Welcome to the show, Danette. I'm so excited to have you here. I first just have to tell you, I don't know if your team told you this, but the, the backstory of how I actually came across your work.
Oh no, they have not shared.
Okay, so, um, in 2017, I think it was, I did one of your 30-day challenges. Oh, I literally, I literally still have like the recipes and like the whole ebook like printed off. I remember the bliss balls and the lemon water and everything. But anyway, I— it was one of my first experiences of investing in myself. And I thought about making— it was like $50 or something like that.
Yeah, it was like $47 or $27 even, maybe.
So I thought about making that investment for like 3 days because I was like 22. I was broke. I had just moved to Spain to be with my boyfriend, and I had this English teaching job, and I was making no money at all. And I was in a— I was in a struggle with my relationship with my body. And I came across your work and I did that 30-day challenge and it was like such an introduction for me. And I've told my audience this before, so they'll appreciate having you on the podcast today, that that challenge like changed my relationship with my body forever.
So that makes me so happy to hear.
Wow.
Wow. Yeah.
Yeah. And being now, you know, being in the, in the coaching space because at the time, you know, I had, I had no idea, I had no context for these things. But being on the other side now, I know how easy it is to feel like— to not really see or be able to touch the impact that you make. And so I didn't want to miss out on the opportunity to share with you that.
That's so sweet of you, and thank you. And I love that because, you know, if that— I always say that food and honoring your body is such a gateway to this world that you and I are living in now, which is creation and understanding this power that lies within us to create and to intend and to manifest. And so I, I really feel like food is such a huge amplifier to that. And like, understanding the power of your body and having reverence for your body and deep love for your body, it changes everything when it comes to everything else in your life. And so I love that for you. Makes me so happy to hear you guys. That, that 30-day challenge is on my website, and it probably still is like that inexpensive. And the reason was is because we had over a million people do that challenge around the globe. That thing went like gangbuster, and I wanted it to be the cost. I think there were at one time it was $47 because I only had $47 that I found in my couches when I was in my transformation. And so I was like, I would like to make the program $47. Sometimes it was like $27, but regardless, you're getting way more value than that actual cost. I just wanted to make sure everyone could afford it.
Yeah, yeah, no, and that was me. That was like me scraping pennies together, like, I guess I'm gonna spend $47 on this thing. I have no idea if it's gonna work.
I love that. Yeah, yeah.
And it was, it was such a catalyst for me in my personal growth journey and my relationship with my body. So I love that. To kind of go off of that, I guess I'm curious to know, was there an experience or a time in your life where you had a challenging relationship with your body? Like, how did you come into that work of wanting to share these practices and principles with people?
Yeah, you know, mine is a little different journey because I think some people create programs because they were maybe overweight or there was this, like, self-destruction with their body. Mine is— mine was subtle. And what I mean by that is I actually always had loved fitness. I've always been really curious about foods, but it required my downfall and a lot of my hardships for me to go, wow, this has actually got a different meaning. Because at the time, I was a trainer back when my son passed away, and I was talking a lot about, oh, move your body, it'll help with depression. I was also jumping on this bandwagon of, like, Wheat Thins or reduced fat Wheat Thins, soy milk. I just was missing the boat, basically. But I was training people and I was touting this stuff until my son passed away. And this led me down a deep path of depression and just wondering who I am, brain fog. And I started to then really have a deep respect for superfoods because I couldn't get out of bed. And because I had a little girl to raise, I was like, wow, I've got to figure out— plus I didn't have a lot of money. I couldn't make 14-ingredient meals. So I was like, what superfoods are going to help me just maybe with depression? What's going to help me get this brain fog going? Like some type of motivation. And I started playing around with it and researching it just to get out of my own mess. And then I realized, wow, So many women are going through difficult things in their life. How can I help them around this concept that I'm discovering within myself? Because I started sharing with my clients, they started seeing— I started having them work out less. I'd be like, okay, you're going to pay me for an hour session, but we're going to be together like 1/4 of the time. And they'd be— and I'm like, are you cool with that? Because I'm going to show you a new way. And they were like, I trust you. And they were seeing even more results. And I was like, I'm on to something. And I just knew I wanted to help women and show them how it can be simpler.
