Rebranding, My Current Reality TV Obsessions & Exciting Pregnancy Update
1 Mar 2024 · 51 min
In this bonus episode of the Makeshift Happen podcast, host Samantha Daly shares a personal life update about becoming an aunt again and her excitement for a baby girl, recounts a quirky pregnancy‑revelation story from a retreat, and reflects on Valentine’s Day with partner Jaime, including their low‑key gift ideas and protein‑packed treats. She then dives into a candid critique of two reality‑TV dating shows—Love Is Blind (season 6) and The Bachelor—highlighting specific contestants, drama dynamics, and broader cultural observations about vulnerability and relationship patterns. The episode transitions to business news: a branding refresh for the Abundant & Ambitious Mastermind (new visuals, backend client‑experience upgrades), a free “Growth Codes” masterclass scheduled for March 10 with a 10‑day free coaching giveaway, and a promotion for the Sold Out Stories Instagram‑story selling framework. Finally, Samantha announces the launch of full‑video podcast episodes on YouTube, celebrates reaching ~200 subscribers, and outlines the release schedule (audio Wednesdays, video Fridays). The episode ends with gratitude and a teaser for the next week.

Welcome to the Makeshift Happen podcast. I'm your host, Samantha Daly, entrepreneur, life coach, and your no BS bestie, here to bring you all things mindset, manifestation, and personal development. This podcast is designed to help you expand your mind and uplevel your life. So turn the volume up and roll the windows down if you're coming along for the ride. Let's go make shit happen. What's up, you guys? Welcome back to the podcast. We're about to do a bonus episode, and these are the episodes that I just kind of throw together at the end of the month to fill you in on what's going on in my life and business, any updates, things I'm loving, shows I'm watching, you know, just like casual chit-chat to accompany you on your commute or your morning walk or wherever you are while you are tuning in. Now, to be honest, the reason that I don't do these bonus episodes on video is because I just need some time to be a troll, okay? I cannot be putting together outfits and doing my makeup and getting my hair ready and setting up this camera all the dilly day long. So we just needed, we needed a break. We needed some audio-only episodes. And these are the most fitting anyway, because we tried to do these on video. And then obviously, you know, I've got a team of people that help me with the podcast production and the video content and the Shorts and the YouTubes and all those things. And they need the files like ahead of time so that they can cut everything, they can organize it, they can get it ready for posting, they can make the thumbnails, all the things. So I was like, this isn't really making sense because I cannot do a recap of the month on the 15th of the month. Do you know what I'm saying? So anyways, these episodes at the end of the month are just gonna be audio. So if you're an audio girly, if you're an OG, if you listen on Spotify, Apple, wherever, that's where these episodes are gonna live for the foreseeable future because I like being in my PJs, in my robe, no makeup on, whatever is happening. So that's what these episodes are. And if you're here for the ride, if you're down to basically not learn anything of use in this episode, but you just need like some light, some fun, some real life, and some who gives a fuck in your life, then this is an episode for you. You know what I'm saying? All right, let's just get into the episode. So the first thing that I have to tell you guys is so exciting. I am going to be an aunt again. An aunt. An aunt. Oh, I never know how to say that. Let's debate about it. Is it aunt? Is it aunt? I kind of like auntie. Auntie. I like the E at the end. I think that's cute. Anyways, my sister-in-law is pregnant and she's having a baby. And obviously if she's pregnant, she's having a baby. What else is she going to be having? A fucking dog? We just found out the gender, and I'm so excited because it's a girl! It's a girl, you guys! There's a girl coming. So I have one nephew right now, and he's so freaking cute. He's the cutest little 4-year-old you've ever seen in your entire life. And there's a baby on the way, and I'm just so excited because it's a girl. And this idea that I get to be an aunt, an aunt, an auntie, an auntie, whatever, to a little niece, a sweet little baby girl. I'm just so excited. I'm so excited because I feel like I've always kind of wanted to be like the cool aunt. I mean, me and my brother, like, I'm his only sibling, so on that side of the family, I'm the only aunt or uncle that he's going to get, or she's going to get, I guess, my niece and nephew. I'm the only aunt they're going to get from their dad's side, essentially. But I feel like it would be so fun to be like the cool aunt where it's like, yeah, like, come stay with us for the summer in Spain. Like, I'll take you to Ibiza, I'll show you the cool spots. Like, and I just feel like with a girl, like, it's— it'll be easier to connect. And like, maybe she'll see me in that light and we'll get to do fun stuff together. Or I can like take her to concerts, or we can like travel. I don't know, who knows? And then probably at some point, like, I'll have kids of my own and I'll be like, girl, I'm tired. I don't know. But I just like living in this vision of like a dream world where I get to be a cool aunt to my amazing nephew and brand new niece who's on the way. So that's very, very exciting. Oh my God. And the craziest story about how my sister-in-law found out that she was pregnant, we were on the Dream Life Immersion Retreat. So