In this video, I'm going to show you how to update a customer's details or job address on an already issued certificate or record in Gas Engineer Software. The easiest way to do this is to head to the web portal, and once you're on there, either click on the customers list or the job address list depending on what you want to update. In this example, we're going to click on the customers, although if you wanted to update a job address, the process is pretty much identical. So we're going to click on the customer that we want to update We can search for their name to find the one quickly. And once here, we can simply update any of their details. So for example, here I'm going to add a company to this customer. Now if I click save, that's updating that customer's details in my system. Process for job address would look pretty much the same. I would simply search for the job address or the customer, make any changes I need to, and then click save. Now, once we— what we want to do is to find the record that we want to update. To do that, either from the customers page or the job address page, click on history. Once we're in history, you can see all the associated activity related to that job address or customer. Click on the certificate or record that you want to update. So for example, here we're going to click on this homeowner gas safety certificate, then we're going to click on edit. Now you can see that it's added to the company which I just added earlier, and then without making any other changes, I can either click Approve, which will just reissue the certificate, or I can click Approve and Email, which will issue it and then send an updated copy to the customer. In this case, I'm just gonna click Approve, and you can see the customer's details have been updated on this record, and it's as simple as that.
