to buy, the person who's looking at these right? Um, your buyers are raising your hands in the analytics, but then you just keep doing like, what's new in Kajabi March 2026, right? Does that make sense? Uh, I understand it was a hot topic. One other thing to realize, um, Courtney, yours is next, so hang on. Um, one other thing to realize is when you're doing a hot topic, it doesn't necessarily mean that your ready-to-buy viewer is going to watch it, right? Sorry, I was grabbing a drink of water. But you want to be focused on the content that is decision-making, right? We're not trying to attract everybody here. We are trying to attract people who are deciding, is Kajabi where they should invest or not? Because then you get the affiliate click. You get the affiliate revenue, right? And then the other thing when we do kind of monthly stuff like price changing in September 2025, or if you do like what's new in Kajabi this month, that's going to be dated. So, June 2026 updates, that's going to be dead in 30 days or less, right? This is an evergreen content that's going to keep helping you drive affiliate revenue. Does that make sense, everybody? Do we understand that concept that news content expires within 30 days? So, you're going to continue to be on that treadmill. Also, I read some, I watched some of your videos too. In your coupon video, you stop mid-video to ask viewers, do you even like these videos, or should I make something different? When you don't have a system for asking for specific comments that are going to create engaging conversation on your videos, uh, then you're kind of wasting that opportunity. And so, when we go to the coupon one, I believe it was this one right here, and you ask that question, You did get one person respond, but then you want to take it a step further and look at, would this person actually be a buyer? Would this person actually want to work with you? And even with just one comment, we know that that strategy of asking that type of question isn't going to work. You want to create and open up a conversation with people in the comments because every video should answer a question someone asks. Right before they buy Kajabi. All right, and that goes for anybody here. Any question or any video you create should be answering a question before somebody's investing in what you're selling. Too many audiences for us. We got to focus on the main one. Yes, we want to focus on the person for you, um, Chelsea, right before she says yes to buying from you. Alright. So, we looked at Chelsea's channel and the main things I wanted to point out before we jump to the next one, which is Courtney, is first of all, our thumbnails need to be pretty consistent. I know she said she's testing with thumbnails. Oh, that's understandable, but we want to be consistent with our thumbnails. Second, we want to focus our topics for people who are ready to buy. Just doing tutorials isn't going to bring you that audience. They're going to come, they're going to watch, and they're going to bounce. Then what YouTube sees is, oh, this is the type of person that likes Chelsea's channel. So, YouTube is going to keep sending her people that are going to watch tutorials and then bounce. Chelsea needs to focus on those more advanced topics. If somebody is wanting to hire her, and again, this could be 2 different options for her. Focus on the people who are wanting to hire you or focus on the people who are buying Kajabi, and then we need to create content specifically for that person. We aren't just creating any random Kajabi content because that's not going to drive us the right people. There has got to be that strategy. And if you're watching this thinking like, I make content consistently like Chelsea and I have no idea if it's the right content, if I'm attracting the right person, I am hosting a live workshop next Monday, the Playlist to Pay workshop. I've done this twice now and people rave about it. It's a 2-hour workshop where we will literally build your playlist. While we are live and you get to ask me questions. You can go to trenalittle.com/workshop to get a ticket for that live workshop next Monday. It's just 27 hours— 27 hours. It's just $27 and it is 2 hours with me and it is a workshop. So, we do the work during that 2 hours. So, that is next Monday at 1 PM and you can get a ticket at trenalittle.com/workshop. It is in the description box. Alright. So, Chelsea says that too many audiences for us. We gotta focus on the main one. Absolutely. Okay. Now, let's go to Courtney because Courtney has consistency on her channel as well. We're gonna make sure we do not share audio on this tab. That's a, that's a no-no. So, we're gonna look at Courtney's channel here and what we see is Let me make sure y'all can see Courtney's channel. At the very top, her channel banner, because this is our billboard, says, heal your body, nourish your mind, live your purpose, grab your free healing mindset mini course below. We want to keep this very minimal. Like I said, we want to focus on making it clear who this channel is for. So, you know, 5 words. 