100 DAY AD SCHOOL DAY 10

Your job search is a direct-response ad. You need three things: an offer (your skills), copy (your résumé), and design (how you look in interviews). They all have to match or the ad fails.

Your alarm's blaring, 10 AM. Shoot, you're gonna be late for— oh, wait a second. You sit up, no job, no boss, no one breathing down your neck. And in a way, it kind of feels nice. That is until you check your bank account. Ritz crackers and 2 popsicle sticks. That's what you got left. You open up the laptop, blank doc, cursor blinking. You need a job, but this isn't just about slapping words on a resume. You're selling yourself to a potential employer, which isn't much different from making a winning ad. For both, you need 3 things: offer, copy, design. When it comes to selling yourself, The offer is what skills you bring to the table, what makes you worth hiring. The copy is how you present those skills in writing so people care and want more. They want to interview you. The design is how you actually show up. It's your presentation. It's how you carry yourself to match what's on your paper. And I hate to be that guy, but your book will be judged by its cover and everything else that you say or do will also be judged. Now, when it comes to selling a product, your offer is the features, the pains that you're solving, the solutions that you provide. Your copy is the written content that captures attention, that communicates value and persuades the audience. Your design, those are all of those compelling ads, landing pages, and all the other visual elements that drive immediate sales and ultimately measurable conversions. So going back to it, offer, copy, and design, the three essentials of direct response. This is the 100 Day Ad School. Tomorrow's about making good offers, so make sure to give me a follow to become a marketing savant.
