MONEY SERIES: 6 Tips for Calling in More Ca$h
31 Mar 2021 · 32 min
In this solo episode of the Makeshift Happen podcast, host Samantha Daly (entrepreneur and life‑coach) shares six actionable money‑mindset tips aimed at helping listeners attract and manage more wealth in 2021. The episode opens with a personal update about launching a new website and hiring an assistant, illustrating how delegating technical tasks can free mental space for growth. Daly then walks through each tip: (1) stop taking financial advice from people who embody a lack mindset; (2) don’t wait for a larger income before learning to manage, save, and invest money; (3) budget for things that bring joy rather than only cutting costs; (4) get intimate with your finances by knowing exact income, expenses, debt, and savings; (5) give your money a clear purpose by defining specific goals and the why behind them; (6) actively ask for what you want—raises, price increases, or new opportunities—rather than hoping they’ll arrive on their own. Throughout, she weaves in law‑of‑attraction principles, cites a lottery‑winner bankruptcy statistic, and references Tony Robbins on wealth conditioning. Interspersed are promotional reads for the “Sold Out Stories” Instagram story‑selling program and the upcoming “Cosmic Cash” four‑week money‑mindset course, both with calls to action, listener giveaway details, and encouragement to leave reviews. The episode blends personal anecdote, mindset coaching, and concrete financial practices for female entrepreneurs and anyone seeking an abundance mindset.

So before we dive into today's episode and these 6 tips for calling in cash, I just wanted to give you guys a little update 'cause I am so excited about it. My new website that I've been working on for over a month with my graphic designer, she's been doing the majority of the work, let's be real. But the new website that she's been working on for me is finally done. Like I paid my last invoice to her Everything is like ready to go. It's set up. Like there's just a few tiny little things left before I can reveal it to you guys. Actually, by the time you're listening to this episode, you like, I may have already revealed it or whatever. It's not even like that big of a deal to be like revealing my website, but I am so obsessed with it. Like it's so cute. I love the way that it looks. And I talked about this in a previous episode. I'm just like so blown away and in gratitude for the fact that like I have had the opportunity to be able to hire someone and help me create a website that I am truly obsessed with. Because when I started my business, I was just doing everything on my own. I mean, I just finally— hallelujah— I just finally hired an assistant. So starting Monday, I'm— by the time you're hearing this, it's already happened, but I will no longer be a one-woman team and I will start to have some support in my business. But up until now, it's been me, myself, and I, like just me doing all the things, wearing all the hats, learning all the tech stuff, like doing all of the things that even, you know, don't necessarily come naturally to me, right? When you start a business, it's like maybe you have a skill or some knowledge or something that you want to share, and you're really good at, at, at doing that. But there's a lot of other things that come along with that, that are going to help you share that message or get it out into the world, or, you know, be able to earn money doing it. That there's a lot of other skills and tools and, and things that are required that maybe you're not that good at, or that you also you don't like or that you actively hate. Website building is one of the things that I fucking hated. Like, it was just such a time suck for me because I would have to spend so many hours on YouTube and watching tutorials and going through all of the website's like help articles and support and, you know, reading through all the grueling steps and then reaching out to tech support and being like, how do I do this? Waiting for a response. Like, it was just such a long process to be able to get a website to look the way that you wanted to look. I started on WordPress and then I moved to Squarespace, and that was a lot better, and I was happy with the way that it looked at the time. But then that just started to feel really boring and bland and stagnant, and I wasn't in love with it. And finally I was like, I am now at a place in my business where I get to spend thousands of dollars on my website and just be like, please help me with this. You are an expert in this. You know how to do it, so I'm just gonna give it to you, right? Like, so it was such a privilege and an opportunity, and like, I sat in so much gratitude over that during the whole process of like, holy shit, like, this looks so much better than I could have ever made it look. And fuck, like, I'm just so grateful that I get to do that. And yeah, I think there's value in not being able to do all of that right off the bat, right? Like, we have to kind of figure it out and do what we can with what we have and take all those steps and just keep putting one foot in front of the other. And then, you know, eventually we get to the place where we get to do the things that are easier and they feel like they flow more and it's more expansive for us. But it's not always just like day one you get to do all those things, right? Sometimes we have to be willing to stick it out and trust the journey and show up anyway, even though we don't know how to build a website. That's