6 words max. So, with Courtney, I would say something like, heal your body. Oh, Courtney, you're here. Who is the audience you are trying to attract? We want to— so, she says, I help busy moms, professionals, and midlife women that are looking for support reducing these 2 things. The first thing I'm going to pull out for you, Courtney, is we're getting a little bit broad with our audience here. Is there a through line? So, when you say moms, professionals, and midlife women, so moms could actually be, you know, 20-some-year-olds, like brand new moms. Um, midlife women, I would assume, are in their 40s, right? So, somebody who's a new mom in her 20s, early 30s, is experiencing different things than a midlife woman. So, I would kind of just get a little bit more clear on a through line for who your audience is here. Because we need, first of all, when the right person finds you, they realize your channel is built for them. And second, we need YouTube to understand specifically who your audience is for. Um, and then you say, whether you're looking to heal from chronic symptoms or you're in a stage of building strength and longevity, we take strategic, evidence-based, practical approach that supports your body natural abilities. So, what I'm thinking, yes, The problem here is niching down. And this is a lot of problem. This is a big problem for a lot of the clients that I work with one-on-one. And one of the first things that we figure out in the coaching program where I work with my clients is who is this person? So you're dealing with joint muscle pain fatigue. Would you say this is more of the perimenopause women? Because then we get specific. Then we can start to explain to YouTube who we should be clustered with, who are the type of people to work with. When people come to your channel and they read that channel banner, then they say, oh, this channel is for me, and they keep reading the topics of your titles, right? So, that's why it's so important to be very clear on the niche and kind of plastering that niche on your channel banner as well. So, when people come to your channel, they know this is for them or not? Because when you say joint and muscle pain, migraine, fatigue, and gut issues, those are all different issues, right? So how does a person know that you are the right one for them? So one of the exercises that we go through in our coaching program is I want you to look at the last 5 clients that you had. And hopefully those were the clients, the last 5 clients that you had that you absolutely loved. And I want you to figure out why did they choose you? What about your messaging, your marketing, your content? Why did they choose you? And what specifically did they want help with? And is there some through line between that? So that's the issues that you want to— that's the research you want to do based on the 5, the last 5 people that joined you that you absolutely loved working with. What was the through line when it came to why they worked with you and what they wanted to get done working with you? Does that make sense, everybody? It's like finding that clear who this is for, what we are going to do. So for example, in my YouTube coaching experience, my YouTube coaching experience is for coaches or a course creator. So you have a coaching program or you have a course and you want to use YouTube to generate more leads. So, and I say this clearly on my channel, if you go to my channel banner, get coaching clients from YouTube for female coaches who want leads, not just views. And then I say it again, I help female coaches use YouTube to attract ready-to-buy clients and fill their programs. It's very clear, very specific what you are going to do or learn on my channel. So Courtney is saying, um, most women dealing with these things have They're all different issues, but most women dealing with these things have most, if not all, of these things going on the same time. So that's why I haven't niched down further. Yeah. So I think if we can figure out the through line, that's going to be really important because we don't want somebody coming for migraines and being like, but I don't have gut issues. We don't want somebody coming for— what did you say? I was looking at the notes. Yeah, so, we want to just make sure we are very clear. The goal is when people come to your channel, they think, oh my gosh, this channel was made just for me. This is exactly what I needed. This is exactly what I was learning. So, when they start to scroll down, when we start to look at your channel, then, Courtney, yes, Chelsea mentioned, while branding is consistent, the colors, the style, the thumbnails are hard to read, um, especially this, this cursive, this like, uh, writing is very hard to read. You need to realize a lot of people are watching YouTube on their mobile devices, and when they're scrolling through, that becomes very small, and so it's very hard to read. So, we want to make sure the text we put on our thumbnails are super easy to read. Now, what I want to look into is the data. We can see that Courtney is posting pretty consistent and getting around, some videos are getting a little over 100, some are getting a little under 50. So, it's kind of bouncing back and forth and we've been posting consistently. Now, Courtney said her biggest problem with YouTube right now is making sure it's optimized for her ideal client and growing her channel. So, the first step that Courtney, you're going to need to do is really get clear on who you're building a channel for. Because if you're spread wide and you're not sure, the algorithm isn't going to know, and then, um, it's just going to start throwing your content out to random people, and that's why that momentum is going to be slow. Um, looking