In 2026, getting leads on Google Ads is easier than ever. The only problem is getting profitable leads is actually getting harder and harder. And the harsh reality is most local businesses and service-based businesses who are looking at generating more leads with Google Ads are paying what I call a laziness tax. And that is because they're using Google's really, really powerful AI tools in the wrong way. It's really, really important to note that for success with Google Ads, especially in 2026, yes, you do need to be using and really leaning on Google's powerful AI tools, but you need to make sure that you've got your account structure and settings set the right way and that you're only switching over to those AI models at the right time when you've got the right amount of data inside of your Google Ads accounts. And I also wanna make note that especially for lead generation and service-based businesses, this is that real year transition where we are fast seeing businesses who have been using the old protocols that we haven't been recommending for a long time. But now that really heavily targeted approach to Google Ads is just not working anymore. So you need to make sure that you are starting to get your account set up in the right way so that you can move over to things like smart bidding and broad match keywords and also Performance Max. So we've got a lot to get through in this video, so why don't you sit back and relax as I take you through the step-by-step process for how to use Google Ads to get more leads for your business in 2026. Now, the first important step for success with Google Ads, before we even step inside of your Google Ads account, is that you really want to take a step back and really think about what I call levers and what levers you need to create in your business. And what a lever is inside of Google Ads, it's where you're controlling the money. And we generally do this through our different campaigns that we're using. Also, for service-based businesses, what you really need to be thinking about is What is the ultimate end result that you want? Because a common mistake that service-based businesses make is thinking that they have to advertise all their services to all of the locations, especially when you're starting with Google Ads. And because you want to be able to build up the right amount of data, it can make a lot of common sense to only focus on your core services in your core locations, get them profitable first, and then you can build out to different areas, different services, and different locations with your Google Ads targeting. And because I want this training to be as practical as possible, let's jump into a screen share so I can take you through the different components, set setting up your very own Google Ads account and also the strategies that you need for success with Google Ads in 2026. Let's go. First, what I want to take you inside of is what I'm talking about is to plan your account structure. You want to be able to really decide what levers you need inside of your business. And there's really sort of 4 core areas that we look at, or 4 determining factors for how to really decide what you need to be targeting inside of your Google Ads. And this is obviously your keyword or your service products that you want to focus on. The other option is seasonality. You could have some different services that are only available in winter, or other ones that get more busy in summer. Perfect example, let's just say you're a local electrician and you might have a lot of inquiries about air conditioning installations in spring coming into summer where it's getting into the warmer months, whereas that may die off in the colder months. Then you also need to be thinking about your location. And then conversion and profit metrics is important, but it's something that you're probably not focusing right at the start. Let me take you now through two real examples of different lead generation businesses and how we've gone through our rationale of targeting them. The This one is a local service business. So they offer some services around air conditioning cleaning, cleaning fans, pest control, and also smoke alarm services. But then they've also got— this business is also a franchise model. So they've got different franchises based around some different areas in and around Brisbane. So Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, and Gold Coast. So what we did with this one is that in the end, we ended up going down 4 core campaigns to start with. Now, the reason why they had 4 campaigns is because these were their different franchise models that paid their own advertising. Franchising. And then from there, we had some different ad groups based around air conditioning, pest control, smoke alarm. What we did find is some of the beachside places, so Noosa and Sunshine Coast, had a lot more work around air conditioning, whereas some of the more inland ones was more about pest control. So that was some other things we need to think about. Now, if this business didn't have a franchise model, it would make more sense to target larger geographic areas but have it focused on the services. So air conditioning, ceiling fan, pest control, and smoke alarm. But for this business, it was very much because of the franchise location. Let me look at another example. Because the big thing I really want you to take from here is it really comes down to what suits the business. And for this business, there was one business could target 1-bedroom villas in Seminyak or 2-bedroom villas in Seminyak. This business also went with 2 campaigns to start with. And that came back to because there was 2 core different types of people who were searching for these products. One bedroom villas was very much the honeymoon market, couples traveling without kids, whereas the two bedroom villas was very much a family market. So very two different distinct keyword themes and also audiences that were searching for those products. The big take home message that I want you to have from there, not that you need to have multiple campaigns, but you need to think about what works for your business. Also as a general rule, especially when you're starting out in Google Ads, I don't want you to think that more campaigns means more success. In fact, the way that I frame it, when we're working with a business about how many campaigns to start, you really want to look at the whole less is more. And looking at the