The Resurgence of Traditional Christian Values within the New Age Community: Spirituality on a Spectrum w/ Talyn Fiore
21 Aug 2024 · 69 min
In this episode of the Makeshift Happen podcast, host Samantha Daly interviews certified Reiki master and author Talyn Fiore to explore the growing trend of New Age practitioners returning to traditional Christian values. The conversation begins with an overview of the phenomenon, then delves into Talyn’s personal background: a childhood in Las Vegas marked by a rags‑to‑riches father, intense achievement pressure, and a profound grief after her father’s sudden death at age 18, which sparked her spiritual awakening. Talyn describes how breathwork, meditation, ayahuasca, and Reiki became tools for processing trauma, and how she came to view Reiki as the Holy Spirit, merging New Age energy work with Christian faith. She shares her practice of following intuitive “breadcrumbs,” traveling wherever intuition leads, and the concept of the “invisible ROI” – trusting intuitive nudges that later reveal hidden benefits. The dialogue expands to a broader cultural analysis, using a pendulum metaphor to describe society’s swing from New Age liberalism to a resurgence of Christian traditions, and argues that this swing creates space for a more inclusive, non‑black‑and‑white spirituality. Talyn also outlines her Whisper Method for manifestation, emphasizing self‑worth, inner dialogue, and clearing subconscious blocks before “becoming” desired outcomes. The episode includes promotional spots for a story‑selling course and a listener‑of‑the‑month giveaway, and concludes with Talyn’s promotion of her Instagram, website, and a recent book, Waking Up: An Ode to Alchemy, which blends poetry, photography, music, and Reiki‑infused practices.

What's up guys, welcome back to the podcast. Today we've got an interesting episode for you. You might have been able to tell by the title that this could go one of two ways. I personally don't think that this is a very controversial topic, but anytime we throw religion into the mix, you always know some people are going to have their hot takes and have their opinions. However, I wanted to bring this conversation to the podcast because it's something that I have been noticing a lot recently and also have been talking about in my inner circles of friends and other spiritual leaders, business clients, other coaches. And it might be something that you've noticed in the online space as well, especially within the kind of New Age spirituality community. There has been this resurgence of traditional Christian values, and a lot of people that used to be very hardcore New Age are now swinging back over to some more traditional values—
Christianity.
They are exchanging the word universe for the word God, or maybe even claiming themselves as Christians. They're sharing more about about their journey of going to church or returning to certain practices that align with a Christian faith. And I think this is just a really interesting phenomenon for us to look at, for anyone, whatever religion you subscribe to, if any, whether you identify as spiritual, spiritual curious, religious or not, it doesn't really matter. I'm a Sagittarius, so philosophical conversations are my love language, and I really love being able to talk about things and put it out in the open and just share where we're at. And so I'm joined today by Talon Fiori, and she's a certified Reiki master and an author. She talks a lot about manifestation, about energy work, and so many other things. But this conversation just kind of came into flow naturally because her and I started jamming a little bit before we hit record, and then I was like, I really think that this is a conversation that needs to happen on the podcast, and she was down for it. So we decided to kind of touch on some of those gray areas of spirituality. Talon and I are both individuals who believe that things don't have to be so black and white, either or, true or false. We love to play in the gray, and I hope that you do too as you tune into this episode because it is a really juicy one. So yes, we are going to dive in and share our candid thoughts on this recent resurgence of traditional Christian values within the New Age community, but we're also going to talk about energy, Reiki, travel, manifestation, and more. I do want to issue a quick trigger warning because we are going to discuss grief, death, and the loss of a parent. Talon shares the story with us about the profound loss that was the catalyst to entire spiritual awakening. We talk about Reiki and the Holy Spirit and if these things are one and the same. Talon's commitment to traveling wherever her intuition pulls her without question. The art of non-attachment and holding the faith no matter what. Why God, Source, Universe is the OG marketer, always selling us what we want and then giving us what we need. The invisible ROI of choosing yourself and following those intuitive pings, eating the breadcrumbs, as I say, and how that has showed up in Talon's life. The pendulum swings from modern to more traditional spirituality, and also some of Talon's methods on manifestation and her perspectives on it and how she uses it to test the limits of her human experience. I think you guys are really going to love this episode. If you're down for the conversation, if you're down for living in the gray alongside of us, then let's dive in. Welcome to the Makeshift Happen podcast. I'm your host, Samantha Daly. Entrepreneur, life coach, and your no BS bestie here to bring you all things mindset, manifestation, and personal development. This podcast is designed to help you expand your mind and uplevel your life. So turn the volume up and roll the windows down if you're coming along for the ride. Let's go make shift happen.
All right, welcome to the show, Talon. I'm really excited to have you here and to talk about all the things. We had to hit record with urgency because you guys, before, before we jumped on, we were already like, we've known each other for 2 seconds and we're already digging into like the intersection of spirituality and Christianity and God and all these different beliefs. So you know that, uh, Talon is going to be a guest that that we're gonna just vibe together with, and you're gonna love this conversation. I can already feel it. So I'm really excited to have you here and share your journey and your wisdom and our shared kind of like values and different perspectives of life and energy and manifestation and all the different things. So welcome to the show. I'm really, really excited to connect and to have you here.
Thank you so much. I'm so excited to have this conversation. I just feel like we clicked in so early, so I'm excited for it.
I know, I know. We instantly locked in and then we're like, wait, We need to record this.
Press record.
Yeah, this needs to be part of the podcast. So, okay, we have so much that we can dig into, and I, I'm excited about that. But I first want to also kind of get a better understanding for your background of just like where you grew up and what your family dynamic was like. You are a person who loves to travel, who lives their life kind of walking this journey of faith and intuition and just trusting those pings and constantly moving from here to there, or wherever it feels like you're being called to. And I think it's really interesting when you meet someone like that to inquire, you know, what helped create that type of person, you know, what was the experience that molded them. So I'm just curious, like, where you grew up and what your family dynamic was like. And maybe it was some— nothing like kind of what, what your values or what your life is like today.