the retreat that I hosted in December, my mom and my sister-in-law came on the retreat. And in one of the breathworks, my sister-in-law Chelsea had this vision where she saw her future life and she had her son, and then she saw also a little girl, like running through the field or something with them. And we were like, oh, that's so sweet, that's beautiful. And she had been wanting to have another baby, but she had gone through some losses. And so it was just kind of like this sensitive sort of thing. And I felt like that vision that came through for her was just really hopeful of like, maybe that is, you know, your higher self, your guides, your angels, whoever, kind of like showing you that that vision for your life is possible, right? So that happens. Then on, I think it was like maybe the last day or the second to last day of the retreat, one of the girls who was on the retreat comes up to me and she's like, so I had a dream last night that you were pregnant, and I'm really intuitive and this like happens to me a lot and I'm usually never wrong. And she's like, so you might be pregnant, or someone really close to you, like a family member or someone like in your really close circle, like someone is pregnant. That is connected to you. I'm sure of it. And I was in my head like, oh fuck, like, I hope it's not me. Like, oh God. So I go upstairs and I tell my sister-in-law, I tell Chelsea, I'm like, okay, uh, Jess just said that I'm pregnant or someone close to me is pregnant. So I really hope it's you because I know that you actually have been trying to get pregnant and you want another baby. Like, I hope it's you. In no way, shape, or form thinking that she was actually pregnant. You guys, she was literally pregnant at that moment already. And now I'm convinced that the vision that she had of that little girl was the spirit baby that was already with her, that was already in her womb. She just didn't know it yet. So crazy. So I'm like, I hope it's you. And, you know, just not even really thinking like she might be pregnant. We get home from the retreat. The next day she calls me and she's like, Sam, and I can hear that kind of like echoey sound like that she's in a bathroom. And I just knew, I just knew instantly at the moment. I'm like, she's in the bathroom, she took a pregnancy test and she's calling me to tell me that she's pregnant. She's like, I'm pregnant. Like, you have gotta be shitting me. That is fucking wild. So anyway, that's how we found out that she was pregnant. And I just thought I'd share that with you because it's a cool story and it happened on the retreat among many other miracles and things that come to fruition for people on these retreats. So yeah, that was very, very cool. So because this is a recap of the month of February, we got to stay on theme and we got to talk about love. It's love month, girls and guys and gays and theys. It is love month. So we had Valentine's Day and yeah, you would've heard Jaime was on the podcast. We did a special little episode together. We came on, we answered all of your questions about relationships, how we get along, fights, intimacy, all of those things. And then what did we do for Valentine's Day? We just went out to like a dinner. We don't do anything really crazy for any holiday really. Like one thing about Jaime and I is that we don't really even gift each other things. Like we give each other birthday gifts. We don't give each other Christmas gifts, um, because we usually just— we prefer to travel. And so we would rather save our money together and then like plan a trip and do some sort of travel than buy each other like random like clothes and items and things that we don't necessarily need for— like stuff that we could just get ourselves, you know. At the end of the day, you're like, what do you want for Christmas? And then they buy you— it's like No, let me just get that for myself and then we can go do something together. Like, let's have an experience. Let's invest in something really fun together. We don't need to give each other gifts all the freaking time. So we are not the big, like, crazy Valentine's Day people. I will say I was a little bit shocked at some of the videos that I was seeing on social media of people's, like, Valentine's Day stuff. And like, I swear there was this one video I watched where this girl walks into the door of her house and there's rose petals everywhere, all over the floor. And then the hallway is like lined with rose petals and candles, and it leads her into the living room, and everything is like covered in like balloons and rose petals, and there's hundreds of candles everywhere. And there's this like beautiful setup and like a gift and, and a bouquet of roses in the center. And I'm like, this literally looks like a proposal. Like, you are going to do more damage with this than good. This girl's walking into this and she's literally going to be like, oh my God, it's Valentine's Day. This is the moment he's about to ask me to marry him. And it's just like a happy Valentine's Day. Like, what do people actually go this all out for Valentine's Day? Okay, so I have something I think you're really going to love and your business is going to love it even more. It's a little bit much. It's a little bit over the top. What I will say, one year what I did, because Jaime and I were long distance, so this was the year that I was back at school, I was finishing my college degree, and he was working in Rome for a law firm and then starting to study for his master's degree. So after I had studied abroad, we met I left. We were like, bye, see you later, we're probably never gonna see each other again. But like, it was real, loved it. But then we kept talking, right? So