Episode 93: Celebrating 15th Anniversary of MLC with Celebrity Doctor Chiropractor Marwan Chahayed

In this episode of the California Life Podcast, host Victor Migalchan sits down with Dr. Marwan “Dr. C” Chahayed at the headquarters of MLC to commemorate the clinic’s 15‑year anniversary. The conversation traces MLC’s evolution from a single office in 2015 to six locations, including the newest Sacramento clinic, and highlights the systematic, holistic approach Dr. C applies to chiropractic care, business operations, and patient workflow. Dr. C explains how he blends clinical excellence with a B2C‑B2B‑insurance model that satisfies patients, attorneys, and insurers, and how his rigorous training and entrepreneurial mindset shaped the clinic’s efficient documentation and scheduling processes. The dialogue also covers Dr. C’s personal pursuits—bodybuilding, acting, music, community service, and his role as a church choir member—and how these passions intersect with his professional life. Plans for the anniversary celebration are outlined, featuring a documentary, an Animaxi animation of Dr. C’s character, and new youth‑focused media projects (The Common Sense, MLC Show with Dr. Beast) aimed at mentoring younger men and women. Finally, Dr. C discusses his partnership with his wife Tatiana, the clinic’s General Manager, describing their coordinated schedules, mutual respect, and strategies for balancing family, business, and community commitments. The episode ends with an invitation for listeners to reach out for further knowledge sharing.

Welcome back to California Life Podcast, and we are again with Dr. C at the headquarters of MLC. Dr. C, thank you for having us again.
Thank you. I appreciate all the effort that you put in and all the opportunity to make us heard and seen out there. You've been amazing.
Well, sir, it's a pleasure. Thank you. Dr. C, this year we Have a very exciting thing to celebrate. It's the 15th year anniversary of MLC.
Yes, sir.
And I've been recapping everything that we've done together from our first meeting almost a decade ago. And then we filmed season 1. I think this is Mrs. Tatjana and you better pick up the phone. Very good. Back to our backstory. I've been recapping everything that we've worked together a little bit since 2015 when we met the first time, a decade.
Yes, sir.
And it began with our little interviews for News of the World.
True.
It was my first thing with you, which I did for— I ran a show, Real Deal Hollywood, back then.
That's right.
And I was Extremely bad looking, skinny, and then thanks to you.
I don't know about that. You've always been good looking and healthy and tall. Very good looking.
Tall, yeah, but skinny, you know, and who likes that? But thanks to you, it improved a lot. And then we've done magazines and we've done My American Family this season and Life Academy on air. You name it, multiple shows, multiple episodes here and publications, your documentary. You've grown from one office to 6. Congratulations on the new one in Sacramento.
Thank you so much.
Thank you. How, if you look back, what do you feel? How do you... What would you say about this 15-year journey that you've had?
Thank you. It's been an amazing journey. We started from scratch very much. What helped me throughout these years is my name. I've been blessed for having a good name in the industry and in the community for being a good physician and being out there and available all the time for for my patients, for people who needed my services. So that catapulted me to become busy and grow each year, business-wise and on a social level as well. And I got to meet you and meet a lot of good people like yourself. throughout the journey. And I have grown in many aspects of life, from business to my passion as a bodybuilder and the bodybuilding community. And also opened my horizon to experiment with music more and other sports. So I've been very blessed for the past 10 years. past 15 years. So it's been a great journey.
Acting as well. You forgot to mention acting.
Well, thanks to you. I mean, if it wasn't for my brother Victor here, I wouldn't have been in the acting or in the eye of the media as much because of him, actually. And I really appreciate you. And not just for that. The relationship has built with you, the brotherhood, the friendship, The camaraderie, and it's been amazing journey. Thank you.
It is a blessing. Thank you, sir. And, you know, I'm just doing God's work with my hands, and that's the mission, because you have everything. You are the diamond, and I'm just—
You're too kind. I appreciate you.
I'm getting the message and I'm delivering the work.
Thank you, son.
Well, how the most recent office that you've opened, Sacramento, how How did it go for you? If you could compare with your other experiences opening offices in Almonte, in San Bernardino, in the Bay Area, here obviously it's probably the biggest one.
Correct.
Now this is the most recent office and the most recent experience. How did it feel comparing to all the others?