Okay, so I have something I think you're really gonna love, and your business is gonna love it even more. Do you want to steal the strategy I've been using to seduce premium buyers and sell out my offers on Instagram Stories? Chances are you're already posting, you're already making sales, but if your Instagram Stories aren't working as hard as you are, you're leaving money on the table. Sold Out Stories is going to teach you exactly how to change that so that you can sell out any offer at any price point. And even high-caliber coaches miss this because selling on stories isn't about how much you post or how frequently you show up face to camera. It's about psychological sequencing, and the way you're posting right now might be giving the premium buyers in your audience the ick. Documenting your day and hoping it builds trust, posting look-at-me content and calling it authority, sharing client wins as soon as they drop in instead of strategically weaving them into a story-selling sequence designed to drive demand and convert sales. We both know that you're not here to learn how to show up more. You're here because you know your content could be converting faster and more effectively. Sold Out Stories is going to give you 5 high-converting story selling frameworks built specifically for premium buyer psychology. Inside, you'll get over 6 hours of deep dive video trainings, real IG story breakdowns, and live walkthroughs that show you exactly how to elevate your slides from authority building all the way to offer flow in less than 10 slides. My clients have already been using these frameworks to pull 5-figure sales days while posting less. One client generated 14 premium leads from a single story sequence. Another sold out her event in under 6 hours with just 8 strategic story slides. No sales calls, no paid ads, just the right frameworks. You'll walk away knowing how to sequence for desire, transition into your offer seamlessly, and sell daily without ever feeling salesy. You already know your offer's incredible, so now it's just time for your stories to sell it like it is. Grab Sold Out Stories today and turn 10 slides or less into your highest converting content. Let's make your next story, your most profitable one yet. Click the link in the show notes below and I'll see you inside.
Yeah, I remember that was so interesting because I was in such a— when I took your challenge, I was in a place of really like forcing myself to go to the gym all the time and trying to do these hard, intense HIIT workouts. And little did I know, the HIIT was actually making my cortisol levels and my stress worse, and it was making me hold on to more fat. And it was just like so revolutionary to be like, yeah, do this like 15-minute thing, like on the floor of your bedroom and then meditate. And it changed so much for me. But it does, it does really work. You, you alluded to some of the parts of your story and the challenges that you've been through, losing your son. And I know that you went through divorce and you were a single mom and there was a lot of times where you struggled with money and all of that. And I think you're really someone who's proof of being able to rise from the challenges that life throws your way. And I feel like I've noticed a sort of a, a thread, if you will, across some of these various themes, even like Mormonism and how you grew up in a really strict religious household and your first marriage, divorce, miscarriage. And that thread is, is intuition. So I'd love to ask how intuition has played a role in these pieces of your story? And can you talk about the conditioning maybe that turned you away from your intuition, what that looked like in those pivotal moments of having to make decisions and maybe feeling the intuition but not, not knowing how to lean into it and, and respond to it?
Yeah, I want to first say that everyone has intuition. I think there's some people that wonder if it's really in them and that some people might be gifted with more intuition than others, and it's simply not true. We come with massive intuition into this world and And the truth is we're all programmed. And I think I mentioned that a little bit when I was interviewing you on my podcast, but I was like, there is so much programming that's happening from the minute you take your first breath to— from your family. And it's all a lot of times in good, good, uh, good standing, like they want the best for you, but you're programmed how you should think, dress, act, believe. And what happens over time is this intuition gets dimmed a little bit because you're in an operating model, you're in a system of trying to stay in your tribe. And I think I want to allude to that because if you can't be honest with yourself that you're programmed, I don't really think you're ever going to tune into your intuition. You're probably never going to really tune into the potential that lies within you because that's what you have to start deconstructing, is where am I programmed and where The stuff that I'm being taught, is it absolutely true? And that's where my journey started, because I, of course, had intuition, but I was tuning it off a lot because I wanted to stay in the tribe and because I wanted to be liked in my community. I wanted to be liked in my religion. I wanted to be liked in my family. I wanted to be included. And therefore I had to march to their drum. And it requires you stripping down and going, what is my drum? And what is the tune I want to play, and what is my truth regardless. And that, when you start playing in that realm and you start unraveling that, your intuition gets louder and louder. And when you start to eat better, and when you start to move your body, which I know you and I share that together, when you move your body, your intuition gets turned on louder. That's why I believe a lot of people resist exercise, is because the soul— there's like this edging your soul out. That's where you're like, I don't want I don't want to eat well. I think I'll eat this dead food because we're so scared of our light that we will just choose these other paths instead of the light, which is moving our body, which is eating well, which is speaking loving words, which is meditation. All these things are going to help tune on that intuition. And so for me, it took— it was a journey. It was a journey of unlayering and discovering and making those daily choices. And the intuition will get louder. And that's what happens a lot for people that are eating well and moving their bodies, they will start to hear their intuition. And then you have to act. And that's also hard.