this year we were like long distance, and then we, we were like, oh my gosh, okay, this is actually a thing. Like, oh, I love you. What? Oh my God, what do we do now? So in that year while we were long distance, obviously Valentine's Day rolls around. So I'm like, I want to do something cute, I want to do something fun. So one of my college roommates and I, we went to the store and we saw these huge Valentine's Day cards. When I say huge, they were fucking huge. It was like almost the size of my body. I mean, that's, that's a bit much. It wasn't really that big, but like, okay, I'm a little over 5 foot and it was like the size of probably from my like mid-thigh to my head. It was a very, very, very large card. So we got these huge Valentine's Day cards for our boyfriends and I like wrote a message inside in Spanish. And then my roommates, my college roommates, literally also signed the Valentine's card saying that they like loved Jaime and they missed him because they had, they had met him when he came to visit me earlier that year. Um, and I shipped that baby all the way to Spain. You bet your bottom dollar I put a bunch of stamps on that thing. I don't know how— I don't remember how much it cost me, but it was probably too much because Lord knows, Lord knows the shipping costs these days are a bit ridiculous. Anyways, I sent him this giant, giant Valentine's Day card. And, uh, Valentine's Day is not really something that's like celebrated in Europe at all, I don't think, but definitely not Spain. Like, they know about San Valentín, like the Saint Valentine, but it's not like a commercialized holiday like it is here. I mean, America loves any excuse to just sell you shit, to sell you candy, to sell you flowers. So it's not really like that over there. And at the time, Jaime was living with his parents, so I can just imagine like what they were thinking when they received this like 3-foot Valentine's Day card in the mail from this American girl that their son has been seeing. And they're like, wow. I think that was my one ever like big sort of Valentine's Day gesture. And it wasn't even that big, so it was just a card in the mail, and we were long distance. So it was like just a fun, extravagant kind of way to basically say like, I really miss you and I'm thinking of you and I'm putting in the effort, essentially. But I thought that was funny. And it— I only remember that because this past Christmas when we went to Spain, uh, just to visit Jaime's family, we were hanging out in the living room and Jaime was looking for something. I think we wanted to hook up the laptop to the TV to like watch a movie from our Netflix or something in his parents' house, and he opens this drawer underneath the TV and he finds the Valentine's Day card, like they had saved it. And I was like, oh my gosh, this is so crazy and so funny to look at from 2015. And I opened it and I read it and I took a picture of it and I sent it to my college friends who had signed it. Like, do you guys remember signing this Valentine's Day card? Like, so weird. So weird. Anyway, we're not fans of the big, like over-the-top extravagant, like expensive gifts or like crazy like gestures for Valentine's Day. So we just went out to dinner together, that was it. Um, I made him some chocolate-covered strawberries and then I did like homemade peanut butter cups, but I made them like protein peanut butter cups. So I just like, I took the peanut butter and I kind of like melted it down a little bit so it was creamy. I added water so that it was more liquidy, and then I poured in some peanut butter protein powder and mix it together to make essentially like the protein or the peanut butter filling of the peanut butter cup, but it also had protein in it because Jaime likes those kind of things. He loves a treat, he loves a snack, but if he like, he wants to know that there's going to be protein in it. So like if we ever do pancakes, he's always like, are they protein pancakes? Like it has to have protein in it. He used to buy, um, When we lived in Spain, at the supermarket there, it's called Mercadona, we used to get these protein yogurts. I didn't eat them, he did, but it was like anything with protein in it, this man, I swear he's like convinced. He like doesn't even care about the rest of the ingredients. He's like, this is great, this is good for me. So anyway, I just, I made him some homemade like chocolate-covered, chocolate-dipped strawberries and then these protein peanut butter cups and I got this like cute little card and I just wrote a little message in it and that was it. And he took me out to dinner, we had a little cute dinner date on the river, and, uh, that was it. That was Valentine's Day. So, and that was enough for us. So, okay, more love things. I am going to tell you guys about the two shows that I'm watching right now, and they are both about like love, dating, and relationships. So we're going to talk about Love Is Blind and we're also going to talk about The Bachelor because I've been diving deep into these shows. Now, if you are not watching them, that's okay. You might listen to this commentary and then be like, all right, you've convinced me, I'm gonna go watch it. Or you might want to watch it and then like come back and listen to this again and see if our opinions kind of align. So Love Is Blind— Love Is Blind is one of those shows, you can watch it on Netflix, where it's like, it's bad, but it's addicting. And some of the seasons have just been so dumb. I can't even believe that I signed up to watch another one of these seasons. But it's one of those things where it keeps sucking you in and everybody watches it for some reason, and then it's all over social media and you're just