Wes Spencer walks through a worksheet that helps MSPs decide whether to keep, kill, or deepen each service. Break-fix services should be killed because they have low margins, lack predictability, and don't fit the ideal customer profile. Hand them off to a partner instead of dropping customers abruptly.

What this is going to do for us is this is going to let you start out by looking at your own MSP and what you're doing and make some decisions as a team. And so what we're starting with first in this worksheet is this idea of keep, kill, or deepen. So when we think about some of the things that we're offering, are these things that we want to continue to do, we want to stop doing, we want to do better? And so we've got some examples here. Like we've got, let's think about break-fix. Maybe you're an MSP that still does a lot of break-fix, and we say, you know, that is just something we're going to partner out. We want to kill this. But instead of just hard parting, you know, hard quitting and leaving them in the lurch, we found it. We're going to find a new partner that wants to take that business and we can peacefully transition it over. And then we asked ourselves why. And we looked at that and we said, you know, our margin's really low and there's no predictability. And this is different than like project revenue. This is just like the small-time kind of stuff that we believe is outside of our ICP. And so our next step is going to be refer this thing out.