Well, definitely it's an interesting experience trying to to venture out to Northern California more. As you mentioned, I'm already in the Bay Area. Sacramento is a different animal or different territory. However, I had to figure out why do I need to open there. Actually, it was supply and demand where business people that I have associated with throughout the years who have approached me and said, Dr. C, we need you there. And I said, why Sacramento? I'm already in Oakland. You know, he said, no, Sacramento in particular, the capital, we do have business. We need a qualified doctor who— Doctor of chiropractic. Doctor of chiropractic who will understand the business, understand the right treatment for the people in the community, people injured in accidents, any type of injury, to say the least. So they needed my expertise, and I feel blessed that I was asked that question to be there. So I was obliged to open that office and equip it nicely and make sure I find the right doctor who follows my footsteps and my technique. And so that's been interesting and exciting for me, and hopefully it will take off and Maybe in the future we'll open more offices somewhere else.
Definitely. Well, it took off quite well, and I love the design. It looks really, really nice. I mean, all the offices are really nice, cozy, and I think it's a combination of cozy and modern a little bit. So, that was a really, really nice job. And what I've also heard from your colleagues, Lawyers in particular, that it's not just about the great skill of a doctor that you have when you offer to the community, but also the workflow. Many other doctors, even if they were decent, obviously not comparing to yours skills, but the workflow is a problem. Documents, all this side is a problem. Exactly. And they all complimented you and the way you trained your team. How did you create this system that works, that helps the lawyers and other partners of yours with this site, with documents, with this flow?
Very good question. It goes back to when I was in school as a student. I was blessed to be like the top of my class and I wanted to be the best doctor I can be. So I attended every single class, every single hour, didn't miss out to make sure. observing and absorbing all the information possible so to become a better physician. And I knew during school, the only thing they can teach us is how to be a good doctor. Mm-hmm. And of course, I had to learn down the line, I had to take it a step further to learn to be a good businessman as well and understand how the needs of the attorneys who they'll be referring business to me, like the personal injury, to be exact. What's required? Like I said earlier, it's not just being a good doctor, it's good enough. You need to be a good businessman and have a better flow of business and make sure you have the right staffing and teach the right staffing. First of all, more than anything, is to be a good functioning clinic to really care for the patients, to have the right and the most bright business model so the patient get the best care possible. After that, to follow is to make sure that the scheduling, the reporting, it's right on. So the attorney would want the, The patient would be taken in the same day, injured the same day, not like, oh well, busy, come in, well, have the patient scheduled for a week after. Never. So we take the patient in the same day, even if we have to stay after hours to accommodate the patient, because they're, again, they're in pain, they're not gonna wait. So then when the patient is done with the treatment, I make sure they're happy, that they will return down the line. I'll also spread the word that, hey, I went to this clinic that really took care of me, and I'm well again. So when they tell the attorney that, hey, look, thank you for sending us to this doctor, the attorney is elated to know that, hey, look, there's a good doctor out there who did a great job, and they sent all the records in time, and everything is correct. Never a mistake, thank God. Because I believe, as you know, that if you do sloppy work, you're not going to get any business in the future. they're going to forget about you down the line. But if you do good work, their clients are happy and they're getting excellent reporting and all the documents make sense. And so they're successful, I become successful. So I get more business down the line. So it goes back to when I was in school and had to really attend extracurricular classes and courses, how to become a good businessman and not just a good doctor.
I've dove and tried to study what's behind this question which I just asked you. And I think I've rewatched your documentary a few hundred times. And when it's running, I can probably speak with it exactly one on one.
I'm sure.
What you just said sounds like just simple common sense because you have to take care of the client, I mean, the patient, which is, let's say, in business terms, B2C. But you also have to properly take care of the party who is sending it, the client, to you. So, it's B2B. And also there is another party involved, for example, the insurance. So, it's a system.
Correct.
And it sounds like common sense that, well, We take care of the system, but not really many people do that. And in fact, probably you're the only one. And it was my in my head: How is that happening? How do you figure it out? How do you see it? And then in one of our interviews, remember, which we record after having a nice chat and a cigar, you explained to me that in your case, when you do chiropractic care, it's not just fix the
The spine.
The spine or the bone, whatever is needed. You look at the eyes, you see if maybe it's not cancer or any. So you have this kind of holistic approach.
Exactly.
Which you explained to me you needed to study everything in medicine to be able to see the whole system. And it might not be what is on the surface, that pain in the back, it might cause by other things.
Very true. We go toward the cause, not the symptom. And that's exactly it.