the example that we're going with right now. But you know, this is applicable to so many areas of life. It's like, if that is going to scare you away and that's going to be the thing that stops you, then that just shows how much you actually wanted that goal in the first place. You know, if there's 1, 2, 5, or 10 steps that are like, oh, I don't really know how to do that, I would never be able to do that, wow, that seems so confusing or hard or difficult, and so then you stop and you don't chase the goal because of those things, that's a reflection of how badly you wanted to achieve that goal in the first place, right? So I wasn't gonna let, you know, having literally no idea how to do graphic design or build a website stop me from building a business. And in fact, you don't even need a website to build a business. So if you are listening to this and you do want to sell some sort of product or service or start a business of some sort, like, don't let the website be the thing that stops you, honestly. But for everybody else, if you're not a business owner, you know, apply this to other areas of your life, other goals that you have. There's always those little steps along the way that we don't want to face or we don't want to do because they're hard and they're confusing and they're frustrating and they're time-consuming. But remember that, like, sometimes the only way out is through. Like, the only way out of having to do those hard things is to actually go through them and choose to do them anyway so that you can get to the other side where you don't have to do those any things— you don't have to do those things anymore, or you can delegate them, or you have the experience now or the knowledge now that they won't be an issue for you anymore moving forward. So that was just a little lesson that I learned from this whole process of building the website, but I'm so excited for you guys to see it and yeah, just like scroll through it and appreciate its beauty because it's so aesthetic and fun and me. And I'm obsessed with the colors and all of like the fonts. And there's amazing freebies that you can grab on the website— some meditations, my journaling guide, my ebook New Year New Magic for all of your manifestation needs. Like, uh, I'm just so in love with it and so excited about it. And this week I had to do so many things that I didn't want to do in order to be able to push that goal forward. Like, I was over here for hours, uh, it, talking with the support teams on Squarespace and on Kajabi and, you know, chatting back and forth with them and going into my advanced DNS settings and editing code and changing CNAMEs and MX records and all of this fucking shit that probably means nothing to you that I literally had no idea what it was until like Yesterday, and that's what I've been doing all week. So now that it's done and I solved all of the problems that I was like, wait, this is so confusing, how the fuck am I going to solve this? I solved them and now I feel amazing and incredible and powerful and like I believe in myself even more because I'm like, wow, I can figure out hard shit. Like I can do things that I didn't think that I knew how to do. So anyway, that's my little rant for this intro. Um, I'm excited for you guys to see the new website. But today we're going to talk about money because again, this is part of the money series. So let's go ahead and just jump into these 6 tips to help you guys start calling in more cash. Welcome to the Makeshift Happen podcast. I'm your host, Samantha Daly, entrepreneur, life coach, and your no BS bestie here to bring you all things mindset, manifestation, and personal development. This podcast is designed to help you expand your mind and uplevel your life.
So turn the volume up and roll the windows down if you're coming along for the ride.
Let's go make shift happen! Okay, numero uno: stop taking advice from lack mindset people. People. If your friends, or your— even your parents, or the people in your life aren't where you want to be, or they don't have a bank account that you would desire, or they don't have a mindset that you would love to adopt, that you would blindly choose to switch with them for, stop seeking their opinions. On money, on finances, on investments, on if they think it's a good idea that you buy something or do something or invest in something. Like, really think about that for a second, right? It's kind of like the same with relationship advice. It's like we lean on our friends and our family and the people in our lives for advice so much, and I think that's beautiful. And if you have people in your life that can provide you amazing advice then that is one thing. But it's totally different when, you know, we're chatting to our friends and our family about our relationship struggles and they don't have healthy relationships or they don't have a relationship that we would want to swap with. Like, why? Why would we seek the insight from someone who is not a true embodiment of the place that you're trying to go? And the same thing goes for money. But I think because money is such a taboo topic and there's only a certain tiny circle of people in your life that you can probably talk about money with, it makes it harder to be sure that those people are the people that are a true example for you and that are a living, breathing embodiment of the thought processes and the management style and the approach to money that you want to have, right? So I think, you know, this is mostly just because of that. We don't