Job statuses are a great way to keep track of the work going through your system, stay on top of unpaid invoices, and prioritize what work needs to be done next. On the web portal's jobs list, you can see the status of each job on the right-hand column over here, and you can even click this button to order them based on their current status. To add your own custom statuses to better suit your workflow, you'll want to head to the settings cog next to your name in the top right-hand corner. Once you've done that, click Manage under Service Reminders and Email Templates. Then on this page, if you scroll down a little bit, you'll see an edit button under job status. In gas engineer software, there are several default statuses that you cannot edit or delete. These include completed, follow-up needed, in progress, not selected, and to be invoiced. However, you can add as many as you like to better suit your custom workflow. So for example, in this video we're going to add an awaiting parts status. If we click on the green add job status, then we can write awaiting 'Parts' as the name and give it a description if we need. So, 'This job is putting on parts from the supplier,' and then click Save. You'll now see that our new custom job status is in this list. If we ever wanted to come and delete it or edit it in future, this can also be done. Now, from the jobs list, if we were to click on any job, we can change this job status here to whatever it needs to be done. Please note that archive jobs cannot have their status changed, but that's about it.