goal is to have one campaign with one ad group. Very, very rarely does that happen, but what it allows you to think in framing of your head is that you need to have a really, really valid reason for having any more than one campaign or one ad group. So the first step is to really have a think about what levers or what levels of control you want in your Google Ads account. Then from there, it's a process of we need to go through and start out the key keyword research. And what we want to do here is find out what are the keywords that we want to be targeting for our business. And the way that we would go through and actually do this— and this is where you actually start to go into Google Ads— when you're in Google Ads, you want to go inside of your Tools. When you're inside of Tools, you want to go into Planning, and then you want to go into your Keyword Planner. We're going to do the keyword research for that villa resort. So what we'll do through here is that we know we want to have our one-bedroom villa Seminyak campaign. So we'll copy that URL, we'll go through Discover New Keywords, and then we'll type it through here. And what we would really recommend in through here is just to write in some keywords that you would search in order to find your products. So we've got in here one-bedroom semi-detached villa, one-bedroom private villa, some— so just some different variations from there. Now there's two bits of information that we really want to get from here. The first thing we're looking at is we are going through and looking at the keyword themes which are together. It's important to note with the way that Google's keyword match types work now, historically what you would do is that you would break out, you know, one-bedroom versus one-bedroom, even one-bedroom villa Villa Seminyak. These would all be different ad groups. But what I want to show you in through here, and we'll jump into a screen share just to make this a little bit easier, is historically you would use for your search campaign what we'd call STAGs, uh, single keyword ad groups. So you would have an ad group for one-bedroom Villa Seminyak, you'd have an ad group for one-bedroom Seminyak Villa, and then also you'd have another ad group for a private villa Seminyak, then another one for another one-bedroom private pool villa Seminyak. But with what we're using now, which is called single keyword themes, we would put all of that, because all of those keywords can just go into one ad group. What really defines as to whether you need to have a secondary ad group, it really comes back to your ad copy and your landing page. So what really becomes important is we wouldn't break this out into a separate campaign or a separate ad group until this landing page no longer becomes relevant. And that's why for us it's really around the one bedroom and two bedroom, because the ad copy and the landing page means very different things to, to the different people, to the different group that are searching. Also as well, We could then do this in the same campaign or different campaigns. It really comes down to that budget level. But for this scenario, what we're going to be doing is, as we said, we are going to be running it into this campaign. So a way that you can think about it with the keyword theme method, you've got your Google Ads account here, you'd have your service category 1, then your subcategory. So we could have it, say for example, with the example of the pest control business, we were doing it by location. So this would be location 1. They had 3 core services: air conditioning, pest control, and electrical safety checks. They would run down run through there. They would be at different ad groups. Another option is what you could do is if we wanted to, in the case of the villa resort, we would have this one would be our 1-bedroom villas and we just have 1 ad group underneath there. This one would be a 2-bedroom villa campaign with their 2-bedroom villa ad groups down there, with the main thing being is that you want your ad copy and your landing pages to all be relevant to that initial search term. All right, now let's talk about the keyword match types and why we are leaning towards a structure of having broad match keywords and also some exact match keywords in the same ad group. And the one reason for why it's becoming really important, I've just done a search in here, one bedroom private pool villa in Seminyak. It's really important to note that this search has gone inside of AI mode. And for ads to appear inside of AI mode, there's only 3 ways that this can happen. One, if you are using AI Max, which is not a product we're recommending yet. Second one is if you're using Performance Max, which if you're just starting out inside of Google Ads, we would not recommend that either. It leads to, that's why you would start with your broad match keywords. This is quite a big conversation and I do want to keep going on on to the next level of really building out your starting strategy for Google Ads. So if you stick around to the end of this video, I will show you, because I've released a full nother training about broad match keywords and how we're structuring our ad groups in 2026, and I'll show you how to do that at the end of this video. So what you want to really want to make sure when you're doing your keyword research, the real thing that you want to be picking up is, are there any different themes which go beyond one bedroom villa Seminyak? So we can see with here, remember what I said, rather than having these all in a different ad group like we would have previously up here, we had them all in one combined ad group. So for this campaign, we would start with one campaign and one ad group, and we don't need to go any further than that. And now the second thing we need to be thinking about is our starting budget. What I wanna let you know with Google Ads at the moment, remember how I said there's two things that we wanna be looking at? And we can see here with our bids is that we've got a starting budget somewhere between $0.71 through to $2.50. When it comes to Google Ads in 2026, the real focus that you wanna have is that before you start leveraging into campaign types like Performance Max, you need to be getting at least 30 conversions in a 30-day period. So for a service-based business, you're going to be starting with search. In most cases, that'll only be one search campaign. You may have a secondary search campaign, but