Yeah, it was such a great question. It's interesting, I was speaking to my brother the other day and he actually looked at me and said, "How did you become the opposite of what you've always been?" He said, "You've always been so obsessed with details and planning and knowing what comes next and having every single moment laid out for you." And he was like, "Now you literally move all over the country. You take things in minute by minute, 24 hours." He's like, "How is that even possible? I've seen you become the exact opposite." And I just said, "Faith." I have learned that there is so much for me that is not in my current perspective. And I used to be so controlling and I used to think I knew everything best. And it wasn't until God, the universe, whatever you feel called to call it, really pushed me outside of that and showed me the magic is in the unknown. The magic is in the things that I can't orchestrate because I only have a limited perspective. So to give you a little backstory, I'm from Las Vegas and I grew up with a family that was very into family and very into physical things. It was very much— my dad was kind of a rags-to-riches story. He was really, really poor, homeless at times, and became very self-made wealthy. So there was a big emphasis on things and how we looked to the outer world and the perfect family, where the dynamic inside the house was quite turbulent, I would say. There was a lot of love there, that was always for sure. My parents put us before anything, but there was a lot of uncertainty walking on eggshells around my dad. He was either the hero or the villain. You never knew which one it was gonna be. He was a very big kind of creative genius, kind of Steve Jobs type that he could make miracles happen. And he taught me from day zero that anything was possible. He told my brother and I that we were better than everyone else and that Fioris meant something and that we were destined for greatness. And if you can believe it and you do hard work, you can achieve it. So I feel very blessed in that. In that sense, that that is part of my initial programming as a human being. I have intense drive because I know anything is possible. Um, also in that same vein, my brother was very much exalted as the center focus of our family. So as much as I believed anything was possible, I very much felt I grew up in his shadow. I grew up in hockey rinks watching him play hockey and watching him play sports. It wasn't until later that I was given my own hobby. So it created a chip on my shoulder of feeling less than and feeling like I had to vie for my parents' attention and I had to be the best. So straight A's, you know, starring in the plays, lettering in state, like I did everything because I felt like I had to earn love. So that's where that really controlling, um, Type A people pleaser kind of was molded from a very early stage. I also acted, and so I learned very quickly on how to perform for people, to realize, oh, this person likes when I'm a little bit more coy, this person likes when I'm a little bit more outgoing. And I very much learned that from my father as well. He was a big exaggerator, he was a great storyteller, but I would see, oh, he shifted his story a little bit for that audience and a little bit for that. So I learned very early on, um, to not be myself in a sense, and to become what people wanted. And to be— my brother would always say that, you know, as a young kid it was so annoying when girls were emotional. So I became very stoic, and I'm very emotional in real life, but I became this cool girl that let things fall off her shoulder and didn't show my emotions. And it really kind of formed this person that was very successful, and I did well in school and in testing. I was popular, but I very much felt like I didn't belong my entire life inside. I felt a deep depression for most of my life. Um, I felt alone even though I was surrounded by people because I don't think I was letting people see always the real me. So how could they make me feel— how could I feel connected? So it kind of created this very socially busy, lonely world, and nothing could feel the— fill the void inside of me. Um, you know, the grades, the plays, all of it, the scholarships, like nothing made me feel good enough because all I really wanted was my parents' attention. And it seemed to be the one thing that I couldn't quite get. So since then, I've done so much work and I'm so thankful for all of that because it shaped me into being— I'm very creative and observant because I kind of lived in my own little world and I grew up reading books and watching movies. So it's created this ability to create worlds and I've become an author and I've written books and it's created, you know, your trauma and your pain always creates your gifts. So I am so thankful for my childhood. I'm so thankful that since then I've done so much work looking at it and realizing I was so loved. And it was just, as a child, you choose what you are and then you see everything through that lens, whether it's true or not. So since then, I've shattered a lot of those beliefs that I wasn't seen and that I wasn't loved because I was, but I chose to believe that I wasn't. And then you just, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy over and over. So now I've, I've really looked back and I see it as a beautiful gift. I was given everything that I was wanted and my parents knew that I was capable, so they didn't feel like they needed to give me as much attention. But it's actually just because they thought I was so brilliant. And yeah, it really informed my life. I lost my dad at 18 suddenly, and that was the kind of D-Day of my spirituality, if you will. And even that, I'm so incredibly grateful because it's shaped me into who I am today and the ability to help millions of people all over the world. So I just am highly grateful for the good and what people perceive as bad, but I don't even see things as bad anymore. I just see as gift and lessons. Yeah.
Okay, so I have something I think you're really gonna love and your business is gonna love it even more. Do you wanna steal the strategy I've been using to seduce premium buyers and sell out my offers on Instagram Stories. Chances are you're already posting, you're already making sales. But if your Instagram Stories aren't working as hard as you are, you're leaving money on the table. Sold Out Stories is going to teach you exactly how to change that so that you can sell out any offer at any price point. And even high-caliber coaches miss this because selling on stories isn't about how much you post or how frequently you show up face to camera. It's about psychological sequencing. And the way you're posting right now might be giving the premium buyers in your audience the ick. Documenting your day and hoping it builds trust, posting look-at-me content and calling it authority, sharing client wins as soon as they drop in instead of strategically weaving them into a story selling sequence designed to drive demand and convert sales. We both know that you're not here to learn how to show up more. You're here because you know your content could be converting faster and more effectively. Sold Out Stories is gonna give you 5 high-converting story selling frameworks built specifically for premium buyer psychology. Inside, you'll get over 6 hours of deep dive video trainings, real IG story breakdowns, and live walkthroughs that show you exactly how to elevate your slides from authority building all the way to offer flow in less than 10 slides. My clients have already been using these frameworks to pull 5-figure sales days while posting less. One client generated 14 premium leads from a single story sequence. Another sold out her event in under 6 hours with just 8 strategic story slides. No sales calls, no paid ads, just the right frameworks. You'll walk away knowing how to sequence for desire, transition into your seamlessly and sell daily without ever feeling salesy. You already know your offer is incredible, so now it's just time for your stories to sell it like it is. Grab Sold Out Stories today and turn 10 slides or less into your highest converting content. Yeah, there's a part in your bio that says a pivotal moment of profound loss steered you towards the spiritual awakening. I'm assuming that that was, you know, the ba— based on the way that you shared it, was the, the moment of losing your dad. Mm-hmm. Can you talk about what that was like? 'Cause you're a teenager, right? Or just becoming an adult at that point. Mm-hmm. Um, and you've had obviously a lot of admiration for your dad growing up, as it seems. Mm-hmm. But also some maybe frustrations towards certain parts of his personality or the dynamic. So I'm wondering what that was like for you and why it was such a D-Day or like catalyst for you to wake up spiritually and kind of transform.