like, okay, fine. Like, I'll— I guess twist my arm. I guess I'll watch it, right? So the last season of Love Is Blind was so bad. There was like no couples that— there was only like 3 couples, I think, that ended up falling in love in the pods where they date each other blind and then like kind of experimenting with their relationship out in the real world. And they were all just— I don't know, they were all trash. It was so bad. So my expectations were very, very low for this new season, for season 6. However, a lot of people are saying that this is the best season ever of Love Is Blind, and I got to give it to them. Like, there's some characters on this season and they are— they're bringing the drama, they're bringing the heat, and it's good, you know, it's entertaining to watch. So So the first person that we need to talk about is Matthew, because what the fuck is that? This guy is giving serial killer vibes. He's so weird. At first I felt bad for him. I thought he was just kind of this, like, lonely, kind of weird type guy, like, kept to himself. He didn't really talk to people. I'm like, oh, he must have been so weird in school. Like, I feel bad for him. Oh my God. But then, like, he was giving narcissist and he was— it was very, very weird. If you're watching, you know what the fuck, Matthew. Goodbye. The next most important people that we need to talk about are, of course, Chelsea and Jimmy. So you've probably seen this. This has gone viral on social media. Chelsea is the girl that essentially said that she looked like Megan Fox. In the pods. Now, mind you, they're dating blind, so they're not supposed to know anything about the physical. But sometimes people, you know, they plant seeds, they drop little hints. Some people outwardly ask, like, I want to know, like, what you look like, or they try to guess. But you're really not supposed to do that. It's kind of against the rules of the experiment and of the show. So anyway, basically what Chelsea had said was she was like, she asked if he had the guy that she was talking to, Jimmy. She asked if he had a celebrity doppelgänger or if he's ever been told that he looks like a celebrity. And then she shared hers and she was like, because she's a flight attendant, so she's like, sometimes people on the planes say that I look like that girl, like MGK's wife, what's her name? And he was like, uh, Megan Fox. And of course, if you're a man and you have the image of Megan Fox in your mind, You're thinking that this woman on the other side of the wall is a hot, dripping sex symbol of a woman. To be fully fair to Chelsea, she did say, but I don't fully see it. I don't see it. I think it's just because I have light eyes and dark hair, like, whatever, whatever. So she was kind of saying, like, I don't actually look like her, but like, flag on the play, Chelsea. Be smart, girl. Why would you ever bring up someone like Megan Fox even in the remote vicinity of a conversation about what you might look like. Because no matter what you look like, even if you were the most beautiful girl on the planet, you're planting an image in this man's mind that you look like Megan Fox. And so whatever he sees, no matter how beautiful you are, because like, who can compete with Megan Fox's face, body, boobs, hair, lips, all the things? Like, she looks perfect. Do you know what I mean? So no matter what you come out looking like, it's immediately like a, mm, it's like a down, a step down from what was in his mind because you implanted this vision of Megan Fox. That was such a mistake, and I'm sure she regrets it because it's all over social media. But once these two get out into the real world, mm, I can't even describe the frustration. This girl, this girl. Oh, I'm not going to lie. Like, she was— Chelsea was getting so annoying. I actually liked her in the pods. And then immediately once we go to real life, I'm like, you are so annoying. Please shut the fuck up. I can't listen to anything that you're saying. It's cringing. I can't do it. Bye bye bye bye bye bye bye. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I can't. I can't. I can't. I can't. They have really good times together. And then immediately she will just like Her insecurities come pouring out. She makes a comment, she starts a fight. She's asking for validation every 5 seconds. Do you like me? Do you think I'm pretty? Are you still happy? What do you think? Hey, don't forget that every month we are picking a Listener of the Month to win $50 in cash just for showing love to the show. It's so hard to watch. It's like painful. It's painful. And she's just sabotaging the whole relationship. She's making problems where they don't exist. And it's cringeworthy. It's, it's like secondhand embarrassment. It's really, it's really hard. To watch, I'm not gonna lie. Jimmy, I feel like he— like, I guess I kind of like him. Like, he's all right. I think he's good at, um, I think he's relatively good at communicating, but he did shut down in that one fight that they had, and he was like, I'm leaving, and then he went home and he like left, and that was a whole like dramatic situation. But yeah, I don't have anything particularly against Jimmy. I just think like he's— I really hope that they break up. I hope that they do not get married because this poor man is not going to be able to put up with Miss Megan Fox over here for the rest of eternity. All right. Next up is Laura and Jeremy. Laura's the blonde girl. And so Jeremy, like, he was actually Jaime's favorite. And I couldn't decide if he was like a nerd or if he was like actually kind of cool or like what his vibe was. And I didn't really like him that much in the pods, to be honest. But once they got out of the pods and they went to