talk about money enough, and we don't talk about it with a lot of people in our life. So that really kind of like limits our, um, it limits our, um, what's the word I'm looking for? Our options. Wow. It limits our options of how many people we can really go to for advice. And I think another thing that's important or worth mentioning here too is this idea, uh, about learning to trust yourself so that you can make your own decisions from an intuitive place where you are aligned with your desires and what you feel is right, versus always looking outward and needing the approval or, you know, the, the checkoff of your parents or somebody else to, to say that something's okay. And this happens a lot when we are spending money, like even and just in small ways when you go shopping, maybe you ask a friend if you, if they like something before you buy it, or you want this jacket that's maybe a little bit more expensive than what you would normally spend. And so you take a picture of it and you send it to your mom or your best friend or your group chat or whatever, because you're trying to, to look for that validation of like, yes, it's worth the price. Yes, you should spend money on it. Yes, it's okay for you to purchase that thing. Like, yes, I believe that you look good in it, or that you're worth it, or that you can afford it, right? We, we have such a lack of trust in ourselves when it comes to making decisions, especially around money. So even just starting to evaluate whose advice you seek in those moments, like when you are trying to decide if you should purchase something, if it's something as simple as a jacket or clothes Or if it's something more intense, like a bigger investment, like a car or a home, or, you know, a coaching program or something like that, right? These bigger investments in our lives— who are the people that you would seek for advice or validation, perhaps, of, you know, looking for that, that moment where they're able to say, like, you know what, yeah, I agree with you, I think that's a good idea. And, and start to question, like, if those people are the right people to be asking, right? So we want to stop taking advice from people that have a lack mindset or that are not in a position in their life or with their finances or with their mindset that we would blindly switch with. So question that for yourself. The second tip is to stop waiting until you have more money to then change the way that you operate with money, or to do the research and figure out how you want to manage it, save it, and invest it, etc., etc., right? We have this idea of like, when I have more money, then I'll put 30% of my salary into— 30% of my paycheck or whatever into savings. When I have more money, I'll get better at you know, managing it and figuring out what I want to do with it and all those things. When I have more money, then I'll invest it in stocks or whatever, right? It's always when I have more, then I'll blank. So what is that blank for you? Let's first start there of when I have more money, then I'll blank. And maybe that's even things like travel and, you know, whatever else it is that you feel like you will finally do when you have more money. And then really look at that.
Okay, so I have something I think you're really going to love and your business is going to love it even more. Do you want to steal the strategy I've been using to seduce premium buyers and sell out my offers on Instagram stories? Chances are you're already posting, you're already making sales, but if your Instagram stories aren't working as hard as you are, you're leaving money on the table. Sold Out Stories is going to teach you exactly how to change that so that you can sell out any offer at any price point. And even high-caliber coaches miss this because selling on stories isn't about how much you post or how frequently you show up face to camera. It's about psychological sequencing. And the way you're posting right now might be giving the premium buyers in your audience the ick. Documenting your day and hoping it builds trust, posting look-at-me content and calling it authority, sharing client wins as soon as they drop in instead of strategically weaving them into a story-selling sequence designed to drive demand and convert sales.
We both know that you're not here to learn how to show up more.
You're here because you know your content could be converting faster and more effectively. Sold Out Stories is going to give you 5 high-converting story selling frameworks built specifically for premium buyer psychology. Inside, you'll get over 6 hours of deep dive video trainings, real IG story breakdowns, and live walkthroughs that show you exactly how to elevate your slides from authority building all the way to offer flow in less than 10 slides. My clients have already been using these frameworks to pull 5-figure sales days while posting less. One client generated 14 premium leads from a single story sequence. Another sold out her event in under 6 hours with just 8 strategic story slides. No sales calls, no paid ads, just the right frameworks. You'll walk away knowing how to sequence for desire, transition into your offer seamlessly, and sell daily without ever feeling salesy. You already know your offer's incredible, so now it's just time for your stories to sell it like it is. Grab Sold Out Stories today and turn 10 slides or less into your highest converting content. Let's make your next story your most profitable one yet. Click the link in the show notes below and I'll see you inside.