Yeah, it's, it's so interesting because like you said, I admired him. He was everything to me, but also I was really afraid of him in certain ways as well. I was a very good girl because I was so afraid of getting in trouble. But the last year of his life, my brother had gone to college and so he tried to get close to me. And I very much shut that door in his face and said, "You missed it. You don't get to have a relationship with me now that my brother's gone." And it was really hard when he passed because I had just really pushed him out of my life that last year as a senior in high school. And I was 2 months into college when it happened. I happened to be home for Thanksgiving, which was a beautiful gift. We spent Thanksgiving together and he didn't wake up the next day out of nowhere. And I think the reason that it shattered me so completely was because there were so many times in my life that I wished he was dead. And so the guilt of that and the guilt of pushing away that last year was so intense. And still, I always wanted his love and his admiration and to feel like I was good enough. And it felt like in that moment I would never achieve that. And It was, he was just, he was the sun, the moon, and the stars of our family. He was the driving force. He was the cheerleader of all of us. He was the moneymaker. And it's interesting because even though that was the day that everything changed, it really wasn't until 7 years later that I actually consciously began the spiritual path. Because what happened is I got into a real, my next relationship was, which most of us do after a profound trauma is I dated someone like my father that made me feel the same way that made me feel adored and then like he was gone. So it was this give and take where I felt like I was trying to prove myself to him and gain his love and earn his love. So when that relationship ended 4 years later, it destroyed me. And I remember talking to a therapist and saying, why is this worse than my dad dying? This is so embarrassing that this is worse. And she said, you know, write a list of how your dad made you feel. And I did. And write a list of how he made you feel. And she goes, this is your dad dying. You were a freshman in college, you drank your way through college, you ignored this for 7 years, and this is your dad dying. This was you subconsciously trying to get your dad's love that you felt like you never had. And she was like, if you can heal this now, you will never date this man again. If you don't heal this, you will date this man for the rest of your life in different forms. And that was really where my spiritual journey began because it would turn the lights on. And I was like, it was so treacherous. I was cheated on, all these different things. And I was like, I I cannot do this again. So that was when, luckily, my mom is conscious, and during that depression she said, I got you this 2-week membership at a meditation studio, please go, get out of the house. And I'm a bit of an extremist, so I just latched on. I did breathwork every week for a year. I was meditating every day. I went to Bali, ayahuasca, like that was just the journey began, began, and I really turned up the heat. And it's because of that loss and because of that breakup that I am who I am today. So now I'm so grateful for both, even though they were excruciating. And I would do anything to have my father back. I was sitting one time in Bali and I remember thinking, I can understand why everything bad happens, there's always good. But I remember crying and just saying, Dad, why did you have to die? This is just too much. I'm too young. I need you. And I remember having this knowing coming over me that was, I would do anything for you your brother and your mom. And the best thing that I could do was die because it's going to change you all so profoundly into the people that the world needs. And he was— and just again, it wasn't a speaking, it was a knowing. It was this knowing of your destiny is so big that this was the sacrifice that I had to make for you to become who you're meant to be. And ever since that moment, I've been obsessed with finding the good because if I can alchemize that into a gift, I want to find it in everything in the world that makes me feel uncomfortable or sad. Wow.
I just need a breath after that. I think I'm— I might get a little teary-eyed from how emotional that is. And I know there's so many people listening to this that will be able to relate, um, as it relates to this idea of grief or, uh, losing someone, a relationship ending, breaking the cycle of dating that person that you know is a recreation of your trauma or the patterns of you trying to get love where you're never going to find it. So much in there. I'm sure as people are listening to this, they're seeing themselves and they're seeing pieces of their journey. So thank you so much for sharing that. And yeah, just the honesty and and the vulnerability with which you share of admitting, you know, there were times that I wished my dad was dead and I was crippled with guilt when he actually did die. Because like, how do you reconcile with those thoughts that you once had? But always, always at some point in the journey being able to find that alchemization or that deeper reason or that peace that comes with knowing that that, you know, the world is not out to get us, right? Our creator, God, source, universe is not creating this life or these tragedies to harm us or to push us further down or to make life more challenging. But it's those, those challenges that where we're forged, right? You're forged in the fire. It's like the melting of the clay so that it can be molded into something greater or better or more beautiful. So I just love all of the, all of the symbolism in that, in that journey. You mentioned traveling to Bali. Breathwork, meditation, ayahuasca. Like, obviously you went deep into these realms of all these different, different modalities. And then at some point you obviously became a Reiki master, and that's a huge part of, of your work. Um, so yeah, I'd love for you to just speak to some of those modalities of, you know, breathwork, Reiki, whatever it is, and from your perspective of how that changed your life and how you're seeing it change change clients' lives and people that you work with, and maybe explaining it to someone who doesn't totally understand this idea of like energy work and how through just energy or our breath we can actually change and shift and alchemize things.
Yeah, breathwork is so powerful. It was, it was honestly the catalyst that saved me. I was never able to emote in front of people, even my mom. It was something I felt very clogged at the throat chakra of, again, wanting to be that cool girl and not show my emotions. So breathwork Breathwork was one of the first times that I cried in public and just bawled. I cried every single week for a year in this class with this wonderful breathwork teacher in LA, and people would yell and scream. And what I realized is that they— my teacher used to say the issues are in the tissues, that when you have trauma, it's physically stored in your body, and breathwork is a way to release it without having to relive it, which is what I love. You don't have to go into hypnosis. You can just be bawling your eyes out and have no idea why, but know it's actually leaving your body. And the beautiful thing about breathwork is that once you get through all the, the murky water, if you will, now when I do breathwork, I have very spiritual, transcendental, almost medicine-like experiences where I go to my highest self and feel so empowered and incredible. So breathwork is— I always say it's a really great place for people to start that don't feel comfortable with energy work because it's physical. It is physical and it takes a lot of work. So if it's hard for you to sit meditation, breathwork's great because you have to actually do something the whole time that keeps your mind at bay. Um, it's very rare that I don't work with someone that they don't have an emotional release in the first session. It's like, I would say, about under 3%. Um, so I love breathwork and I love Reiki with breathwork. That's what I do with people a lot of the times because Reiki is connecting to the universal life force of energy. It is the energy that makes the sun come out every day, it makes the flowers blossom. It is how under a microscope, even though our hand looks solid, it's made of energy. It's not actually solid, it's a trick of the mind. So it is re-harmonizing with that energy that creates every single thing around us. So I always like to tell people Reiki does no harm. It is unconditional love and light, and it is of no religion, race, background. It is for everyone. And it's been such a beautiful journey because I think I never wanted to be a healer. So I always like to tell people that this was very much something that became a calling that I actually ignored for quite some time. And then as it got louder, I know not to ignore God. And so I was like, okay, I surrender, I'll do it. But I think the reason that I'm able to help people so deeply is because for so long I was just seeking as as someone who wanted to be healed. So I wasn't learning things to try to say, oh, how can I teach this? It was just help me, help me get my head above water, help me feel less alone, help me feel less broken. And so all the modalities I've done have never been to teach, they've just been to heal. And so with Reiki, same. I never planned on becoming a Reiki healer or master. I did it to work on myself. And as I progressed through the levels, gifts start coming in where I would work on other people and I would hear things and I would say, what was that? It was almost like my gifts started coming online and I realized maybe this is something that's bigger than just me. And still ignoring it for quite some time, I had this dream of Hollywood and being an actress and I was, you know, I got almost got a television show made and I was doing entertainment and all these different things that are so different from healing. But then the call just kept getting louder and louder and I was like, I moved into a house that had an empty room and I said, I said, can I make this room into a meditation studio, Reiki room? And she was like, sure. So I was like, okay, might as well just see if I do this on the side and see what happens. And it just blew up, like no marketing. I built my own website and just all by word of mouth, it just blew up in LA. And I was like, huh, that was easy. And it's interesting to pay attention to what's easy. And working with people is such a gift because for someone who lived in her mind for so long, I did, you know, let's say around 6 or 7 years of healing myself and every workshop, every book, every course you can think of for treat. It was really when I started working on others that I really started to transform because I was able to get out of the way and become a conduit for this universal life force of energy to flow through me. When you give Reiki, you receive Reiki. So I realized it was after I started working with people almost daily that I was also getting daily Reiki. And it was when I was able to have the focus be someone else. So many times when you're working on someone, a message comes through for them that you needed to hear.

