A short YouTube video by Dr. Ellie Campbell (Campbell Family Medicine) for American Heart Health Month. Dr. Campbell recounts a personal patient death from stroke that motivated her to study prevention, identifies oral/gum-related infection/inflammation as a hidden cardiovascular risk factor, and promotes a prevention program, her book, and in-office screening tests (carotid ultrasound, blood inflammation panel, salivary diagnostic for mouth bacteria). The overall message: heart attacks and strokes can be prevented if patients get screened and follow the program.

Foreign. Hi, everybody. I'm Dr. Ellie Campbell with Campbell Family Medicine. And this is February American Heart Health Month, and I love this month. Now, I didn't used to because I didn't used to have tools that help me like they do today. I didn't used to have tools that could protect my patients heart attack and stroke in a way that they do now. Tools that paved me nine years with no heart attacks and strokes in any patient who follows our program. How did that happen? Well, a little over 10 years ago, one of my dearest patients suffered a devastating stroke and died. And I felt gut punched. I felt like somehow I had failed her and I missed some horrible thing that led to her demise that was preventable. I just knew it. But I didn't know what that thing was. I spent three years studying every medical conference that I could go to. And my friends who wrote this book called Be the Heart Attack G they cracked the code. And talking about. I now know that the number one hidden risk factor to the number one killer in our country is Gorkwell Health. And it turned out that Dee had a toothache in the weeks leading up to her stroke. It was the oxidative stress, the inflammation, lipopolysaccharide, that lead that leached from that tooth into her brain that caused the rupture that caused her stroke, that caused her death. So now that I know that, I can't keep that secret to myself anymore. And I want to spread the word to the world that heart attacks and strokes are optional. But in my tiny little concierge practice, I don't reach a lot of people. So I wrote a book and put all those secrets together. Together focusing on blood pressure so that you'll actually pick it up and read it. And we are thrilled that cure this month we're offering three tests on carotid ultrasound to screen for vessel disease, a blood panel to look for hidden markers of inflammation, and a salivary diagnostic test to look for the mouth bacteria that can cause the inflammation that leads disrupt cause t scab. If you come to our office and you get all three tests, we're going to enter you in a dry where you can win an autographed copy of my book, a copy of Brad and Amy's Be the Heart Attack G book and Blood Pressure Hunter and a few other goodies we're adding in tell you about. So please come to the office, get yourself screened. Heart attacks are optional, strokes are stoppable, and dialysis is not your destiny. If you're willing to get the tests and do the work, so we'd love to see you here in the office. Happy Heart health month. I'm Dr. Haley Campbell.