And it's a part of systematic It's not just targeted or local, it's holistic systematic approach. And it seems to me that you took this approach just into the business side. This is your personal thing. So, that was my thought, my discovery, but you definitely shared a lot more. With this anniversary, What do we have planned? Or, I mean, you have planned?
Well, of course, Tatiana, the GM, happens to be my wife, my loving wife. She's extremely organized and she's passionate about the business, passionate about having a nice anniversary for the company. So, she's been planning for the past few months to make sure stands out. Make sure the people are invited, that, you know, key people and people will have a great time. We'll have a little bit of a documentary, maybe small documentary about the history of our business from day one and how did it ascend and grew to 6 offices. The key people who helped us And absolutely, you're up there and we appreciate you very much. You made a huge difference in our lives and our business as well. So the stuff that, and all the hard work and never complained, never said I can't or I'm too busy for you. You were always there, even not just here. If I needed something up north in my office, any of the offices, you're, you're the next day you're there. So I, I couldn't have asked for a better, uh, colleague, brother, and a friend. And I really appreciate you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you, sir. You've been amazing. The feeling is mutual. And, uh, we'll make sure to document your, uh, celebration. And a little spoiler that, um, your character and MLC will be also in Animaxi Animation. So we'll also combine the True Story of MLC and animated story, which you will be probably as muscular as you are in real life. I'll get myself a little bigger. But you have this huge love towards art, whether it's music or art pieces or film animation. And together we also started the MLC, show with Dr. Beast and another one for our platform, The Common Sense, to help the youth. We've also discussed with you creating a show to groom younger boys, younger men into a better man. True. Some other stuff to help the ladies. How do you see Making all of these things and everything as a system impacting the future generations, having your obviously expertise, experience, and making these shows together for the youth.
Thank you. I mean, definitely I have passion for teaching and passion for spreading whatever information I have. Even with my patients, my loved ones, my friends. And I always wanted to share and I always wanted to learn. So I would love when people share information. I'm always welcome, always have open ears. I always want to learn because maybe in the back of my mind, I wanna share what I'm learning. Yeah. And that's what it's all about. It's not about taking information and be selfish. And if we don't spread the word, the education and the learning, you're not doing justice to the community or to yourself. So I would like to do more for the community, for the young people, men and women. And I would try to expand my knowledge in that particular science. So I'm always learning, I'm always reading, I'm always researching. And whether it comes to nutrition, comes to psychological health, physical health, the exercise, of course it's the whole package. So I look forward to doing more stuff too, to be able to teach and do more episodes and more teaching segments. I think I'll be more than happy and elated to do that.
Well, I think it's a great mission and, you know, you don't charge people for sharing the knowledge, which makes it even greater. And I only hope that everyone who gets this piece of knowledge from you truly appreciates that as at least half as I do. Thank you. Because no one can do as much as I have this feeling of appreciation.
Thank you.
But for the kids especially, our Jocelyn, Ian, and the other younger mentees who you met and you will meet in the future. That would be a great help because I think that the younger generation now needs that a lot.
Very true.
With even such a simple thing as common sense, which is not as common anymore. With being so busy, Working, patients, helping people, your community work, you sing in the choir, you serve at the church, or it's a cathedral now, not a church, right? You serve your community. How do you maintain this balance of also spending time with your family? Because you have a beautiful family and it's very strong together.
Yes.
How do you do that?
I like to prioritize in general, you know, so Like some people, they have hobbies. They like to watch TV for 3 hours, 4, 5, 10 hours a day, or be on social media for 3 hours on their phone. Right. For me, I like to prioritize. I think my family comes first, of course, and my passion to my work, my business, my patients. And after that, definitely my community, either my church or volunteering work in many places. I developed that passion and God gives me the strength and energy to do that. And then so I allocate my time according to a priority. So like I said, family, my business, and then the community. Then I allocate some time for music. And so And of course, the bodybuilding, definitely it has to be there because bodybuilding and exercising is a huge element and a big part of my life to make me a better person. Not just aesthetically, not just to flex and look big and better, but also to make me think better and have a healthier mind. Like they say, healthier body and healthy mind, of course. So that's why I wake up at 5:00 AM every morning. As you know, you've been to my house and we woke up together to go and work out. So I wake up at 5:00 in the morning and sometimes I go to bed at 12:00 AM or 1:00 AM. And so I have a small window for sleep. As much, whatever I can sleep is fine because I think I can accomplish a lot throughout the day. And I wish I had like 30-hour days or more. Now I can do more, you know what I'm saying? It's not about chill and relax and have a drink. As you know, I don't drink and I don't smoke. So I like to stay active because active makes you healthy and you feel your life is full. And there's so much to learn, so much to experiment, whether it's fun or business-wise or even taking on new friends and new people in the community or new people from church. Always welcoming I never say no, you know, kind of like you. I never say no to anything. I always, I always, I'm gonna extend my help, my hand to people who need it. Or if they needed my information, they needed my professional help, I like to be out there. So again, allocating my different times for my day, I'll be able to— Squeeze in here and there so I can fill in, fit everything into my day schedule.