But you wouldn't have heard it from yourself because you're too biased. So you say it for them and you start laughing because you're like, wow, that's exactly what I needed to hear. Yeah, I could find it for you and not me. We're all just mirrors of each other. So it's been this incredible thing that Reiki is so powerful. If the whole world was Reiki 1 certified, the world would change because it reminds you that you you have the power of life in your hands, that you can put your hands on yourself and make yourself feel better, that you can reattune your energy, you can protect your energy, you can harmonize your energy. So that's really a huge goal of mine, is to get like the World Level 1 certified. And Level 1's all about yourself, that has nothing to do with becoming a healer for others. And there's just so many modalities that I could go into, but you just— it's about listening. Thing. Like I mentioned, I used to be so controlling, and now I just let God drive me everywhere. He says, go to Hawaii. I say, okay, I don't know why. And then I find the magic there. He says, you know, go to Sedona, move every— sell everything, go to Sedona. I say, okay, because I know that there's always magic that I can't understand why yet. But I have been led on the most miraculous almost 2 years— no, a year and half of travel that would just— I could write books upon books of the miracles of there is something larger than us that is leading us, whatever you want to call it, God, the universe, source. And it is miraculous if you just get out of your own way what can happen.
Yeah, this is so funny because I literally just taught a workshop a couple of days ago and I was talking about this exact thing. This is what I call the invisible ROI. Which is like the return on the investment that you can never see and you don't know that it's coming, but you just have to trust that it's there. So when you receive those nudges, pings, breadcrumbs of like, go here, do this, try that. And a lot of times they're these like miscellaneous puzzle pieces that don't— you can't see yet how like this is going to be the thing that opens your mind to a different concept or gives you a business idea or connects you with someone that changes the trajectory of your future. Like you can't see why it's important that you do it, which is why it's called the invisible return on investment, right? That's how I view it. But it's like, it's so important that we trust ourselves to follow that because there is that invisible return on choosing yourself, on receiving, you know, the download or the idea or the nudge and going, okay, I'm going to— because a lot of times it's inconvenient, right? Most of the time, most of the time, spend, spend a bunch of money on something that seems like just, oh, you're just going to go to Hawaii, that's a vacation, that's trivial, that's a waste of money, that's a luxury, that's something I don't need, right? That's how we view it when we're trying to operate through the logical mind. But of course there's that nonsensical side of the magic of that higher power that's guiding us, which is why we have to cultivate the trust. So I love that you live your life quite literally in that way. Um, and I think, you know, for a lot of people it doesn't have to be as intense as, you know, being committed to going wherever for 2 years. Although if you want to go on a journey, like, I'm sure you would learn so much about yourself and yeah, things would radically change for you. But there's also so many small ways that I think people are just— they're too busy saying no that they're not actually realizing that there were a lot of opportunities for them to receive clarity. There were a lot of opportunities for them to receive the next step, and they're still stuck in the feeling of uncertainty or stuckness. But it's because they're busy saying no. They're not saying yes to those things that have that invisible return. So I love that you're kind of like a living embodiment of that concept, and you really guide your life in that way and, and walk in faith.
And there is, I wanted to mention too, there's always, there's always a reason. Like you said, I didn't plan on being a healer. Like I mentioned, it was only because I moved to Sedona that my whole business started. So it was like I was given this gift of my content taking off. That was another thing I didn't wanna do, but 3 people were like, you have to get on content. And I was so opposed, but when things happen in 3s, I always do it. So it simultaneously happened that the content took off and I was traveling. And so people wanted online sessions. Sessions. So even though I had an in-person practice for a year and a half, I never ever planned on doing virtual, but then it just happened and I was like, oh my gosh, I thought I was going to Sedona to work on a book. Here I was going to Sedona to get an entire business that would change the course of my life forever. Yeah. So sometimes realizing you get a ping and your, your logical brain thinks it's for X, but it's actually for Y, but the X has to get you there.
Right.
So it's also being really unattached within the faith of, I could have gone to Sedona and be like, I need to write my book. I have to write my book. This is why I'm here. But you have to allow, once you get to the next piece of the faith, piece of the magic, to just allow the attachment to go. Because sometimes the, you know, God uses our logical mind to move us and then it's like, oh, that was just to get you here. But actually it's not time for that book right now. It's actually time for this business. Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's so funny. Yeah, um, God, Source, Universe, whatever you want to call it, really good at marketing, you know?
Sell them, sell them what they want.
This is what we always talk about, right, in marketing. It's like, sell them what they want, give them what they need. And that is literally happening in our lives. It's like, okay, I'm gonna sell her what she wants, what she thinks is like the thing, which is a book. I'm gonna give her what she needs, which is this whole new business model that's actually going to liberate her time and freedom and, you know, open her up to all these other breadcrumbs that I have waiting for her, but I just have to get her in the right spot so that I can give them to her. Yeah, because that's crazy how that works. I know. So we're talking a lot about God and faith and, and trust, and so I kind of want to open up the conversation to what we were chatting about a little bit before we hit record as it relates to, you know, this spiritual journey that you went on of, you know, modalities like breathwork and mindfulness. And I'm sure there was yoga in there, and you mentioned plant medicine and all these other things. But it's like, you're obviously someone who believes in God, and I've heard you share before that you believe that Reiki and other spiritual modalities like astrology, whatever, and God are also so complementary, and that, um, it's not this like one or the other sort of thing, but it's really like God gave us these tools and these spiritual modalities so I think in my perspective, it's like, it's almost like the reason why there are so many healers in the world, because not everyone is going to resonate with one way of teaching or one way of looking at something. And so why not, if you are the creator of the universe and you have infinite intelligence, why not create multiple really cool modalities or ways for people to tap into the magic and access it? Like, I think it's to create variety so that more people can be in tune with themselves, but also to be faithful in something larger than themselves, whatever it is that they want to call it. But if I were God and if I were strategizing, how do I get more people feeling alive, feeling connected, believing, walking in faith, you know, being able to follow the breadcrumbs so that they can live in purpose? I wouldn't just choose one way, you know, I would have this variety of, of ways where people can find me, you know, and that one may lead to the next and the next and the next. And whatever resonates the most is what you stick with and how you kind of live your life. But ultimately, by doing that as God, I'm helping more people live a better, more faithful, more trusting, more purposeful, more fulfilled life. So yeah, I'd love for us to just kind of talk about this because it's— there's a resurgence, right, of, of Christian values, of traditional values, of God in, in the secular space, in the New Age space, in, in within the spiritual community. There's a lot of people that are returning to idea of Christianity, God, the Bible, Jesus, whatever. Um, so I'd love to hear your perspective on how, you know, those two things kind of like merge and come together and how we can be less black and white in that.
