Gas industry professionals should consider heat pumps now. Recent advances have made installations simpler and cheaper, and UK sales jumped 50% in the past year, creating strong demand for installers who learn the technology.
Now is a really good time for people to start thinking about heat pumps if they weren't already, if they're in the gas industry. I think historically we've seen that heat pumps meant a lot of retraining. They're really complex machines, finicky tech that's hard to get working. But that's all changing pretty rapidly with technology. It is possible to do much less disruptive, much lower cost heat pump installations, and that is bringing higher demand with it. We've seen an uptick, I think, around 50% in heat pump sales over the last year in the UK. And so it's a good time to do it.