And come at it with this idea of like, hang on, if I know, if I understand the law of attraction and I understand how manifestation works, then I know that I can't manifest something that I want. I can only manifest something that I am, right? You're not going to manifest something that you just want because you want it. You're going to manifest something because you are an embodiment of having it and deserving it. So there's this amazing quote that's like, when you believe that you deserve it, the universe will serve it. And as long as we keep throwing our desires or our future actions and patterns and behaviors about money into the future by saying, oh, when I have more, then I'll do that, when I have more, then I'll do that, we're not actually embodying the person that would be able to handle that kind of money, right? So you will only ever have as much money as you know how to handle and deal with, right? It's this idea of, of like attracts like, becoming an energetic match. You're only ever going to be given the amount of money that you feel safe with. And maybe a lot of money actually feels scary to you because you don't have systems set up. You don't know how to hold on to it. You don't know how to save it. You don't know how to invest it. You don't know how to manage it. So rather than thinking that you'll do all of that research and figure all of that out when you have more, start doing it now. Like, invest in the programs and the books and whatever it is that's going to help you feel more safe and more knowledgeable with money so that you can create an energetic container that communicates to the universe, this is a safe place for money to flow in. Money has a purpose here, right? It's not just a pocket with a hole at the bottom, right? It's not just this like moment of passing through. It's this beautiful energetic construct of giving your money a purpose and knowing where it's going and being comfortable with the numbers and having a plan for it and feeling expansive around it and giving it this fun and beautiful energy and this amazing place for it to go. You know, there's the statistic about lottery winners that 70% of people who win the lottery go bankrupt within a few years of having won millions and millions of dollars. And if you think about— like, this is so interesting— if you think about why that is, think about the types of people that play the lottery enough in order to be able to win it. I mean, I guess you could play it one time and win it, but whatever. The— why do we play the lottery? What is the mindset of wanting to win the lottery? The mindset of wanting to win the lottery is like, I don't like where I'm at. I don't have control of being able to ever cultivate that much money. So I need to get lucky and have somebody else give it to me. Right. So a lot of times the people that end up winning the lottery, they don't have a wealth mindset. They have not been conditioned to handle that level of wealth. They don't know where their money is going. They don't know how to properly manage it, spend it, save it, invest it, whatever. Right. They're giving it away. They're buying extravagant things. They're doing all this stuff. They think it's going to last forever. They're not. Figuring out how to make that money grow and how to actually capitalize on it and use that beautiful opportunity because they have not been conditioned for wealth. They went into that experience with a lack mindset of I don't have enough, I want somebody else to give me more. And then when they received more, it all went away after a few years because money's not going to stay. In that energetic environment. That's not where it hangs out. That's not where it enjoys being. Right. And those, those people with that type of mindset aren't capable of figuring out a way to hang on to that or capitalize on it or make it, you know, continue to work for them and continue to grow. So you can really see that in that statistic that it is so real that you will only ever have as much money as you know how to handle. Right. My favorite money quote that I always say over and over again is by Tony Robbins, and he says, if you don't have enough money in your life, there is one and only one primary reason, and that is because you have not conditioned yourself for wealth. So, you know, this is exactly what we do inside of Cosmic Cash is we work on conditioning you and your mindset and your subconscious programming and your way of thinking and being and behaving around money so that you are able to hold more, so that you become a more expansive container for money to be able to flow in and come towards you. So tip number 2, in a nutshell, you know, that was a lot, but stop waiting until you have more money in order to figure out what you would do with it or how you would manage it, because you need to do that first in order for that money to be able to come in and be able to hang out there with you, right? A lot of you listening to this may have a good amount of money in your life. Maybe you have a job that you love, maybe you have a salary that you think is really good and it's working for you, but still for some reason it feels like it's slipping through your fingers, or you don't know where it's all going, or you feel like you're earning at a level where you should have more in savings than you do and you're confused about why. Like, this is the process of conditioning yourself for wealth so that you can improve all of that. Yeah, it's not always about like not having enough money and just wanting more. It's also about what can I do with the money that I do have so that, you know, this— it works for me more. And also, how can I attract more of it? How can I become an energetic match for attracting more of it? So tip number 3 is to budget for the things that make