the Dominican Republic, I really liked how he came out of his shell and how like silly he was and just unapologetically himself he was. And I don't know, I thought he was like pretty funny and witty. But then we get to the part where he like meets up with Sarah Ann, who was the other girl that he was talking to in the pods. So he essentially lies to Laura's face, goes and meets up with this other girl that he was dating, blind dating in the pods, for, uh, 4 hours until 5 in the morning. Boldface lies about where he was to Laura. He's like, I put my location on so that you know where I was, like, why are you upset? And then he's surprised. Oh, he's surprised that she actually looked at the fucking location to know that he wasn't even where he said he That was bold. He was just assuming that she was going to be asleep, and so he thought he was going to be the hero to be like, I put my location on, like, why are you worried? And she's like, oh yeah, I saw your fucking location. You weren't in the parking lot of the bar, you were at her goddamn house. And that moment was just like, whoa, okay, Jeremy, you are— you are not exactly who I thought that you were. And the audacity of these men sometimes is really really wild. But I also have to say, Laura was like kind of mean to Jeremy from the jump. Like, she was very, I don't know, sort of like critical and condescending to him in a lot of ways. And I don't think she really liked him that much from the beginning. Or maybe that's just her personality. I don't know. I was like, why are they just shitting on each other all the time? And that's like their— that's their thing. Like, that's the bit that they do with each other is that they're just so sarcastic. Like, are they ever going to have a deep conversation or are they just going to like joke and shit on each other? And that's just going to be like what their marriage is like. I was very confused by that. She was just kind of like constantly nitpicking and she was so bothered by Jeremy's Hawaiian shirts. Like she was literally talking to her family members and acting like as if that was a reason to not marry him. Like, okay, get over it, babe. You are 34 and single. Figure it out. Like, how is this your biggest hurdle? We need to— we need to think about more important things. Okay, next is Brittany and Kenneth, which was the biracial couple. They were just weird together, honestly. I don't know, like, I'm glad that they ended and we didn't have to see them pretend to almost get married only for her to basically say no at the altar and be like, yeah, I'm not feeling it, it's not working. Because they just— I don't know, they were not it. I thought they were really cute in the pods, but then in real life I was like, ew, this is— this relationship is weirding me out. Then we have Clay and A.D. So I liked them at the start, but now, like, the more— the deeper you get into the episodes, the more they're like out in the real world. A.D. is kind of giving me bad vibes. Like, I feel like she's always kind of silently judging Clay and is almost just like trying to find ways to prove that he's not good enough for her. But like, he, he does also say kind of often how marriage scares him and he's worried about infidelity and like he's only seen relationships that failed and people that have cheated and he's not sure if he's ready. So maybe like, maybe he's actually not in this for the right reasons and maybe he's just on the show to kind of be like a clout chaser or to try to build a following. I don't really know. I can't fully figure them out, but I will be interested to see. What happens as that unfolds further. All right. Amy and Johnny. Amy and Johnny, I need to tell you about something. And that something is called a condom. You can use a condom and that will help you not get pregnant. This couple, like, I'm so— I'm genuinely so confused. They have not had sex since they've met each other in person and have been dating in real life. And the storyline is essentially that Amy's not on birth control and she's not sure if she wants to be because of what it would— could potentially do to her body and her hormones. Like, stan, we love that, we respect that, go girl. But Johnny is paranoid about her getting pregnant and he's like so adamant about not wanting to be a dad right away and like he's not ready for that. And I also think he has a lot of like money issues because he was like, we really need to save, and like, I'm trying to live as frugal as possible until retirement, like I want to retire early. And I honestly think like the kid thing, like the intense fear around having kids for him is related to finances. But he's literally— this is what he's claiming. He's claiming that he cannot sleep with her yet because she's not on birth control and they don't know what to do about it. What do you mean you don't know what to do about it? Put a fucking condom on. Like, what? Do they not know that this exists? I just think to me that's like, okay, it's so obvious that there's something else. Like, I think that he doesn't want to sleep with her because let's be real, no man has ever been that concerned about a girl getting pregnant. Like, if you are head over heels in love with someone, if you are at the early stages of your relationship, you just met them, you went on a beautiful vacation, you're in love, it's hot, it's like I'm like, sorry, there's no way you're not sleeping together. I'm not buying it. I am not buying it. I'm calling BS. I don't think they're gonna get married anyway. These are my— these are my thoughts on the Love Is Blind couples. If you guys aren't watching, go tune in so then we can chat about it. You can DM me, we can talk about it. I've been messaging with other