Right. The thing that you mentioned, we both wake up quite early and I enjoy it. I would assume you enjoy it as well.
Very much.
By the way, the best coffee, the best sandwich, healthy sandwich. And please correct me if I'm wrong, but it seemed to me that Mrs. Tatiana, your wife, the GM, the General Master, she has a little bit different schedule. True. How do you combine that, having different biorhythm, different schedule? Does it create any conflicts? Like in the morning when you have to wake up and someone wants to sleep?
Actually, no. I respect her time, I respect her daily habits and her energy because she puts a lot of work, a lot of effort into make sure the company is running. Yeah. So all the logistics, all the paperwork, all the report, most of the taxes, account payable, receivable. There's so much going on, whether it's a personal level or the business. So she does a lot. So sometimes she, when I go to bed by midnight, she's up at 3 in the morning on her laptop working. Yeah. So she sleeps in, you know, a little bit later in the morning and I am on my tippy-toe, wake up and make sure I don't wake her up and I do my thing. And we have that agreement. So we respect each other's space and schedule. So, man, I cater to her needs. So when she's home working, I do everything. I even run errands. I go to the market, as you know, I buy groceries. I do whatever needed. I run to the bank and make deposit. Whatever she want me to do, I will. Because I know her time is, it's, It's valuable and it's all from home. But if she needs something, I'll drive her even. I'll make the time to drive her wherever she needs to go. So there's mutual respect. Once you have respect, understanding, and communication, everything's smooth as that.
Right. That is obviously fantastic. I would like to still dig into that little detail because when people are awake, they communicate. communicable, even if someone or, you know, one or the other party might have some emotional, slightly emotional reaction. But in the morning when people sleep, you know, we get awake maybe a little with a little delay.
True.
And sometimes someone might have this emotional reaction like, I'm sleepy, why would you wake me up, right? How did you make this work with, with Your significant other would.
Yeah, thank you. Yeah, so yeah, like again, I respect her time, I respect her needs in terms of rest, nutrition, supplements, whatever she takes, and I support her. So she thinks it's better if she works a little bit later, like let's say till 1, 2, 3 in the morning, 4 in the morning, and I'm sleeping. I respect it. So I'm quiet, I do my thing, and she does her thing. So let me sleep. So when I wake up early and She barely goes to bed. I take care of her. I make her tea, breakfast. I put it by her nightstand. And like I said, I'm on my tippy toe. I don't make any noise. I just get myself, I get everything ready the night before. So when in the morning I don't have to slam doors. And so because I respect her sleep and her rest is important. So, and also I leave a note, I love you and I'll see you later. You know, so every morning it's a standard. So we have that mutual respect. mutual respect and understanding. And again, the communication is really good on every level. Her and I, we communicate on a regular basis, whether on a business level, social, or regular social level, life in general. We're very good communicators, and that makes our life a bit easier, not easy. And also our love stronger and
Right, right. Also, the sense of humor. Whenever I recall the joke about being baptized with you, it always brings a huge smile on my face. Dr. C, thank you so much for your time today. We'll again, we'll keep coming because you are just like that well without the bottom. Thank you. Thank you so much. And I am blessed to be able to transmit it to the audience so they can be better, grow better, make things better. And, you know, the more people could borrow from your knowledge and put it into life, the better world will become. So thank you
for that. Thank you very much. It's my pleasure. And anything I can do for the audience, anything I can, any help, I think I'm sure there's this means of getting hold of me through Victor, and I'd be happy to answer questions via email, via DM. You know, I'll make myself available because again, I like to share knowledge, or if somebody knows something, would like to teach me, I'm open. So I appreciate you. God bless you. We love you.
Thank you. Thank you, sir. God bless you.