Yeah. Yeah. Can you talk about that through the lens of— I know you've spoken about your first marriage and how that was something like you just spoke about, of wanting to be liked and stay in the tribe and follow the path that people are telling you is the best path. And so you want to trust them, you want to believe them. But in doing that, you are outsourcing your trust and you're actually not trusting yourself because you knew something different inside.
Yeah, yeah. And you guys, it's so sneaky. By the way, I wrote a book called The Rise with Hay House Publishing. So if you want to read about this journey, I really shared vulnerably in there and I share all of it about this journey to following my intuition and this journey with divorce and stuff. Yeah, you know, there, there's this power that lies within all of us to, to grow and to expand and to listen. And it doesn't really come in the waves of saying, oh, you need to listen. It comes sneaky. It's really, really sneaky. And so that's where the stillness, that's where the honesty and the daily inquisition of yourself and that time with yourself is really paramount because it is sneaky. It's not so in your face, and you have to get real with yourself every single day and tune out the noise of other people.
So speaking of the, you know, daily inquisition, I want to— I want to ask you about your soul time, if you're willing to share some about that. Um, connecting, having space in your day to connect with the infinite field or channel wisdom from your higher self. Can you just explain, like, what that morning practice is and, and how it's helped you really amplify your business and your life and your relationships.
Yeah, it's— I call it soul writing. You can call it whatever you want to call it, but it's really me communing with me, knowing that if I truly believe that this— whatever created the galaxies and whatever created the stars, and I'm looking out my window at all these magnificent trees and even to the flower bud, to everything that looks magnificent, if that creator created me then am I tuning into that energy field? Am I tuning into my higher self? And it's all one, right? So it's up to me to have belief in that, and it's up to me to have communion with that. And so every morning without fail— did it this morning— doesn't matter whether I'm on vacation, I commune with my higher self. And it's also communing with my creator, obviously, right? Because I'm created So I'm just asking, what would you have me know? And I'm writing it down. And sometimes some things come up and other times I'm just kind of journaling on things that have happened or dreams that I've had. Or sometimes I feel sticky in the morning. I don't know if other people do, but sometimes I feel sticky. I— when I say sticky, I'm— I can tell I'm not in the highest frequency. And so I will journal on that. I will look into what are the thoughts that I'm thinking to create the stickiness in my body. And I'll ask myself, is that thought true? And then I'll do thought models. So I'll like even just write about, okay, if this thought is not absolutely true, that's creating this sticky feeling. What thought do I want to have? Because the thoughts you think are going to create the feelings you feel, and the feelings you feel are what are the energy currency around you that is attracting things into your life. And so I do a lot of that in the morning, a lot of inquisition around What would Spirit have tell me? And also, what are the thoughts I'm telling myself?
So yeah, yeah, yeah. Because sometimes, you know, I think especially if you're someone who does a lot of work on yourself, it's— we can get in the trap of feeling like I've already done the rewiring of beliefs, or I've already done the affirmations. But it is, you know, yeah, it's never ending, uh, and there's always something there. So I love that. I do, um, it part of my morning journaling practice. There's a— there's an affirmation piece, and it's different every day because I really just— it's like you said, rewriting the belief. So I feel into my stickiness for that day, and I go, how would I rewrite this? You know, what is a more beautiful way to frame this or to think about this? And I write 3 affirmations for how I want to feel.
Um, that's good.
