Service vans stock spare parts so technicians fix problems immediately instead of leaving customers waiting. Adding solar, gas, and heat pump services would require carrying so many more parts that it could slow everything down and hurt the quality customers rely on.
we go to a new customer and we say, oh, this part needs replacing. And the immediate response is, oh, so I'll see you tomorrow then, or I'll see you the next day. And we're like, no, we've got it on the van already. And people are shocked by that. So that's something that I'm quite proud of, that we do have quite a good stock. But as you say, if we were branched into solar, gas, air source heat pumps, and we start keeping spares for them, not only is it more of an expense on the company to have that stock sat there on the van, but also we are spreading ourselves so thin that we won't be able to give the same sort of service to, should we say, the originals. Like the regular customers.