if you're going to have a second search campaign, what you do need to think about is your budget. What you need to remember with your search campaigns, you want to be getting 30 conversions in 30 days and So really comes down to what your core conversion metrics will be. Now at the start, your conversion metrics may only be 3%, which means that you need to then have a 30x multiplier. For us, let's just say at the moment we've got a CPC of $2.50. That means we would need to have a multiplier of somewhere around 20 to 30 times. That means that a starting budget needs to be somewhere between $50 to $75 a day in order to get enough conversions. So if you are going to run more than one campaign, that's the other thing you need to think about, is that you're going to need to have more budget in order to satisfy that. The reason why I wanted to spend a bit of time here, because because unfortunately Google is pushing the brands to really start using AI Max right from the start and Performance Max right from the start. But it actually goes against what their rationales are. And, and their rationales— what you need to remember with Performance Max is that for Performance Max, it locks you into smart bidding, so maximize conversions. And you don't start maximize conversions from day one. You need to firstly build up those 30 conversions in 30 days until you've got enough data. Then from there as well, especially with lead generation, is that you need to make sure that you're reporting the right data in there. The problem with service-based businesses is if you're only dealing with phone calls and form fills, you can actually see some higher spammy calls, higher spammy leads. And in fact, if you really dive into some interviews with Google product managers, they will let you know that they wouldn't go down that Performance Max path until you've got offline conversions data heading in. So that's why for us we're saying with service-based businesses, you really want to start with search as the core. And realistically, for most service-based businesses, you won't need to start building out into Performance Max or any of those other type of campaigns until you're spending at least $5,000 to $10,000 a month anyway. So what I would say right from the start, start with search and be really, really strong with your conversion actions. And this is part of the reason for why we really recommend right in the current environment that you do need some extra help with your Google Ads campaigns. And it's why we started Google Ads Mastery. Google Ads Mastery is our private pay community where you get live support with not only me but my Google Ads coaches. And if you use the coupon YOUTUBE, you'll get an extra 20% discount. So we're going to keep the training going here, but I would absolutely love to see you inside of Google Ads Mastery. But let's keep going with the training right now. All right, so now that we've established that you want to be starting with a Google Search campaign, ideally only one search campaign, if you do need some control around your different services or different locations, yes, you can start different campaigns. And we've also spoken about how you don't want to be using your single keyword ad groups. You want to be building your ad keyword themes. I want to now talk to you about your ad copy and why you need to use strong unique selling points and strong call-to-actions. One of the big downfalls that I see with Google Ads, especially when it comes to service-based businesses— many service-based businesses will use what I call very, very boring ad copy. And the ad copy would just be things like their keyword focus, call now. And what you want to be doing is when you're creating your ads, you also want to be using emotional triggers but also some unique selling points. Once again, this is a really, really big topic. So what I am going to also do at the end of this video, I will also give you a video of where you can see more training about ad copy. But it's really important that you do use some emotional triggers. And what you want to be doing here is you really want to be going through and calling out, saying what other people can't say or won't say. As I said, at the end of this video, I will not only show you about how to structure your ad groups more, but I'll also include some extra teaching about your ad copies and how to write ad copies that convert. What I want to I want to show you a Google Sheet that we use. And this is a testing tool where through here is that we'll write out our unique selling points. And then from here, we'll start to also write out some emotional triggers. So what I want to show you in through here now, I'll just move this down a little bit further because I'll show you through this process. Our unique selling point is a private pool villa. So rather than just saying a private pool villa, what we're doing is we're trying to say that in a different way. So we've done some different scenarios like skinny dip in your own pool, no sunbed wars, it's yours, no shared pools, just yours. What we're really pulling in there is rather than just saying private pool villa, because everyone else is saying that, we're trying to say the same thing, but really communicate it to the market in a different way. And pulling out what some people hate in this case about holidays. Everyone hates, you know, wake up and run to the pool to fight over your sunbeds. And sometimes you don't want to share a pool with little kids doing bomb dives. You just want to enjoy and relax in your own pool. And that's what we're really going through sending this message in through here. Also with things like personal butler services, rather than just saying, hey, look, you get a butler. It's with this business, you get to WhatsApp your butler at any time. That'll be really, really different. Like for this business with the 99 people, what we did with this one is that they went through— is they could do a home maintenance check all in one visit. So rather than getting someone out to clean your air conditioning, clean your ceiling fans, check your pest control, and do your smoke alarms test, you can do that all through one service. This is going to be different for every different type of business, but what I just want to show you is the process that we go through. So start by writing down what the unique selling point is and and then see how you can write that in other ways. What I'd even recommend, we're