at my notes here. Now, I want to look at specific things that can be affecting the momentum of your channel. When we look at your thumbnails again, we see Little White Lies We Tell Ourselves. This is so broad. We have no idea what white lies we're talking about, right? Nobody's searching little white lies at 11 PM, right? We want to dig into the problem that your ready-to-buy viewer is searching at midnight, at 1 AM, something she's so frustrated with that she has searched this on Google, on YouTube, on AI, and when she's scrolling the options and she sees little white lies, that's no context to what she's searching for, right? That literally could be little white lies we tell ourselves about eating healthy. We tell ourselves about being a parent. We tell ourselves about anything, right? Same thing with confused. What's their entire goal? Who is there? What is this goal? Is the goal exercising? Is the goal budget saving, like finances? Is the goal getting into a college? We've got to be very clear and specific because if our title, I mean, sorry, if our thumbnail is not being clear as to who should be watching this video, they're going to keep scrolling by. Um, and I'm sure if you take a look at your click-through rates, Courtney, it's really going to tell you if your title and your thumbnail together are getting the click. Ideally, what I work my clients to get to, we want at least a 4% click-through rate. That tells us our packaging is working. Anything below it, I work with my clients to finalize, uh, to come up with better titles, better thumbnails, We test thumbnails, and so that's really going to tell you, are these titles and thumbnails working? If they are above a 4% or not, I'm going to assume that we're not there yet. When we look at the titles now, yes, we're going to pop over to the titles. We need to be very specific of the problem. So, when you say healing isn't possible, stop saying I could never if you want to lower pain and increase energy. Lower pain for literally anything, right? This isn't really calling out a specific person. So, nobody's really searching this, like healing isn't possible. Um, nobody's searching I could never. We need to get into the brain, into the search behavior of your clients and build the content around that. So, again, when I work with my clients and what we'll do at the Playlist That Pays workshop on Monday, is really break this down into understanding how to pick a searchable problem and break it down into 5 videos to build a playlist funnel. The same thing with, um, what cravings really mean and how to use them to your advantage to help your body heal and thrive. Thrive is so generic, right? What thrive could literally mean anything. The other issue we are having is your thumbnails are so long. Um, YouTube generally will truncate these titles. If you go to your homepage on YouTube, YouTube will start to truncate thumbnails. And what I want you to see on my homepage, this is what YouTube assumes I'm going to watch. And what are the videos that they are putting here? Look how short the titles are. I stopped selling courses. This is what I sell now. Steal this email strategy and blow up your business. If you want to make a million this year, start a YouTube channel. You see how short and punchy these thumbnails are. They're very clear what you're going to get out of this video. It's very clear who's going to search this. Claude and CapCut is the only editing stack. Anybody searching editing or trying to figure out what they should buy for editing, right? Um, my kids are on my YouTube channel too, so we've got a lot of randomness here. Uh, I'm trying to pull out some other ideas. Um, So, Jade, social media marketing basic, no one tells you, but everyone should know. So, she's talking about social media marketing. That's really clear on who this is for, people who are doing social media marketing, people who understand what social media marketing is. That's how we really want to build out titles and thumbnails. You can see she says, this actually works, and she has all of those logos blurred out. So, we visually see social media marketing, as well as that, the title that gets attention too. Um, are those examples clear to help those of you that are here see how we should be capturing titles and thumbnails? Um, the other problem when we create similar titles and thumb— um, similar thumbnails, sorry, these all start to look the same. So, somebody may have watched one of your videos and then they come back and they're like, oh, I don't remember which one I actually watched, because they're all very similar and they don't necessarily stand out. Uh, and again, they're not really addressing a problem your person has. When health and healing feels lonely, how to thrive when those closest don't understand. How is she searching that, right? That's probably not how she's searching. So, we've really got to dig into the words, the phrasing, um, the vocabulary that your ready-to-buy viewer is saying, is searching. One of the exercises I do with my clients is we do a niche neighbor analysis. We look at channels that we think that our ready-to-buy viewer is watching that is similar to our own channel. And so, then, what we do is we look at what are the topics doing well. So, we could do like a Kajabi review. Let's just see if we can look at a Kajabi review. Then you can sort by channels. So, this is going to help you find niche