Sometimes they're— sometimes they're really specific. Like, if I've been feeling distracted or focused, it's like a super specific affirmation about how I'm gonna, you know, be laser on my to-do list or whatever is different every day. But yeah, tuning into that stickiness and then choosing to transmute it and, and change it into something that's actually of service to you. Right. I wonder, I'm so curious to ask you about your journey in terms of as we speak about beliefs with money and abundance, because you went on a journey from, you know, scraping pennies together, as we said, from the couch cushions, to, you know, having a huge successful business, millions of dollars, like, so impact all these things, a beautiful home, you've got your Zen Den. Like, what do you think were like the pivotal things that really shifted your relationship to money and helped you get on a better path?
You know, once again, because we just recorded a podcast together on my podcast, and I feel that there are different areas in our life that we can be really good at when it comes to creating and manifesting. And other areas you're like, wow, this isn't coming that quick. Why is that? And back when I started my business, right, I was coming out of divorce, I was coming out of depression. I was understanding that I had something that I felt could help a lot of women. Not only was it helping me and my clients, but I was like, okay, I have something, but I'm not sure how to get this out in the world. And it felt like the right people came, the right marketing person came. That stuff kind of came quick, right? But I realized I had some deep money stories because I grew up in a family that we had enough, we definitely ate, and we had a beautiful upbringing. But there was always kind of a conversation around money, around not having enough. And we didn't go on trips, we didn't do a lot of stuff with a lot of money. So I realized for me, even though women were coming into the programs and I had all the right team people in place that I had to change because money and impact kind of go hand in hand. And you can't— you typically don't have a lot of impact without a lot of revenue. It just doesn't— it just works that way. And I think that's kind of the currency that happens in our world of when you are helping and serving. And so I realized, I was like, wow, I get to change my money story. And be okay with making amount of money because there was a story within me that said that the wealthy people aren't genuine, that wealthy people are selfish, that wealthy people are— they don't understand what everybody else is going through. I had a story about wealthy people, so I was like, oh, I got to like really look at this because money's coming in and I'm going to either push it away or receive it. So what I did is I read a lot of books. I read Wallace Wattles, like he's passed on. I read from the greats of the greats back in the day. Florence— I'm trying to think— Shin. Florence Shin. Why am I blanking on her name? But I read just tons on money mindset, not so much about how you invest your money, but more around how do you use the quantum to create it and get over this story. And I remember reading this passage that said, um, it is unholy for you not to make money. And coming from a religious background, that for whatever reason I needed to hear. It was like, you, if you have a good heart, you need to make money because you're going to make a lot of— do a lot of good with it. Because it's not going to change you, you're just going to do more good with it. And so why should you not have enough? And it was and it was unholy of me to like keep pushing it away. And I was like, okay, I'm ready to take this on. And that just changed everything.
Yeah, it's like Chris Harder always says, which I'm sure you're familiar with, you know, the world gets better when good people make good money. Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. Yeah, no, thank you for sharing that. I think a lot of people can relate to that, especially we hear like the, you know, the cheesy ones of like money doesn't grow on trees. But I think the beliefs about wealthy people's intentions and their genuineness is a really common one for a lot of people. And so if you're someone who's listening and you resonated with that, I think it's a beautiful reminder and opportunity to go, yeah, like, I'm going to work on that story. I'm going to heal that. I'm going to find all the proof against that so that I can be one of those people that has incredible impact in the world because I have the resources to do so, because I can give bigger. Because I have more and I'm in overflow. So yeah, I love that. Yeah. When it comes to business, because you've, you know, in this process of, you know, changing your money story because your business is moving and growing and you've built multiple businesses and a beautiful life for yourself and your family through that, I'm interested— I'm interested to hear your take on the sort of metaphysical side of business. And you mentioned, you know, the books that you were drawn to were the sort of like energetics behind money more so than the, you know, bro marketing of like, here's how to invest in the stock market, which, you know, this is the, this is the audience for that because that's, that's kind of what we love. So let's talk about business for a second. But how do you infuse manifestation and the metaphysical into your your business to help it grow and flourish.