even doing tools like using tools like Gemini where we'll basically just say, hey look, these are our unique selling points, can you write it in a more emotional way? All right, so now we've spoken about how you're going to be starting with search campaign and why you don't want to be starting with Performance Max or AI Max because you don't have enough data. We've also spoken about how to complete your keyword research. Then we've also gone into ad copies. Now it's time to start your Google search campaign. Alright, so now's the time that we are going to go in and we're gonna start our search campaign. I would recommend that you'd already have your keyword research ready to go and also your some ad copies that you can use. So when you're inside of Google Ads, you'll see two options. You can go through here and use this Create option, or you'll see this New Campaign button from here. Let's go up and press Create. We're going New Campaign, and then Google will just take us through the process of setting up a new campaign. Now, thing I do also want to point out, I'm gonna go through this quite quickly. If you do miss any of these steps, don't worry at all because in that description below you can get access to a product which is called Start and Scale. It's free teaching which also includes a PDF guide of how to do this, and I also have got another tutorial in there and how to go through the process a little bit slower. You can also use it to take you through the process of setting up any other types of Performance Max campaigns and other campaigns in Google, and it's also got an optimization guide for you. To get all that, go in the description below. Now Google will give you the option to choose your objective. Now we would generally go with lead I don't want you to get too caught up on this. The reason why I like selecting leads is it's just going to help as we go through this setup process. It'll just give us some extra options which are more tailored for this. We then want to go through and use our conversion actions. Now, if you've already got conversion actions set up, you can go through and remove these, and they won't remove it from your account, just from the campaign. If you don't have these set up properly yet, you can do this later. After we set up this campaign and as we go through this process, I will explain conversion tracking a little bit further because I'll also take you through some of the important settings you need to look out for. Then you go through and click search. If If you don't have any conversion actions set up yet, you can use this automated version where it's either phone calls. If you choose phone calls, you do need to make sure that that phone number that you put there is actually on your website. It needs to be the same phone number. If you want to do lead form submissions, now this has it all in the same process. So we'll just use that one from there. Then from here, we want to call it your campaign name. We're gonna call this Search, and we're gonna target this for the Australian market. When it comes to your campaign name, name. Don't get too caught up on it, but I do like to use what I call a good naming convention. You don't just want to call it Search 1 or Search 2. You want to know exactly what it is all about. So we could even change this to 1-bedroom villa, and we could say search. Once again, it just needs to be something that you know. No one else is going to be seeing it. Then we go through and click continue. Then it'll come to the bidding option. Now we've already spoken about this. We don't want to be using smart bidding at the start, and we want to start with clicks. And if you did want to set a maximum click bid limit, I generally don't do this, especially for the keyword research that we did here where we saw that the average CPC is between $0.75 to $2.50. We do have some campaigns that have a maximum CPC bid limit on it, but it's more, say for example, if they've got a really big price range. So we're working with some services where their CPC ranges from $5 up to like $70. If that's the case, we then do put a bid limit on it, remembering that we want to be generating at least 30 clicks a day. So we know for us we need our budget to be $75, but we're happy with clicks. This is going to be your first campaign, so you don't need to worry about whether you need to be targeting it on new customers. Then we want to go through and click Location if you want this to be based around suburbs or locations. What you can even do is you can add it in via a zip code or a postcode name or a city name. You can do it that way. The most important thing to remember here as well is that your location options, it will default to presence or interest. We recommend, especially for lead generation businesses and service-based businesses, that you set this to presence. So you only want people that are targeted in your current locations unless you wanna get super, super political. For most businesses, that won't be a problem. You can select no. And then when it comes to your audience, segments. I like to start a campaign with about 20 to 30 audience segments. Now let me explain the reason for this. The important thing to remember is that most people think that by adding audiences that it's targeting these audiences. It's not. It's not narrowing the reach of your campaigns. You're just getting the extra information. And this is really important because that way, later down the track, if you want to start some YouTube type campaigns or display remarketing within demand gen, We want to build this audience data up inside of your account. So what this does is it gives you the extra data. Generally what I would look at through here, if we were— I do like to use this, you know, who are they, detailed demographics, especially if you're in the home service type business. You could work out whether it's home renters or homeowners or renters. Other option as well, if you've added all of these and you're seeing that you're getting a whole heap of spend from renters and you want to exclude them, you can add them as an exclusion. That's why it's good just to get this data so that you can then make some optimizations later down the track. Also as well, you could also, um, interest and habits. It's a whole bit different things depending on whether they're a traveler or home and garden. You can do some searches to make sure it's relevant for your business. There are a couple