neighbor analysis. You come up here to filters, and we want to look at channels. And let's just say we'll go with Kajabi in 5 Minutes, and we do a niche neighbor analysis. We can start to dig into— this is not a good example of a niche neighbor, but let's say he was getting more views. What you could do is then look at the videos that were getting the most views, And then, we could dig into the comments. So, we could go into here, and if you had comments, dig into what your ready-to-buy viewer is actually saying in the comments. What are the words that they are saying? What are the questions they are asking? This is why it's so important. There's a specific process that all of my clients go through to build their YouTube strategy to make sure it's built on data and facts and not a vibe. Making sure we're focused on picking the best topics, picking the problems people are searching. Um, that's what's really important. Otherwise, you're going to keep posting YouTube videos that just aren't going to win the view because we aren't hitting those topics. We aren't hitting those, uh, searches that our ready-to-buy viewer is searching for. Does that make sense? And then one other thing, Courtney, when I watch some of your videos, You spend a lot of time in the beginning of your videos talking, so to speak. Audience retention is critical on YouTube, and you should be in the meat of your content within the first 30 seconds of your video. And so, if you're going to promise a specific outcome in the title and thumbnail, you've got to be getting to that specific topic within 30 seconds. One of the ones I watched, you kind of share your story and talk about things that were wrong with you and things that happened to you. And I know you're trying to relate with your audience, but at that moment when your audience is watching that video, they don't care about you. They don't care about me when they're watching my videos. They care about what are you going to do for me that is going to help me? What are you going to explain to me that is going to help me, me, me, me? They care about themselves and we've got to get to that when you are in your videos. Otherwise, your audience retention is going to tack, going to tank. So, what we really realized here is while you can post a video every single week, just like Courtney is working on, if our title doesn't answer what problem is this solving and for whom under about 50 characters, we're not going to be selling from those videos. Uh, I'm going to open up to some questions here, but again, this is what I'm walking through in the Playlist That Pays workshop next Monday, September 21st. At 1 PM. If you can't be there live, there is a replay for you to watch. You have lifetime access to it. But when we are live, you can literally ask me the questions. We're going to build out a playlist funnel. We're going to pick a topic. I've got GPTs that are available too at the workshop where you can plug in the problems you think your audience has, and it's going to help you refine it to make sure it's really focused on searched problems. Um, and then we're going to build out the title and the thumbnail for all 5 videos in your playlist funnel during those 2 hours. So, you want to pop to trenalittle.com/workshop to get a ticket to it. Uh, it's 2 hours. Block the time off. I promise you will get a playlist funnel done. And with that ticket, you also will be allowed to send me your playlist plan, and I will personally review it, um, through a quick Loom review and give you my thoughts. Um, so, with that said, what questions do you all have? I know, um, Courtney, you are here. I know you're in the self-paced YouTube coaching experience. The videos are going to be helpful. I will tell you, my clients get the biggest jump in results when they have a human, me, reviewing their videos and their titles, their thumbnails, their audience retention. I already have on my list for today after this call, I have one client where she's done 3 playlist funnels. So, she's posted 15 videos and I'm going to do a deep analytic research of her channel. So, I'm going to be looking into her analytics, what videos are getting the click, audience retention, why are some videos getting good audience retention, why are others not, what is YouTube picking her up for, and giving her a full report on what this means for her next steps. So, that is something the coaching experience allows you to get. It is access with me. If you are interested in the coaching program, just email me, trena@trenalittle.com. Just put the, the subject line coaching program and I will send you all the details. We only take 10 clients at a time because it is literally me giving you feedback, me reviewing your content, me reviewing your titles, me reviewing your thumbnails, me reviewing your scripts, me reviewing your analytics. So, if that is something you're interested in, like I said, I'll put my email in here, trenatrinalittle.com, and then just subject line coaching program or coaching program interest and I can send you the details because what we have realized is ChatGPT, Claude can get my clients about 80% and then that human background, that human touch, that human review gets you to that 100%. It is hard to really do anything the best it can actually be with AI and that's why I do have this coaching program. That's why it is me. It's not another coach that works with you. It is me reviewing your