Yeah, I love this question because I have been focusing so much— every Sunday I do a post about God. It's like this commitment I've made because I used to be afraid to talk about it because I was so afraid that my New Age quote-unquote followers would leave, right? So there was a bit of fear there. And to give you a bit of backstory, I was raised in a non-denominational Christian church, rock band, super casual, always really liked God, got baptized, you know, um, went to a religious college. Uh, I feel like when my dad passed, I didn't ever get mad at God, but I definitely stopped going to church because I was in college. You know, I'd go with my mom on holidays, but it kind of became her faith after that. It was like I was only going because she wanted me to go. I didn't really feel connected at church anymore. It just was kind of me being a good daughter whenever I would go. And then I kind of stopped going altogether because she kind of stopped going as much. So in our family, we— family Sundays were law. Like in our— it was like "Fiori family Sunday, no one's allowed over church every Sunday," something my dad was very passionate about. So that kind of fizzled adult. As we became adults, you know, it kind of fell away. My, um, and we kind of— it was fine. I didn't feel the hole at all. And then I fell in love with New Age spirituality. It lit me up. And I remember then I would go to church and I would kind of be amused because I would look at all these people like, wow, they just like think it's this one God, or I think it's all these things, right? And then it's interesting, it was Reiki, believe it or not, that brought me back to God, which you would never think because it's not something that's linked to God, you know, when you learn about it. Um, I was certified in all 3 levels, and I had a friend invite me to church in 2022 in October, and it was the first time I ever went to church on my own accord with a friend. And I went. I've always loved singing the worship songs. That's always my favorite part. And as I was singing, my Reiki turned on like bam, and I was sweating. And I, I don't like in general sweat. It's like a genetic thing. But when I do Reiki, I get really hot. So I was singing in this church with my friend and my Reiki was just beaming. And I just had this moment of, of course, what Reiki is, is the Holy Spirit. And it was this moment that profoundly shifted me. I have been to church or watched church online every Sunday since. And up until that point, I had probably been to church maybe 3 times in like 5 years. And it was this profound experience of even though it wasn't Christianity that came super online for me in that moment, it was this moment of there is something here from my childhood that I always found a lot of joy in that is in Reiki. And I don't know how the two merged together, but I know that when I sing worship songs to God, I feel filled with something, and it's what I call from my lens the Holy Spirit. So it was this thing that I just started being really curious. I was traveling a lot, like I mentioned, at the same time. So I would just go to a church everywhere I was. So I'd go to church in Tahoe, in Shasta, you know, in Grass Valley, wherever I was. And it was so interesting. It was almost like this buffet of Christianity of, oh wow, that one was really loose. Oh, this one's really into scripture. Oh, this one's like really into like tongues or whatever it is. So it was this almost exploration of the Christian faith from this new lens of choosing Christianity as an adult, as my religion, not as something that I was spoon-fed as a child, but this is something that I'm actively participating in. And even now, I would say that I'm more spiritual than religious. I think that there are a lot of issues in history with, you know, religion as a whole. I believe that there is a God that's bigger than a word that all religions are pointing to, that I went to I went to a religious college and I did a world religions class. And I remember thinking how similar the religions are.
Yeah.
The stories are just different, but they're all saying the same thing in a different way. And there's a lot of repeating numbers and patterns. So I have this belief that there is one God that we are all praying to in different languages by different names. But it is this collective love and understanding and purpose. And I have noticed that the first time I posted about God on my channels, probably over a year ago, I was quite nervous, but I felt really called to, and I was like, okay, you know, I'll do it for you, God, I'll do it. And since it's actually become quite a passion of mine because I have noticed there is 95% of people so thankful that I said something. They were like, oh my gosh, I love God and I love crystals and I love astrology, and why, why have I been so afraid? And a lot of people get very judged by their Christian friends. I have personally never really experienced experienced that. But I think that this is what happens in my belief. I know who I am. I know my belief is so strong that doubters don't even find me because I know who I am. So I don't even attract the people that typically question me. I think in the beginning when you're wobbly and you have that doubt, you sometimes attract those doubters that are gonna poke holes in what you believe. And that's not right or wrong. That's actually just the opportunity to kind of re-up on your faith even more. Those hard questions force you to actually think, what do I believe? What do I actually think in my heart? And I am just so passionate about a God that loves us, like you said, that has given us countless tools— astrology and moon cycles and crystals of the earth and healing modalities. And, you know, it's interesting, we— I think a lot of people grew up in the church where like a priest would put their hands on someone and heal them them. It's the same thing as Reiki, it's just a different name. So I think it's just this judgment and it's either or, black and white, where it's really this and. People do sometimes come on my page and say, you know, when I'll do Reiki, they'll say, you should really be praying to God. And I go, I do every day. And I think that really knocks them back because they're like, God wouldn't allow this. I go, I don't know the God that you know, but Jesus, I'm like I'm like really into the New Testament. I'm like, you know, religion got kind of, got really man-induced. So Jesus come to reteach us how to love each other, non-judgment, inclusion. And so anytime someone comes at me, I go, are you treating me the way Jesus would, the person that you're saying I should talk to? And I'm just such a believer in, you know, most people when they think of their values or the values of a really kind, loving life, it's the values of what Jesus taught. And there's a lot of secular conversations going on that, like I mentioned to you before we jumped on, the more people are studying science, the more it is pointing to there is purpose, there is meaning, there is divine order, because it is too impossible that things would be this mathematically perfect and precise if we were all an accident.
By chance. Yeah. By coincidence.
Yeah.