Yeah. And I love this question because I get invited to speak at a lot of business conferences because of the success of the 3 businesses that I've been able to create. And the question that I wish, because they want to know about my funnels, they want to know about 1, 2, 3 steps you did on the external. And I'm like, golly, you're missing the boat, everybody, because these funnels funnels, they live and die all the time. Funnels don't actually get the long-term results. And the funnel, yes, the funnel is a piece of it, but it's all the metaphysical work that I'm doing and driving towards it's created this success because I believe you can be anyone. There's a proven model to be successful in business. I actually think anyone can do it. You have books, you have internet, you have step-by-step courses. Anyone can do it. And I know some people are like, how dare you say that? Because I haven't been able to do it. And I'm saying The reason you probably haven't is because you're not working on your mind and you're not working on the internal stories and the metaphysical energy. And I believe some people are successful in business, but their health is crap, their relationships are crap, their peace and their solitude is crap. And I'm like, why have a successful business when all of that gets deteriorated? And I'm here to say that you can actually create it all. It's just using the metaphysical. You've got to use energy source. You've you got to use quantum energy to be able to have really good health, to be able to have really powerful relationships, to have peace of mind, to have that personal relationship as well as successful business, right? So, um, I love talking about it because of that reason, um, because I don't feel like I've, um, ruined my health or my relationships in this quest and, and what I'm going to be continuing to create. Um, but what I do is really quantum jump. I do quantum jumping. And I know that sounds kind of maybe— I don't know. I don't know your audience, but I will every day. Every day. Because I think it's so fun. It's as fun to me doing it every day as if it's actually in front of me because it's that real. And I will, I will go because I get ideas just like probably everyone listening about what I want to create. So let's just take, for example, my superfood company, which is Earth Echo Foods. That was like— there was nothing. There was nothing. There was nothing. There was no farmer. There was no fulfillment company. There was nothing. When I was thinking about bringing raw ceremonial grade cacao infused with all these different superfoods into the world, there was nothing created other than it was in my mind. So I would every day, I would jump to the scene in my mind of so millions of people around the globe drinking it. Drinking it. And I would be in their kitchen, like, watching them drink it. And I would be seeing their depression, you know, get better, and them feeling more tuned in and feeling in the heart frequency. And I would see them connecting with their loved ones, and I would see them being able to focus and write. And I would quantum jump into different people around the world, right, of where I saw it when this wasn't even out. And I would quantum jump into a random fulfillment center and imagine what it would probably look like. And I do this all the time. I quantum jump into my future body. I quantum jump into these businesses I'm creating now out of nothing. And I really believe there's a power in that when it comes to building business, is quantum jump into that business and just play around in it as if it's already happening. And it's so fun that you just think it's already happening and then it does. So it's really wild.
Yeah, I mean, the power of visualization and mental rehearsal. There's so much scientific research also to back up the fact that the more that you work on those neural pathways in your brain by visualizing it and seeing it and especially feeling it, the more likely you are to see the opportunities that you need to reach out and grab in order to make it happen. The more likely you are to take action. Like things really— I think sometimes we dismiss the power of just, oh, visualize it. It, but actually it is part of the formula. Of course, there's other things involved and of course, you know, there's a lot of the tangible action steps that you have to take. But it is good. It's good to see really successful people be honest about the fact that they do use these modalities to help them grow in their businesses. And they're not just woo woo or whatever, you know, is the trend of people saying like, that's not tangible online or what have you. It is, you know, it's been a huge cornerstone of my own success. I started out teaching manifestation because when it started working for me, I was like, holy shit, everybody needs to know this. Yeah, yeah. And I think that happens for everybody. Once you feel it, once you see it happening in your life, you're like, wow, everybody needs to know. I mean, that's why it was called The Secret, because it was like, this is a secret that needs to not be a secret anymore, right? Incredible. So the last thing that I want to ask you about is Manifestival, because we recorded an episode for your podcast which is called Manifestival. But I know that Manifestival is an actual thing. It's an actual event. And this is one of those things that you probably quantum jumped into, seeing it happen, seeing all the people, seeing everybody dancing, the music and all of that. So I even just for myself, I'm like, okay, are— am I invited? Like, where do we find the event? Like, what is Manifestival?