work. It is me giving you feedback on your titles, your thumbnails, me reviewing your analytics, me reviewing your audience retention. We do a homeschool hybrid and my kids are home on Mondays. I don't know if I can swing 2 hours, but just retired, so maybe he can watch them. For sure. And the other thing is that it is, there is a replay. So, you will get the replay once it's done. And then you still have, you got about a week that you can send me the playlist funnel that you map out during that time to get a personal review. April, I'm so excited that you are ready for Monday. I will see you there. What's the easiest way to know which videos got us Kajabi affiliate signups? So, that's going to get you a little bit deeper into the weeds. One thing that I do is I track my traffic by YouTube generally. Um, I'm not in the weeds as per video. Now, there are different ways that you can do this. Absolutely. Um, one way is creating UTMs for every single video that you create and linking that UTM in that video and making sure that's the link people are clicking. So, what happens is I like to use the same link in my YouTube videos by saying go to trenalittle.com/workshop. Now, if I use that as a specific UTM, that would track all of my traffic from YouTube. If I wanted to do specific videos, I'd have to change that callout for every single video to know which video it came from. So, that's one thing that you can do, and you can create specific UTMs for every single video that you publish. That's how you're going to be able to know that. Questions? I have a few minutes for questions. I didn't get to a third one because I— technical difficulties. I went a little bit deeper into these videos than I had anticipated because I thought it was going to be super helpful. Let me know, what did you guys think about this? Was this helpful? Would you want to see more of these, like, weekly channel reviews, weekly deep dives? Let me know in the chat what you're thinking, what you liked. Um, what you would like to see more of. Uh, I am available for just a few more questions if you got questions to drop into the chat as well. I think I got most of those. Do we change thumbnails and titles for the videos that are already posted? You absolutely can. Uh, you'll want to look at click-through rate first. Uh, one potential issue could be that YouTube isn't pushing your content to people. So, you also have to look at impressions. This is why it's hard for me to just give a course for YouTube and say, hey, do this and you'll know everything about YouTube. My clients really like that I walk them through the entire process and I know what things to look at. And sometimes it's not always like a neat decision tree. So, what I will do is I will Loom record what I'm looking at in their channel and I will say, okay, let's look at your video. It got a 2.7% click-through rate. Okay, maybe that's good. Let's look at impressions. Oh, YouTube's only pushing you out to like 500 people. We have a distribution problem. Or we go into the traffic sources and we realize that actually what's pulling that click-through rate down is suggested videos. Maybe suggested video traffic is like a 0.2% click-through rate, but on the homepage, you're seeing a 4% click-through rate. So, there may not be a need to change titles and thumbnails. You may also want to look at audience retention. If your audience retention is tanking in the first 3 to 5 seconds, Sometimes it's not— the juice isn't worth the squeeze, so to speak, if the audience retention is tanking. Because you can get your click-through rate up, but if you can't get people watching your video to the end, it's still not really going to help because YouTube wants people to click on your video and YouTube wants people watching as much of that video as possible for it then to push to more people. And once that video is published, like, you can't really change the insides of the video. You can change the packaging as much as you want. Um, to a point, but if the audience retention just isn't good on that video, sometimes changing the title and thumbnail won't really help it anyways. I think a focus on one part of the process on a live would be great, like deep on one part. Oh, that's great. Thumbnail impressions are 7.2%, 77% from YouTube recommending your content, 2.2% click-through rate, engaged viewers. So, um, looking at average view duration, So, it's not terrible. Um, are you getting signups to your email list, Courtney? Are you getting client inquiries? Um, because initially, like, without digging in, like I said, there's a lot of different data on YouTube that I look at for my clients. Initially, these numbers don't look terrible. Um, 2.2% click-through rate, again, is overall. I don't know if that's for Um, search-based traffic, suggested traffic, browse page. Um, so that can be skewed a little bit. Getting your videos in front of over 7,000 impressions is fantastic. That means YouTube's distributing you. The problem maybe is that you're pretty wide. So YouTube is sending you to a broad-based audience, and that audience isn't the people that would buy from you or want to work with you. So the next thing that I would want to look at And this is something we'll talk in the workshop too. There's like these 4 rungs that we want to look at before we move to the next problem. So, the first problem is always going to be click-through rate. The second problem is