In this segment of the YouTube video "Apprenticeships are a brilliant idea that don't really work," Speaker A acknowledges that apprenticeship programs are conceptually excellent but often fail in practice. The speaker notes a widespread reluctance among participants to voice negative experiences due to fear of isolation, yet observes that across national competitions and various colleges, the challenges are remarkably similar—some institutions fare slightly better, others slightly worse, but overall the system is in the same problematic boat nationwide.

They are a brilliant initiative, but realistically they don't work that well. But a lot of people are sort of scared to share their experience in the fear that they're alone, but to be honest, everyone's sort of in the same boat up and down the country. Like you touched on, my national competitions, I met people from up and down the country, and in every college they had a very similar— some slightly better, some slightly worse, but it was all sort of in the same boat.