like business friends of mine that are watching it, and we're just like— we're cracking up. Like, what the fuck is actually happening? This is so crazy. The question with this show is always like, is love Blind. That's like what the experiment is designed to show people, which it's obviously not. It's designed to entertain the world. It's not actually designed to be an experiment. Let's be fucking real. But my opinion is Love Blind, absolutely not. Hard no. Sorry, it's not. I don't know, like, look, like emotional connections I think you can develop up in a blind scenario without seeing someone. And emotional connections are so necessary and so important and fundamental to a thriving relationship. It's not all about looks, obviously, but like physical connections are also so important. There's probably a lot of people that you connect with emotionally and you love the conversations that you have and you can get deep with them and maybe you even have a lot of love for them and you think they're hilarious, but you have zero sexual pull towards them. Those people are your friends. That's why you don't fuck them. So if the physical attraction and the sexual chemistry is not there, you just can't force it. And to me, like, that's not a complete relationship. That you're not going to be able to build a marriage and a partnership off of that. So to me, I don't think love is blind. Sorry. I said so. I mean, the whole reason that I connected with my partner was because I was like, wow, he's hot. And he knows that. I told him that. You guys heard that on the Valentine's Day special with Jaime. It was like someone asked first impressions and I was like, I thought he's hot, let's hook up. But like, that's the real raw truth of it. I'm not even gonna lie, you know. So So for me, love is not blind. I'm sorry. Okay. Next up is The Bachelor, and then we're going to talk about stuff that's going on in my business and whatever. But we got to, we got to get through this because I have not watched The Bachelor since I was in college. When I was in college and I lived with like 6 of my best friends in a house, we watched a season of The Bachelor together. Or maybe it was The Bachelorette. I can't remember. It was one of the ones with JoJo and Jordan. A Bachelor Nation girly, you will know, but I have not watched The Bachelor since that season. So I'm not a Bachelor Nation stan. I don't follow along all the time. And for some reason, what— for whatever reason, like I saw one of my clients post in their stories a little like video of one of the episodes of the season. And I was just like, you know what? I'm feeling it. It's love month. I'm vibing it. I'm in my reality TV era. I'm living my best life. I'm 30 and flirty and thriving. Like, let's fucking go. I'm tuning in. In. So I start watching The Bachelor, and let me tell you, this bachelor, Joey, he is adorable. He is so cute, and he's really well-spoken, and he's decently fit, and he's like really emotionally intelligent. Like, he's very in tune with his emotions, with other people's emotions. He knows how to respond. Like, he gives great feedback and ask really great questions, and he's always making the women feel super seen and heard. And I'm like, where did this man come from? Because he was a great pick for The Bachelor, honestly. So I would be curious to watch the previous season of The Bachelorette where he was like a finalist. And I'm pretty sure based on like how he's been talking on the series, like he got to the end and thought that he was going to get engaged to that woman and then he was rejected. So his like biggest fear now being The Bachelor and having all these women there like fighting for his love is like, what if I get to the end and the person that I want to choose and get down on one knee for and propose to is like not fully feeling the same and I get rejected again on national television again? But he's super cute. I'm in love with him. I think he's great. One thing that I did not realize, because again, I haven't watched this in like a decade, I— and maybe it's different now because culture has changed and everyone is like going to therapy and talking about trauma and like we're all so much more informed about this stuff, but I never realized how much the dates were essentially just each girl like trauma dumping on him and then him having to constantly hold space. That's literally what all these dates are, is like they, they go out to dinner with him or they go whatever special kind of like date they have and they're like, I just want to be vulnerable with you and like tell you a little bit more about my story. And then they just share the most traumatic things that have ever happened to them in their life and they're like bawling and he's like, it's okay, take your time. Like, I really appreciate you sharing that. Must be so hard. And he's just like, has to hold all this space for 20-something, 30-something, I don't even know how many women that are just constantly trauma dumping on him. Like, wow, this is what it feels like to be a therapist. It must be like, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. Also, I will say the, the, the overuse of the word vulnerable and vulnerability, it's kind of getting under my skin. I think a fun game a fun game. Take a shot every time someone says the word vulnerable while you're watching The Bachelor, and you'll be dead by the end of an episode because they just love this word. They're just like, I just really want to be vulnerable. It's— it feels, uh, vulnerability, vulnerable, vulnerable, vulnerable. What is happening with our culture right now that like we just can't stop saying and being and talking about vulnerability. It's kind of a lot. I will say