audience retention. The third problem is going to be end screen clicks. And then the fourth problem is going to be, are you actually converting people on that sales page? So, are you getting people from YouTube to your sales page, to your landing page? And what is that conversion rate? Um, stop doing Shorts. If you stop doing Shorts, absolutely stop doing them. Um, I personally don't think for business owners Shorts are where you should be spending your time. Um, business owners who are selling a course, a coaching program, your audience that is going to buy is somebody who's going to watch longer form content. Um, short form content is for entertainment. People are going to spend a couple hundred dollars, a couple thousand dollars, they're going to spend time watching your content. And they want to watch a lot of your content before they make a decision. So, I don't even do Shorts. I don't recommend my clients doing Shorts until a certain phase in the YouTube strategy. Um, I have a Meta ad for my workshops. I think most are coming from that, but a few from YouTube. Yeah. So, that's going to be really important to track. Uh, you have to be able to track that to know if YouTube is sending you traffic or not. One thing that I do, if I'm running Meta ads, it is a completely different funnel. It's a completely— it may look like the same page, but it's a completely separate page. So, I can separate what I'm getting from ads versus what I'm getting from YouTube. And so, I can see, one, are my ads working for me and converting traffic, or is it my organic doing it? Because if you don't know, if there are no sales yet, if you're sending YouTube traffic to the same page as your ads, you could be getting sales from YouTube, but your ads may be contributing in as sales from ads. So, you really have to separate those. Those are again something that I talk about with my clients is making sure we're really tracking where your traffic is coming from to make sure your YouTube is working, to make sure your ads are working. So, I just, I have 2 separate funnels and when we run ads, the only traffic that goes to this funnel would be ads traffic and the traffic that goes to this funnel is organic like my YouTube and I only use that link for my YouTube videos. So, I know all of this traffic is from YouTube. So then you can even get so detailed like, oh, I see people that come from my YouTube. I found this at the end of 2024. People that come from my YouTube videos, they convert at 30%. When I looked at Instagram, people that came from my Instagram content converted at 10%. So what decision did that allow me to make? I could quit Instagram because it was converting at 10% versus YouTube is at 30%. I would wanted to just focus on getting more people from YouTube to the page since it's converting at 30% versus hamster wheel content over on Instagram when it was converting at 10%. Yep, just duplicate it. Absolutely. Okay, so let me know what you guys' biggest takeaway was from this livestream. If you're catching the replay, I would also love to hear what your biggest takeaway is. If you want to build your playlist funnel with me live, make sure you do sign up for the September 21st Playlist That Pays workshop. It is at 1 PM Eastern Standard Time, Monday, September 21st. The link is trenalittle.com/workshop. It is a 2-hour workshop. It's hands-on. We're going to build it out. You're going to be able to ask me questions. I also have specific GPTs I'm going to provide to you during that workshop as well. And then I will be back here, I believe, in 2 weeks. I do want to start doing more of these. I would love to hear your insight, what would be helpful. I think somebody said going into one specific part of this process would be super helpful. So again, just give me feedback on what you would like to see, how you would like to get this information. I know I can be a fire hose. I've got so much information about YouTube, but I want to hear how y'all want to get the information received. I think it's tough since no sales from YouTube yet, so I feel like I need to keep creating shorter form to stay front and center, but I'm so tired of it. Yeah, absolutely. And so again, you don't know if nothing's coming from YouTube if you don't have Google Analytics and you're tracking that. So, it's going to be really important. If you don't know if you're getting traffic from YouTube, then you don't know if you're getting sales from YouTube. So, something to keep in mind. And I love talking about tracking data. I love talking about making decisions off of data. I love, you know, diving into all of this stuff. So, maybe that's a future topic we talk about here as well. But thank you guys so much for showing up today. I do hope I see some of you. I know April, I will see you Monday at 1 PM. I hope a few other of jump in because I just love building these playlist funnels and this has been one of the best workshops that I've hosted. The feedback on these workshops have been off the charts and so that's why I keep bringing it back. It was initially a one-time workshop that I've now brought back for the third time because I'm just getting so much feedback. Can you do it again? Can you do it again? That was great. Can you do it again? So, hopefully I'll see you there. Otherwise, have a great week, you all, and I will see you here on my YouTube channel in the future. Thank you guys. Have a great rest of your week.
