By the end of this video, you'll know how to connect your accounting software to Gas Engineer Software and automatically sync customers, invoices, and payments. Gas Engineer Software integrates with Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage, and the setup process is the same for each. To use these integrations, you'll need access to a supported accounting plan and the Gas Engineer Software Pro Plan. Start by logging into the web portal. Click the settings cog in the top right corner next to your name, then select Manage under Integration Settings. Choose the accounting software you want to connect: Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage. In this example, we'll connect Xero. You'll be redirected to your accounting provider to sign in and allow Gas Engineer Software access. Once connected, you'll return to Gas Engineer Software where you can configure a few settings. Select the bank account and decide whether to sync customers and invoices. Click Save when you're finished. If you're connecting Xero, you may also be asked whether you want to import customers from Xero into Gas Engineer Software, as this integration offers a two-way sync. If you choose "Yes," the import will run in the background. From this point on, any new customers, invoices, or payments created in Gas Engineer Software will automatically sync with your accounting software. This is the standard use case for the integration, keeping your bookkeeping up to date automatically as you continue working. If you've recently set up the integration and need to sync historic data, our team can help run that process for you. If you need to import data from Xero into Gas Engineer Software, please contact our team and we'll assess with the process. That's it! Your accounting software is now connected and ready to keep your records up to date automatically.