it's a little bit much. So there was one character. She's gone now, but there was one contestant that, to be totally honest, not going to lie, like, I just wanted to punch her in the face. And this person was Sydney. She is literally the most annoying person that I've ever seen on television. This woman, she was so obsessed with the narrative of Maria being a mean girl. Meanwhile, she was literally the one being the mean girl all along. Like, get over it. You started the drama. You literally started over nothing, over a comment that wasn't even said to you or about you. And the two women who were actually involved literally already made up and squashed it. So let me give you just like the very quick, like, minimal summary, okay? Maria is a girl on the show. She's a fan favorite. People love her. She's confident, she's bold, she says what she wants, she speaks her mind, like. And I think that has created this energy where people are like hating her. People are projecting all over her. So anyway, there's another girl in the house. I can't remember her name. It was like Medina or like some, some like, name that was a little bit different. Damn, I can't remember her name, but she was also a little bit like older, like maybe she was like 30. I don't remember. And Maria was 29. So this other woman who's like 30, she makes a comment about how her age is like an insecurity and she like feels like it'll be a reason that she won't get picked or something. She won't get a rose and she won't stay for the next round. And Maria was like, she's not even that old. And this is the comment that started a multiple week-long drama— series of drama— was the fact that Maria said she's not even that old. And she wasn't trying to be mean, but the girl who was expressing that she was insecure about her age, I guess she felt like that, that comment kind of like invalidated her experience in some way, and like that wasn't really something that she should be concerned or sad about. So Maria goes to her and she talks to her about it. She apologizes. They, they clear things up. They're like, we're all good. Like, it's fine. They make up and everything is fine between them too. Sydney is over here continuing to make this a problem, to build up the drama, to be like, Maria is a mean girl. I'm not going to let the mean girl win. Joey deserves to know that there— that this girl is in the house. She is literally the devil. This, this situation, this drama has been affecting me so badly. It's been— my skin has been bad. It's been giving me cold sores. It's been making me anxious. Like, I cannot sleep. Like, my health is being affected by this mean girl being in the house. She was so addicted to this narrative of Maria being a mean girl. Meanwhile, she was the one who was like creating all the problems. Like, take your cape off, girlfriend. There's no problem to solve here. It's fine. She was just so obsessed with putting Maria in her place and making her out to be this villain. It was It was weird. It was— it was weird. And I gotta say, there is nothing less attractive than a grown-ass woman tattling on another woman to a man that she's trying to date. Like, ew, ew, bye. That's why you didn't get a rose. That's why you went home. Bye, see you later. So let's talk about Maria really quickly. This is the last thing that I'll say. Maria, like I said, she's clearly like one of the fan favorites, and we can see why. She's fun. She's confident. She's bold. She has an actual fucking personality. Unlike the girl. What was her name with the Southern accent? She kind of had like a little twang. Jess. Oh my gosh. She was literally so boring and so pick me. I'm sorry. I had to say it. She was giving pick me energy and then she wondered why she got dumped. Before even getting a one-on-one date with Joey. Like, girl, please. You were literally crying in the corner at the cocktail party about how you didn't get enough time with him because Maria jumped in and asked if she could talk to him for 5 minutes. Like, I think this is the wrong dating environment for you then. Do you realize that you signed up to be on The Bachelor, that you are on a show competing with 20+ other women for one guy? Like, you got to be willing to shoot your shot and take up space and get in there. So anyway, what I'm learning from watching these dating shows— Love Is Blind, The Bachelor— is if I were single and I were dating, I think it would be really interesting to witness these dynamics and to like see it from this like zoomed out perspective and just like notice what is what is so attractive and also what is so unattractive. Like, you can see so many of these, like, dynamics and, like, the insecurities and the, the, like, clinginess or, like, the pick-me energy versus, like, that confidence of being bold, of taking up space, of having a personality, of being fun, of making jokes. Like, it's so clear, and you can really, really see, like, why certain people are succeeding in the dating environment and others are not. And obviously, like, I've heard from my single friends, like, the dating environment right now in the world is complex. It's nuanced. It's tough. We know. I'm sending prayers to all the single girlies out there. And by no means do I think it's like your fault that you are single. Absolutely not. All I'm saying is, like, I would watch these shows and just be fascinated and at observing, like, oh my gosh, okay, it's so clear, like, why this is not working for you. Versus over here, these people are thriving and these are the reasons why. And I can kind of like see the example of how that's playing out. So anyway, I find it interesting and, um, I've been in a long-term relationship for like 9 years and I'm frothing on it. So