you happy and that are gonna help you enjoy life right now. And this is really, really important because I think a lot of times when we hear the word budget, we just think, oh, cut back, do less, buy less, shop less, spend less, etc. And it's very icky yucky lack vibes. So when we say budget for things that make you happy and help you enjoy life now, this means include some of those things into your spending and what you, what you allot yourself, or, you know, what you are consciously aware that you are spending on a monthly basis. So because it's important that we are enjoying our lives, especially if you're in a phase of wanting to call in more money. This is why cut back, cut back, cut back, budget, budget, budget all of that is not always the best route. It's rarely the best route in my opinion. Like, there, there's nothing wrong with budgeting and cutting back, but there has— there's more to the story, right? There has to be other things in tandem with that. That can't be the only thing that you're doing, because when we understand how the law of attraction works, like attracts like, your energy needs to be a match. You need to be in vibrational alignment. If you are fucking depressed and not enjoying your life and eating the worst food, never going out, never having fun, never having nice things, never doing anything for yourself, you're going to feel like garbage. And when your energy is a dumpster fire, you are not attracting money like that. Is just how it is. So you have to budget in for some of the things that are going to make you feel happy and help you enjoy life right now. You don't need to do all the things. You don't need to go crazy with it. You can if that's available to you. Do it, honey. Right. But like, you have to enjoy your life where you are right now. Because again, if you're just sitting there thinking, oh, when I have more money, then I'll be able to go out, then I'll be able to go out for drinks, then I'll be able to travel, then I'll be able to do this with my boyfriend, then I'll be able to yada yada yada yada yada. You are sitting in lack and you're communicating to the universe, I am incapable of having fun, being happy, living in enjoyment right now. And the only way that I'm going to get that is if you give me more money, right? It's like your happiness, your fulfillment, your enjoyment, your fun is dependent on this thing being delivered to you. When you have more money, then you'll be happy. And that is a telltale sign of living in lack. So question that for yourself. If that's a story, if that's something that's going on for you right now, all good. Don't need to freak out. We're building awareness around it. That's the first step. Like, hallelujah, there's a reason you're listening to this. It's in your ears at the right moment because it's trying to get you to start to shift. So think about what are some small ways that you can start to inject more enjoyment and fun into your life right now with the finances that you currently have, right? What, what can you allow? How can you be a little bit more open with yourself and allow yourself to experience some of the joy and spend a little bit, right? We're going to spend on stuff anyway. So if you have to spend a little bit, and this could be literally going to get a Starbucks coffee once a week, and that's like a treat for you on Fridays or something. That's $4. Most of us, most of us can afford a $4 treat in our week. But the thing about that $4 treat is that then you can't go and just attach a bunch of guilt to it and feel bad about it. That cancels out the whole purpose of the experience. So you get what I'm saying, right? Budget for the things that help make you happier and feel like you're actually enjoying your life regardless of, of what it looks like right now and the restrictions that maybe placed onto you, whether they're in your control or out of your control. Of course, those are, those are very real, but is there any leeway in there? Is there some room for a little bit more fun or enjoyment? That's an important question to ask yourself.
Money is often the reason we feel confined to a certain lifestyle, bound by hard limitations, and held back from being able to attain the things we truly want, require, and deserve. Not to mention the comparison, self-doubt, and the twinge of jealousy that sets in as you look around and see so many people thriving, traveling, starting businesses, buying homes, and living financially free. The numbers in your bank account can start to rule your life and become the cause of so much stress and anxiety. But it doesn't have to be that way. If you believe in the power of manifestation and you're ready to rewire your neural pathways for wealth, but you feel like you don't know where to start or what to do first, you're in the right place. Number 4 is to get intimate with your money. Not in a sexual way. I don't mean take some dollar bills and roll around your bed with them, unless you want to do that. Actually, I feel like that could be kind of expansive. That could be a vibe, honestly. Like just, or in the bathtub, like put some, put some cash money in the bathtub and fucking roll around in it. That, that could be some wealth vibes, but that's not what I mean by get intimate with your money. By get intimate with your money, what I mean is you have to know where you are, right? So you gotta know the numbers and you gotta know the sitch. Like, what in the grandma's tits is going on with your money right now? Like, if I asked you some questions about how much money is in your bank account right now, how much money do you spend every month on groceries, what— how much money did you spend last month within about $50 to $100? Do you know that number? How much money, if you have debt, What is that number? Do you know the