So true. So true. I think one of the, one of the really cool parts of, you know, going on that pilgrimage that I did told you about through ancient Egypt was discovering that Jesus was one of the initiates of the Egyptian magic and kind of was in that whole world. And I think it's never talked about, right? And I do think that, yeah, as you said, it's like religion is something that was manufactured. It was created by man. And a lot of the black and white thinking and the divisiveness and the this is right and this is wrong wrong, and you can't do that because you're channeling demonic energies, or crystals aren't real, or whatever those kind of like really intense like black or white beliefs are. Even if it's about homosexuality or whatever, like that is put in the box of religion, which was constructed originally for political purposes and for power and control, and to make sure that people behaved in a certain way and believed a certain set of things so that society could be orderly. And that's not actually what spirituality or faith or God or the life of Jesus even is, right? That's like the man-made version that tries to keep us in control, because people forget that religion was the original politics. That is the way that was created. Yeah, it's the way that we created order through societies. And, and yes, I think being able to— like, I have so much peace within myself of knowing that I can have a relationship with God, I can believe in the story of Jesus, I can have reverence for his life and the sacrifice and all of that. I can go to church, I can sing worship songs, I can do all of that, and I— it doesn't mean that I have to denounce Crystal or tell people that they are demonic or bad for having a tarot deck. Um, it feels like, as you said, if you, if you would like to be more Christian or more godly, whatever the word is for you, what you're really saying is that you would like to be more like Jesus. And if you would like to be more like Jesus, then you would be more accepting and you would actually open your arms to people that are doing things that you don't understand hand. Jesus was the person who, you know, befriended the traitors, the prostitutes. Like, all of that is, is there. And so I think we become more connected as a world and as a society, not only with ourselves but with our neighbors, by recognizing that, you know, everything doesn't have to be this or that, black or white, right or wrong, this one God or else you're completely off course and you're going to go heaven and hell. I think that sort of thinking for me is just very, um, is very like limited and sort of infantile in a sense. Um, exactly. Some people have not— some people have not matured in their spirituality to be able to, um, see multiple sides or kind of like have that variety of belief and find the intersection and know that what works for them is amazing, but it doesn't have to mean that everybody else else is, is wrong, or that they need to be receiving negative comments on the internet or whatever else it is.
Yeah, and it's such an interesting thing because so many things in the New Age world are of the earth. Plant medicine is grown from the earth, crystals come from the ground, astrology is measuring the stars. So it's so interesting to me that it's like this demonic— it gets this wrap of that. It's like we're literally interpreting what God has put here. And it's again so precise and measurable of people working with crystals or different herbs or whatever it is, of we can measurably see the results of these things. So then you're bringing in God and science, and I just think it's the most beautiful thing. And I think that a lot of us have been conditioned into a limiting belief structure, and so the more that you're able to actually sink into your heart heart and not your mind of, I went to a new moon ceremony, let's say, how did it feel in my heart? Did it feel demonic or did it feel expansive and inclusive? And it's not to say that there aren't bad things out there, of course, there's always two sides to every coin. So I've worked with darker energy and it does exist, and that's not what I'm talking about at all. It's about the things that are done out of love and light And I think the more that we can— I think it all comes from this, right? People don't accept themselves. So it's all coming from that rejection and that judgment within. So then they judge without. So if we could all just take a beat and then love ourselves and accept ourselves, we would be much more accepting of those around us and allowing someone else's belief not to challenge our own. I am so okay with someone believing the exact opposite of me because it doesn't change me at all. It doesn't challenge who I am. So if people just felt more sure of who they were, they wouldn't feel the need to defend. So much.
Yeah, yeah. I think there is this, um, this element too of kind of like a, a little bit of like when someone is in a state of victimhood, let's say, it feels really good to receive. That's what a lot of us want. We're like, just tell me what to do and I'll do it. And so it feels really good sometimes to have this like very clear, structured prescription of what is allowed and what is not allowed and what you need to do and what you need to not do. And that feels really good for people sometimes if they're like in that kind of like chaos of, of just wanting like, tell me what to do. And I think that's where, you know, religion has brought a lot of, uh, peace for people, is like, okay, I have this structure, I know what to do and what not to do, and I know what to follow. Um, but there's so much more possibility when we can actually accept ourselves enough and trust ourselves enough to be open beyond the man-made rule books. And although some of those rules, we might love them and we might choose to continue to abide by them because, like you said, they feel good in our heart, but to also stay open that, you know, the idea of rules— those rules have always been created by men. They were never created by, by anyone else.
Yeah. And I think also allowing yourself to change your mind. Yeah. Like, I think that people get so hung up on, I'm this, I'm a vegan, I'm a Christian, like, of these words, these and they're so petrified to go out of them. I used to be the type that I would make fun of someone like me, like totally. Like, I say this in seriousness, when I was acting in LA, there was a guy in my acting class that was like vegan and spiritual, and I thought that he was such a nut. I was like, oh my gosh, this guy always talking about like bean sprouts and like the sun, and like I couldn't handle it. I am best friends with that guy now, and it's so funny that I I think just being, allowing yourself to try the buffet of life, and it's not to say that you're always gonna want it, you know? I have done so many things throughout my exploration, and I just imagine God up there just kind of watching me like, "Oh wow, she's gonna really go down that rabbit hole, but I know she's gonna come back to me." He doesn't mind the exploration. He doesn't mind us being human and wanting to seek and feel and taste and touch and understand and experience and explore. At least my God doesn't. And I just think it's the ability ability of allowing yourself to change your mind. People are so petrified to step outside of their comfort zone because what if they can't get back inside their comfort zone?
Or to contradict themselves.
Exactly.
Like you said, like, your current self or your future self is going to be— um, if you allow yourself to grow, you will be a contradiction to who you were in the past.
Exactly.
Inevitably so. And like, for some people, it's too much for the ego to handle. It's too embarrassing. Embarrassing to be like, oh, I'm not like that anymore, or I changed my mind, or I've changed my beliefs a little bit.
Who has a Facebook memory come up that they're not embarrassed about? First of all, like, we all do, you know? And like you said, you should be— you should always look back and think, wow, I, I didn't know better, because you know better now. And you— I always want to look back and be embarrassed of who I was because that means I've grown and I've explored and like seeked out more things. And I think that I never thought when I was doing New Age that I would come back to the church. That was— I never thought I'd go New Age. I never thought I'd come back to the church. So I just allowed myself to be pleasantly surprised constantly. And, and never— I also tell people, like, allow me to change my mind. In this moment I'm saying this, but I could change my mind tomorrow. And I want you to do the same, because we are constantly evolving. We're constantly getting new information. And I want to be able to look at the new data and say, oh, this is what I believe Yeah.
