A gas technician can voluntarily suspend their GasSafe registration if they feel unprepared for inspections, then reinstate it later. This protects both your reputation and public safety, and beats attempting work you're not ready for.
Chapters
Look, well, if you're happy to volunteer, you know, voluntarily suspend your registration until you're ready, and then you can ring up GasSafe and we can reboot you back in. You know, there's nothing wrong with that. If you don't feel ready, then you, you, let's say you're not doing any gas work, you know, you're new to it, you're not doing, then you can speak to GasSafe and just say, look, I don't think I'm ready yet. What you don't want to do is jump into an inspection where you are underprepared because that could end up coming off worse, you know, than if you actually spoke to GasSafe and said, look, I'm happy to voluntarily suspend my registration until I'm ready for an inspection. You can do that.