number down to the dollar, down to the cent? Right? Like, let's get intimate. What are your expenses? Like, so many of us don't even know our monthly expenses. Like, we know more or less, okay, our rent is this much, you know, maybe you know a little bit of some of your bills, but you've never really sat down to like add all of that up and like look at it and be like, okay, this is actually the number. That I spend every single month without fail. Like, these are consistent expenses that I have to deliver on, and this is how much it is. And then also knowing what is your income, like, what is that exact number? And are there, are there variable sources for that? Like, do you sometimes get paid for other random things or through a second job or through a side hustle? And what does that look like? So by get intimate with your money, I mean just know what's going on with it. Know the numbers. I remember being so oblivious to my student loans. Like, I knew that I had student loans. I knew that it was tens of thousands of dollars, but I didn't really want to look at it. I didn't want to know what it was because I felt like as long as I didn't know what it was exactly, I could just like kind of pretend that it wasn't real or ignore it. And so this was, you know, when I was teaching English here in Spain in the beginning, and I was earning around $1,000 a month, um, which obviously life is a lot cheaper here, so it's not as bad as it sounds, but like it's fucking bad. Like my rent was $500 or more. Yeah, it was a little bit more than $500. So half of my— half of my check every month went to rent. And then, you know, I still had to pay some other bills and food and the gym and my transport. And so after that, you can imagine what I was left with was not that much. Um, so, you know, I was really in a— and I didn't— I luckily I didn't have to pay on my loans at that time because my income level just wasn't there. It was basically like the US is like, you are living in poverty, so you have to pay $0 a month, which I was like, fuck yes, thank God, because I really didn't have the money to, to pay for that, um, to make monthly payments on those. But I just like, I was so oblivious. Like, I just really, I didn't even know how to— this is so bad— I didn't even know how to log in to my like loans account. Like, I, I didn't even know where it was or how to access it. It was like I was just pushing it away and hiding it and being like, it'll go away, or like that thought process of like, when I have more money, then I'll figure it out, right? No, no. So get intimate with your money. Know what your numbers are. Know what you're earning. Know what you're spending. Know what you're saving, if anything at all. And also know where you're trying to go, right? So often we're just sitting here being like, oh, that would be nice to have more money. I really want to have more money someday. I'm probably going to have more money. I hope I have more money. I'm working towards having more money. I'm manifesting more money. I really want to be abundant and have more money, but it's like, what does that actually mean? What does that actually look like? Which brings us into tip number 5, which is to give your money a purpose. So know where your money is going to go and get clear on the why behind that, right? Why are you desiring more money? If you have a certain income goal or a certain number of money that you're working towards manifesting, why is that the number? Because so often we just want more because we are conditioned and taught that more is better, right? We just, we just think that like, oh, more money means something better, right? More money means more success or more money means more happiness. But what does more money actually mean for you? And why is it that number? What is the number? If you have no number, if you have no goal, well, let's fucking start there and let's get one, right? And then ask yourself, why? Why is this my income goal? And what is this specific number going to do for me? How is it going to change things for me? And where am I going to direct these dollars that are coming into my bank account that are going to be extra? On top of, you know, the, the finances that I currently have? What would that do for me? And how am I going to manage it? Where am I going to send it? What am I going to spend it on? How is it going to change things for me or my family or my life or my opportunities, right? Figure that out. Get clear on that. That's an amazing thing to journal on. How are you going to manage and allocate that money that you are desiring? Okay, and the last tip, number 6, is to ask for what you want. You miss 100% of the shots that you don't take. Is that a Michael Jordan quote? I don't know where that quote came from, but you've heard it before for sure. But like, that's, that's the same with work and money and finances. It's like if you don't ask for what you want, how are you expecting to get it? Right? We make this mistake in relationships too. And I think this is, you know, this is something that we talk about in Cosmic Cash as well, how money and relationships are so connected. Money and love is so connected. Money is so connected to our sense of self-worth, and it comes out a lot in our experiences of love and relationships. And that is a huge place for you to be able to do more learning and understanding and self-development around money is by looking at that connection and what that looks and feels like for you. So, you know, the point in me mentioning that is it's the same in relationships. If you don't ask for what you want and you just expect to receive it and you hope that your partner will figure it out or they'll understand it or they will read your mind and do it, you will be disappointed every fucking time because people