Yeah. And this is cool because we're talking on this episode as I'm kind of in this bridge phase. So it's so fun to be able to talk about because I'm still in the bridge of the true creation that I see in my mind. And I put on two manifestos already, but they were smaller. I mean, they were not to what the vision is and where I go every day. And honestly, you guys, this vision of me standing in stadiums and I would hear music and I would see people moving and I would see people healing. And I would see these unified intentions coming together. I'm like, I don't have music lessons. I don't know where this is coming from. So this went on for a few years, and I just think it's important to say that because sometimes we think we get caught up in time, this illusion of time, and we can get visions. And it, in our human mind, to talk about time, it can be years. And I would be like, I don't really know how this is. And then I was— when I actually— that's why I love when you said you're taking a break. I decided, I told my team, I'm taking a year off off from creating any new things. And they were like, yeah, good luck, Danette. That is so not you. And I was like, hold me to it. And actually the vision for Manifestival started coming in hot. I started seeing people in stadiums and sound frequencies, ancient sound frequencies infused in sounds that you actually want to dance to. I saw that our bodies were antennas and that we were actually taking intentions with these sound frequencies. People would come in with intention to heal a certain part of their body, completely walk out healed because of the container. People that wanted to have a baby, wanted to— whatever the intention is, these sound frequencies and these visuals that are now— now I know because I've been doing lots and lots of research— are actually scientifically proven to be amplifiers within your body, to literally shift the dendrites in your cellular makeup. So, and now that we've done two ManaFestivals, it is— it's a dance movement experience with visuals and sound frequencies. You won't necessarily hear them because we infuse them in dance beats that you like to dance to and you just have a blast. And we know this is a formula for manifesting anyway, but it's been eye-opening for me because we have had crazy stories where I'm talking people that have had literally doctors, they've already had cancer, they're in remission. The doctors are like, you have the cells again, come into Manifestival container and walk away a week later going to specialists saying, there is no cancer cells. Like, we don't even know if you had cancer in the first place. Like, crazy stories. People that have been wanting to have a baby for 10 years, like, done everything, pregnant. We're, we're hearing these stories after stories, and they're really magnificent. And I, I'm just on this train of honoring this call, and, um, it will be in stadiums, so you'll hear about it. I definitely want to invite anyone and everyone Right now what's happening is I'm getting invited to put on Mana Festival, which, by the way, Mana Festival didn't even exist when I got invited. This is the power of quantum jumping. I got invited to the largest biohacking conference in Amsterdam to put on Mana Festival before Mana Festival even existed. Put it on a biohacking summit with 800 women in Denver, which you guys can learn about if you go to manafestival.com. You can find out what events that maybe you can go to, but I'm kind of getting invited now and that's filling up the schedule. But I do have dreams to create my own space and containers, but I'm creating the container at those venues. But yeah, we'll just see. I really see big stadiums with this.
So incredible. I love the use of, of subliminals. Like you said, it's like in the music, but you don't necessarily hear it per se. And even just what we were talking about when we recorded on your show of our body being the antenna and how movement really can connect you to that, that magic of, of source. Like you combine dancing and movement and healing with those sounds and the frequencies. I mean, yeah, that sounds like my ideal retreat experience. I'm like, sign me up, sign me up for Manifestival. But speaking of Manifestival, if you guys want to go over to Jeanette's podcast, It's also called Manifestival. You can tune in. We recorded an episode as well on her show, and I've been enjoying listening to your guests and the conversations over there. Yeah, it's awesome. So let everybody know, please, like where they can find— like where do you spend most of your time online? Is it Instagram? Like where can they find you? How can they learn more about your work?
Yeah, you know what's interesting is I— well, I think a lot of people are probably like, what's this 30-day challenge if they haven't? You can go get that on my website at jeanettemay.com. I would say if you want true me, you really want Danette and what I'm— the discussions I'm having now, people with like— I'm discussing things with Samantha is go to my podcast because that's me. I can't delegate my podcast. I can't. That's me. And I know you agree with this. That's where you're going to get me and my raw and my emotions and what I'm feeling and navigating and interviewing and hearing. And so I would say go there. That's where you're going to get the most from me is on my podcast.
I love that. Thank you so much. We'll link everything in the show notes for you guys so that you can connect with Danae. And if you enjoyed— with Danae, that's fine.