And I think you have to be really self-assured to be able to do that, to be able to constantly allow yourself the permission to evolve, to change your mind, to change your beliefs, and then to change back again, or to, you know, integrate something from your past that you were like, oh, I don't believe that anymore. And then later on you're like, well, I kind of like, yeah, I kind of do want to integrate that back in. But like, I also have all this new context and new perspective. So it's sort of a mixed bag now. You know, I wonder what your perspective is on, because I had mentioned to you how I feel like what I'm witnessing is this pendulum swing thing where society as a whole went really far to like New Age, liberal— liberalism, like spirituality, like be whoever you are, whatever you want, like everyone is free, accepting of everything, all of that. And then there is this resurgence of these, you know, Christian values, and we see like the tradwife trend, and, and there's a lot more like homesteading and back to the farm and like simple life and like And we're kind of swinging over to the other side. What's your perspective on, on that swing? And if you think we'll come back and, and how that kind of cycles through history?
Yeah, it's so interesting. I love the pendulum metaphor because I use it all the time because I do feel like generation to generation, we always seem to go the opposite of the parents before, and that will last for a few generations of you have this, you know, really tight after the Depression and everything is budgeted and very serious. And then you have rock and roll and sex sex and drugs of the '60s, and you really swing. And then you have the, you know, the atheism rise. And now we have this tide that is certainly coming back to Christianity. I was actually in church yesterday, and this— there was a guest speaker from England, and he was saying he has a podcast called Unbelievable, where he actually interviews secular scientists and all these different people and atheists, and that there's a trend even in the non-religious factor of all these people noticing that all of a sudden people are going to church more and people are having these values more of monogamy and of family after this, you know, kind of decade of not wanting to have children and not wanting to reproduce.
And it's really interesting, polyamory and, and all of that.
He called it the tide. He was like, the tide is always going to come back in. As sure as the sun will set, the tide of the ocean will always come back in, and that there's these waves in life and in values and in Christianity. And that how blessed are we to live in a time where the tide is coming back in on Christianity in this. And so when I think of the pendulum, I don't think it always goes back to the other side, right? It's like it paves the way for a new understanding where I believe the tide is coming back in on Christianity, even based with some of my religious friends where we're all like, are we wearing crosses? Are we going to church? Church, like, what is going on? And we don't know where it's come from. And I think that we had to go so far in the pendulum of freeing ourselves, freeing ourselves body, mind, and spirit, so that we could come back to see God and faith and Jesus in a different way, outside of the limiting belief of religion and of the decades of things that have happened throughout the centuries with religion. Now we can look at God through an open lens of less limits. And I think that pendulum had to swing all the way over there for us to live in this incredible time where we can have both. We can have it all, you know. I know that's like the slogan of back in the day, but we can be a mom and we can talk about the sun and, but we can also pray to God at night. And I think it's beautiful that the pendulum just kind of created a more open dialogue about all these things so we can assimilate all of them. And then hopefully when the pendulum ultimately swings again for a few generations down, it will become even more refined and even more loving and even more open. And we're all just breaking the patterns and chains for each other to ultimately lead to a better Earth and a better understanding. Because I do also believe in New Earth energy and timelines. Like, I believe in all of that kind of stuff with God. And so I believe that we're heading towards a reality of a higher frequency, and it's because God's coming back into the scene. That is a big piece of it that a lot of people that predicted this, I don't think, saw that as part of it. And I think it's God really clearing a lot of the rubble away of this man-made religion and all the mistakes that were made of— let me just come back in my purest form of the vibration of energy, just experience me in your heart without a priest, without this. Just call me in, you know, Holy Spirit, come and just feel me in a very visceral way. So I think it's beautiful. I think it's incredible that even a year ago I probably wouldn't have had this conversation with you because I wouldn't have felt so open. So I know if I'm being transformed in this way that it's not just you and I, that, you know, it's this, it's this thing that's happening that's beautiful.
Yeah, yeah. No, I'm, I was so grateful to to like find your work and your perspectives on this, because I'm like, we so align with this just idea of like being more open and finding the intersection of where everything meets instead of making certain things have to be like right or wrong and having that hard stop. So I knew I for sure wanted to bring this conversation to the podcast because there's going to be some people that like really resonate with it, or it opens their mind or cracks them open in some or even just like plants a seed of curiosity of them wanting to like look a little bit deeper into what this means for them. Yeah, if that's all we do is just like create curiosity. Um, and of course there's probably going to be some people that feel like we are totally crazy and wrong and we don't understand anything and we need to read every word of the Bible because we clearly didn't get it. Um, yeah, we missed it, we missed the whole message. And that's also fine, you know, that's because like, like, like you said, and I also feel the same way, when you're self-assured and you know who you are and you know beliefs. Um, you can allow everyone else to have theirs, and it doesn't have to mean anything about you or about them. Um, and so I love that. I, I would love to wrap up our conversation by talking a little bit about manifestation, because I know it's also something that you utilize in your life, and it's kind of this beautiful energy. I always say manifestation is less about what you do and it's more about who you be, and it's really this like way of like moving through the world, and it's this energy that you tree that allows you to attract the things that you desire, or for the things that you desire to actually attract you, or to like choose you as the vehicle to experience them or to bring them into the world. But I've heard you talk about like the Whisper Method, but I'm just going to open the— I'm going to open the floor for you to share like anything about your perspective on manifestation that you might feel called to.