aren't reading your mind. And until you say, you know, I really love it when you do this, I would love if you did that more often, then you can finally open that door to be able to receive that. But for so many of us, we sit in that silence of just like hoping that it will happen. And hope is not a strategy for improving your life, any area. Hope is not a fucking strategy. Stop hoping. Start getting up, asking for what you want, putting in the work, investing in the information that's going to help you get there, and start doing it. So when we say ask for what you want in terms of money, a lot of times this means asking for a raise, or asking how you could work towards a promotion, right? Opening the door to having conversations with the people that are in charge of the money that you earn and showing them your worth, demonstrating your worth, showing your eagerness to earn more, to receive more, right? We just put our head— our heads down and we're like if I work hard, if I work longer hours, if I show up every day, if I'm super charismatic and helpful and all these things, I'll eventually be noticed and people will, you know, want to reward me for that. And that's how you climb the ladder, and that's how you move up, is you just do more and do better and work harder. No, no, no, stop, stop grinding yourself to death in silence, hoping that someone's going to notice you and offer you more money. Get the fuck up. Figure out what your goal is, right, for your specific situation. What is realistic for you? If you're a business owner, maybe this means you have to raise prices or you want to create something new or you want to pivot in your business. If you are an employee, maybe this means looking at the structure of the company, looking at, is there a glass ceiling, or is there anywhere that you could move or shift or pivot within the company that's going to help you grow and rise into a different pay grade? Or if there is a glass ceiling and you feel like there's no opportunities for growth where you are, what else is there, right? Start looking outward. Is there— are there other opportunities? Should you think about moving somewhere else, right? Ask for what you want or you will not receive it. That is seriously so fucking important, you guys. Like, we have to use our voices, especially as women in the workplace. Like, you will get passed over a million times in favor of a man who does the same job as you if you don't say something, right? We unfortunately— that statistically speaking, that is just the, the world. That we live in right now, and we're working really hard to change that. But part of moving towards that change is being part of the change, and that requires us to believe in our worth, right? Which is a huge obstacle in and of itself for so many women— finding that sense of self-love, finding that sense of self-worth, knowing what you bring to the table, valuing your skills and the, the energy that you provide to the team, the asset that you are at work, knowing that and being able to stand up for it and being able to speak out about it and being able to ask for what you want. Because here's the thing, even when they say no, because sometimes they say no, even when they say no, they're like, wow, I did not expect for her to walk into my office and ask me for more money. That's kind of baller. That was kind of badass, right? And at the very least, even if they say no, you are gonna come up in their mind sooner ahead of somebody else when they are having conversations in leadership about giving out raises or bonuses or promoting people or who would be good for a next leadership role, right? When you stand up and you show up and you speak, you get remembered more easily and you would be considered before other people who are doing the old poor me, I'm just gonna put my head down and grind it out energy, right? So ask for what you want, please, I beg of you. Inquire about opportunities. Inquire if there's a way for them to help you learn new skill sets or to help you develop some sort of new technique or program or something that's gonna, catapult you into another kind of like category in their minds of what you're capable of. And also the hunger that you have for growth within your job or within the company or whatever it is, right? Let them know that you wanna take on different and new responsibilities, that you want to learn more, that you are seeking growth, right? That your goal is X promotion. Or your goal is X position, right? Communicate the things that you want and that you're desiring, because other people are going to be able to help facilitate that for you, but only if they know that you want it, only if they know that you're hungry for it, only if they know that you're willing to work for it and that you're willing to stand up for yourself and show up for it. So I'm getting really passionate about this last tip because I've helped so many of my clients with this, walking into HR offices or speaking to their bosses, negotiating salaries, asking for raises, asking to switch and move into different areas of the company, getting promoted. Like, it's so, it's so empowering for me to be able to help other women start to get what they deserve. And to be seen and to be heard and to be respected and to be rewarded for the value that they do provide that maybe before they didn't believe in as much or they didn't see it as much or they were too afraid to ask about it or talk about it, right? So that last tip, seriously, take that to heart and start to think about in what ways can you start asking for more of what you want and what you know that you deserve. All right. That's it for me today, guys. Um, don't forget Cosmic Cash is fully rebranded. There's new content inside and it is coming back April 2021. Keep your eyes peeled.
