How to Schedule on Gas Engineer Software

Learn to create and manage calendar events in Gas Engineer software on both web and mobile. The web portal lets you filter by day, week, or month and assign engineers to jobs, while events automatically sync to the mobile app where you can toggle between all events and personal-only views.

In this quick guide, we'll walk you through creating an event in your schedule or calendar. This can be done in both the web portal and app. Let's start with the web portal. Open up your web browser and navigate to the portal. At the top menu, click on Calendar. This view is perfect for admin staff and managers who want an overview of upcoming work. Here you can choose to view between day, week, and month. Or view your calendar by engineer here. You can also filter by specific engineers over here. To create a new calendar event, simply click on any available space on the calendar. First, select an activity type. For this example, we'll book a servicing job. Next, choose what customer this job is for. If it's a new customer, click the plus on the right-hand side and add their details. After that, you need to select the job address. Again, if this is a new customer or new property, you can add a new job address directly from this window. Then you need to add it to a job or create a new one. The activity notes are where you can provide more information to your engineers on i.e., Boiler in the Cellar, assign it to an engineer, select an activity outcome if applicable, although this is normally chosen by the engineer, set the time, and you're good to go. The mobile apps share the same calendar, and any event created on the web portal will sync across. However, our app is intended for use in the field. Rather than a month view, the default is set to a schedule view. Here you can see all upcoming jobs for the day. You can also click the burger menu in the top right to change to day or week views, swiping left or right, or clicking on the date in the top left corner to change it. In this menu, there is also a toggle just to view only your events. To create a new event on the mobile app, simply click the red plus in the bottom right corner. Fill out the activity type, start and end dates, assign it to an engineer, add any notes, and connect it to a customer, job address, and job. Don't forget to hit save when you're finished.