it's just fun. It's just fun. You know, we all need a good dose of like trash reality TV to just get us through, you know what I'm saying? Okay. Okay. Other things for the month of February. I, okay, this is something that was fun. I did a photo shoot and you guys here heard it here first. Okay. You heard it first on the podcast. Abundant and Ambitious Mastermind is getting a makeover. It's getting a makeover. And I cannot wait for you to see this because it looks so dope. It, oh my God. I just got the first draft back from my graphic designer of the new sales page and you You guys, it's giving elevated, it's giving sophisticated, it's giving chic, it's giving CEO, it's get— oh my God, it's so cute. I'm so happy with how this turned out. So we did this photo shoot and we rented a studio and I brought my friend Alyssa and my friend Kirsten. They do like photography and videography for me. And we did this photo shoot. It was, it was really fun. It was just a fun, fun day and we got some really good images and I'm so excited to share them and like present this whole new vibe and energy that's happening with Abundant and Ambitious. It's getting a branding refresh, and we're also doing not just like editing the front end, like the branding, but we're also doing some backend updates to A&A to kind of like improve the client experience inside of the mastermind. And so, uh, the OBM that I've brought on my team this year, she's been helping me a lot with that, and we have some really cool, exciting updates for the client experience of A&A. So I'm just really, really excited for that to open up again. There are quite a few of you that are already pre-enrolled because you may have joined on like the Black Friday offer or you got in on the pre-enrollment at some point. But the doors will open again, um, later in March off the back of our next free masterclass that's coming up. So I'm going to be hosting a free masterclass on March 10th. So you can get personal, like your personal business questions answered for 10 days, Telegram business coaching with me. And we're gonna tell you how you can access that on the masterclass. It's gonna be fun. I'm gonna share with you like the 10 growth codes and keys to building a lucrative coaching business in an oversaturated industry. It's gonna be fun. And then we're gonna do 10 free days of business coaching after that. So yay. Okay. My last and final share about the month of February is I started posting on YouTube, which is so exciting. So we've actually been posting on YouTube for a while, but just Shorts. So this month we started doing full video episodes of the podcast on YouTube, which has been, it's been interesting. We have almost 200 subscribers. Woo woo. Love all 199. 80-something of you. Um, I mean, anytime you start something new as a business owner, it is a humbling experience, but learning to evolve and put your work out there in new ways is essential. And I think being a beginner at something really teaches you a lot. Um, but yeah, like, please go subscribe on YouTube. But it's been fun and it's been, it's been really cool to see some of you guys watching the podcast. And to see me on like your TV screens, if you have YouTube on your TV and you post that to your Instagram stories, like, that's crazy. My mom sent me a picture the other day. She was like, I got you on the big screen, baby girl. And I'm like, oh my God, I'm literally in your living room. Like, does it feel like you're in my house? And she's like, yes, you're in my room, because you guys know my office is also our spare bedroom. So when she comes to stay with me, this this is the room that she stays in. So that's the background of my videos. And she's like, that's my room. So anyway, it's been, it's been cool. It's been fun. And I am enjoying the process. Um, so yeah, we are on YouTube. We'll leave a link in the show notes as well. If you want to go click over and subscribe, watch some of the episodes on video. I love video podcasts, to be honest. It just depends on like what I'm doing. If I'm going for a walk or if I'm driving, obviously not, but when I'm like making my breakfast or around the house, like I really do enjoy the video podcasts. I think they're so much fun. So I hope you guys are enjoying them as well. The schedule that we're working on right now is, uh, we are publishing all the, like the brand new audio episodes. You guys know since day one, since July 1st, 2020, we've had a new episode every single Wednesday and we are still doing that. So audio episodes will drop on Wednesdays., and then the video for that episode will go up on YouTube on that Friday. So if you don't tune in on Wednesday on audio, then just know on by Friday the YouTube episode will be up. So if you wanna watch the video version, you can. So Wednesdays on Apple, Spotify, wherever, and then Fridays on YouTube. All right. I think that's all for me. What a month. February always goes by so quickly. There's that running joke that like January feels like like 3 years in 1 month, and then February flies by simply because it's like a few days shorter, which makes zero sense, but whatever. I did feel like I just recorded the last bonus episode about where I shared with you guys like the whole thing that happened to me at the end of last year, and I cried, and it was a much more— this is like a very light and fun episode. The last bonus episode was, it was deep. Deep. It was sad. It was, it was all the things. So hopefully we got like a good vibe switch up for you this month, a little bit more energy, a little bit more lightness, a little bit more humor, a little bit more fun. As always, thank you guys so much for tuning in. I love you so much, and I will talk to you next week. Bye!