Yeah, manifestation is an incredible game I like to play with the universe, and that's how I see it, as a game, as something fun to play with, to test the limits of. And I think that one thing people need to realize with manifesting, which I teach in my Whisper Method course, is that self-worth is the foundation of it. If you don't believe you are worthy of something, even if you get it for a moment, you will not be able to hold it, because you can almost like fake the frequency for like a week, let's say. It'll come and it will will leave. So it's really getting so clear about you are worthy of everything you want and not even having it be specific, but just, I am worthy of my dreams and desires because God placed them in my mind for a reason. And it was like a breadcrumb, like you like to say, there's a breadcrumb there, there's something, there's a thread that needs to be pulled, but just make sure to do the work first to feel that you are worthy of anything. And then once you do that, it becomes this incredible game of like Monopoly where you're just becoming it before, you know, the universe is always saying yes. So if you say, I want money, it says yes, you want money. So you're going to continue wanting money. You have to be so precise with your thoughts and your, your dialogue because it's going to just repeat, repeat, repeat. So I always say it's self-worth first, and then it is getting so clear on your inner dialogue because your inner dialogue is showing you what your subconscious beliefs about yourself far. And so I like to do this thing where you actually— let's say you're like in a bad mood and you're like, you want to say, why does this always happen to me? I'm so stupid. But you catch yourself, you say like, why does this always happen? I'm so incredible. And you catch yourself and it's hard at first, but again, it becomes this fun game because in that moment you're so emotionally charged, it's actually going to amplify your magnetism. To feeling like you're an idiot. So if you take that, oh my gosh, why is this always— why is everything always working out for me? You take it and you catch it. You start becoming the controller of the mind instead of letting the emotions in the mind control you. So seeing it as this fun game of, oh, can I catch it? Can I change it? Because the more you start doing that, you'll start to realize you'll do it more and more. Subconsciously and unconsciously without trying, because you have to— like you said, it's about being it. So I think money becomes the trickiest one for people because it's like, how can I just spend money and feel like a millionaire until I'm there? It's about finding abundance in things that are not money. It is finding abundance of air around you, having a good connection with someone, finding the abundance in the connection, the abundance of trees and leaves and smelling the abundance of food. It is finding that abundance and tapping into it and then just saying, I'm abundant, I'm abundant, and eventually feeling the money come in. But I am such a big believer of cleaning up underneath the river or like underneath the lake. I think there's a lot of manifestation teachers that teach these, you know, kind of like quick fix, just say this affirmation 10 times. And even the Whisper Method, they that I teach is it's teaching you the work first, and then it's saying, okay, now you can use this really easy method. But like, if you have money blocks, you're gonna have to address the money blocks before you manifest. It's just a fact. If you have blocks about not feeling worthy of love, if you manifest a partner, it's a partner that's going to remind you that you're not worthy of love. So it's really about getting clear on what are the blocks behind— like writing a list of what you want and then writing the beliefs of what are blocking you. What's blocking you? What do you believe about yourself to be true that is blocking the manifestation? And then doing the belief work around it and then living it. Once you do the belief work and then you start living it before you have it, it is guaranteed. When you become it, the law of attraction has no choice but to come into your reality. But it is cleaning up the subconscious first so that you're a vessel for the true frequency. It's like faking it till you make it works to a degree, free, but these laws are in place for a reason. The more that you understand physics, law of attraction, quantum physics, it's actually quite simple. It is a method and it's a formula, but it's just about creating, making sure you have the right ingredients on the table to bake the cake. I think people right now have all these really bad ingredients because they actually don't like themselves and they're trying to make a delicious cake and they have like vinegar and garlic and ginger on the table. I'm like, let's get the ingredients first, like put the cake aside. Take a beat, slow it down, do the work. There's a lot of spiritual bypassing going on. And so, I'm just a believer that mindset is everything, self-worth is everything, belief is everything. And also, surrendering some things. There's been a few things that I've just not been able to fix on my own that I just said, "God, please take this belief for me because it's destroying me." And, he has miraculously and instantaneously. In Hawaii, that was one reason why I was led there was to just have it be removed. So it's the work and it's also surrender. It's the work and surrender. It's such a beautiful— it's again, it's this and. It's the flow of both of them coming together because we cannot do it all on our own. And it's surrendering to that and letting it be okay and letting yourself receive support from a healer or a medicine or from God and just allowing yourself to be led head to the answers instead of thinking I have to. Because I used to be very 3D, single focus, fix myself, fix myself, fix myself, fix myself. And I had to get out of my own way. And since I have, I've healed more, expanded more, and it's just— life is the best. I just feel like manifesting is just the cherry on top of like, let's tangibly see. Like, I'm doing a game right now with— before I go to England in a few weeks— of a certain amount of money I'm I'm gonna make, and I'm pushing it farther than I've ever gone. And I'm like, all right, God, let's see. And it's just making it fun, you know? Yeah, the attachment has to not be there. If there's attachment, you're blocking it.
Yeah, I know. I think that's the really challenging part for so many people. And I love that you mentioned about like, you can fake the frequency for a while. But this is something that I even realized in my own business, was I decided that I wanted to have— I call it my like soft CEO era this year where I was going to be a little bit more soft in the sense of just being relaxed, being more open, having more time for the things that matter to me, taking my health more seriously. But I really went in, um, surrendering the need to make— like, do it but keep the same exact amount of income, or like make even more money. And because I wasn't trying to fake that, I wasn't trying to manufacture like, oh, I'm gonna rest and relax and let 'Oh, but I'm still hoping that I can make the same amount of money or make more,' because I actually surrendered myself to that and was like, 'I'll probably make less and that's okay, and I'm accepting that,' then the opposite happens.
You make more.
But it's exactly— but it's like, you can't do it with that ulterior motive underneath of like, 'I'm gonna pretend that I don't need to make more, but I'm really secretly hoping that I will.' Like, that doesn't work. It has to be the like real, actual, genuine acceptance of like, I'm choosing less. And then you'll probably be pleasantly surprised with more.
So, and this— and whenever you don't need anything, the second you stop needing it, it comes. We've all had a perfect—
yeah, which is the most annoying— the most annoying like law of the universe of like, when you need nothing, you attract everything. It's like, goddamn it, why is that? Like, why, why is that the thing? How You've all done this.
The second you're over your ex, they reach out and you're just like, this happens every time, you know? This was back in my 20s, but it's the same. It's like the second you stop needing it and you get the lesson over and over, and then like you said, you'll kind of fake it, like, I don't need that, like, I'm fine. And then it won't come and you're like, okay, well, clearly it's still got hooks in me or else it would be here. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So it has to be that like true acceptance, the true surrender, true letting go. And that's a challenge for all of us, you know. Um, well, thank you so much for coming on, Talon. I could talk to you forever. We have, you know, so many, so many things in common, and just in terms of like values and beliefs and obviously what we teach and share with the world. So it's been such a pleasure to have you on the show. Please let everyone know, you know, you mentioned your Whisper Method course, but if there's anything else you want to shout out and to let people know where you hang out online and how they can connect with you and your work, that would be awesome.
Yeah, it's, uh, my Instagram is TalonFiori and my website It's talentfury.com, so make it pretty easy for everyone. And yeah, I published a book a few months ago that I am deeply in love with. It's called Waking Up an Ode to Alchemy, and it's about— we talked about in the beginning, it's about alchemizing your pain into power. Because once you realize that you're the alchemist of your life, you become completely free, because anything bad that happens, you are able to create it into something else. So it's actually a book of poems and photography, and it actually comes with an included soundtrack with original music and Speaking the poems, it's Reiki infused. So it's meant to actually take you on a journey of when a poem strikes you or a song strikes you, close the book, write down the feeling, and then alchemize it. Either create a poem or a song or a flower arrangement or sing around or a spreadsheet. Creativity does not have to be artistic. It is just taking something that is painful and transmuting the energy into something else because then it no longer has a hold over you. You become the alchemist. So it's something that's so near and dear to my heart that has been really helpful for a lot of people, so I always just like to mention it.
Amazing. That sounds so cool. That's like incredible. And I love the idea of like create— using creativity as a means for that alchemization of the pain or the fear or the doubt or whatever is coming up and really like changing its form. Because, you know, we have that law of physics that we all know of like energy cannot be be, uh, so just change the form, just transformed.
Yeah, exactly.