little settings here. One thing I will just call out, if you are doing an ad schedule, so let's just say you want to be targeting phone calls, only want your ads to appear between, say for example, 8 o'clock in the morning to 6 o'clock at night, this is where you add in that schedule from there. Then we go through and click next. Going to recommend AO Max. Now the main reason why I don't recommend AO Max at the moment is, as you can see from here, it's still part of the beta program at the time of recording. This is February in 2027. I'm still not a fan of AOMAX. I'm not saying that we won't be a fan of it in the future. Just the data is we're not seeing it. The other thing is as well, Google hasn't come out and shared. So Google is saying that advertisers activate AOMAX and search campaigns will see 14% more conversions. With that is we don't know what the data, like how many impressions do you need in a month? I've asked Google repeatedly. To date, they haven't given us that data. And because it's still within the beta testing phase, it's just not something that I'd recommend. And we've done real life tests in it and it hasn't performed to what Google is saying it should be. So at the moment, don't use AOMAX and also as well, we wouldn't even be recommending this path because the first step for success with Google Ads is we want to get the core functionality of what are the best performing keywords for your business. Then we go through to next. Google will want to create this automatically. We want to skip it. The reason for that is because very much as well, we spent all that time creating some different responsive search ads, some different emotional triggers. Google won't do this automatically for you. So you need to go through, do that extra work. So what we do from here is that we've got our landing page. We copy that through here. I would add that at the top. Don't forget to name this ad group. This one is going to be our 1-bedroom villa, or you could do that around your individual services. We've also got our keywords through here, and we can paste them in through here. Now we are going to make this one our broad match, and the other ones are going to be our exact match. In that video that I said I would teach you at the, at the end, I'll give you some more explanation of why we've done it that way. But the next thing is from here is that you then need to come down and create your ad copy. Now we've already got our URL in through here, which we'll copy again, and then it's a matter of starting to put in our headlines. Now one of the reasons why we do use different variations of exact match keywords is we like to use what's called dynamic keyword insertion. And the way that you use dynamic keyword insertion is you add in a brace or squiggly bracket, go to keyword insertion, type it in through here. And what this all does is now that every keyword that we've got, it will automatically put it into the headline depending on which one triggers the ad. So you can see here it says one-bedroom semi-naked villa, and if we go across, it's changed that one to the numeric one. Then from there, it's just a matter of going through and adding some of our other headlines. Now I'm just going to do this quickly because you do need to have more than 3 in there, but we are just going to go in and add in our different headlines. Once again, you want to be spending some more time here, but we do recommend when it comes to your ad copy headlines— remember, I'm going to be showing you that video about how to write your ad copies and the 4 key elements— generally what we do with the 15 headline options is that we we do have about 5 call to actions and also about 5 emotional triggers. Then we want to go through and add in some descriptions, which I would recommend that you add in 4, but we've just got 2 for just for the purposes. And then we— I do recommend that you add in things like your site links. Now if you don't know what site links are, these are extra little bits of information that you can have at the bottom of the ad, and they can direct people to different parts of your website. So if you want to send them through your 2-bedroom villa, send them through to reviews, send them through to other services or your About Us page, you can do that through here. I also would recommend if you wanted to do things like phone calls, you can add your phone call in through there. And once again, this is where you can set up your conversion call tracking straight away. And then from there you go through and click Save. Also, it's here as well if you wanted to create another ad group. So let's just say we wanted to put in the 2-bedroom villa ad group in the same keyword or another service, that is where we'd go through and do that. We're just going to leave that blank for the moment and then we're going to go through to to next, and this is where Google will come through and give you a recommended budget. Remember, we want to be looking at generating at least 30 clicks a day. You can do more. We know for us, we just need that to be at the $75 limit. Sometimes you'll see the CPC will be a little bit different to what you saw in the Keyword Planner. You may need to adjust this, but I said we're happy with that at the moment. And then from there, it's just a matter of going through to next, and then you can go through and you'll get the option option to publish your campaign. All right, so now that you've got your campaign set up, what I want to do is I want to take you inside of a live account and I want to show you some important settings that we've got and the ones that you need to be getting right for your account. So the first thing is, remember how I said about you want to make sure that you've got AI Max turned off? Google will make it very, very easy to turn this on. Make sure that it's turned off at the start. And the other thing that you do also want to make sure is that when you have your campaign conversion settings set up, remember how I said you could go through and set up that form setting the call setting. When it comes to phone calls, what you do want to make sure— we've got our phone calls set in through here. When you go into your settings, you want to make sure that your phone calls are at least more than 30 seconds. We like this to be 60 seconds or longer. It really, really depends on what works for your business. But for this business at the moment, we've got it set at 45 seconds. And the way that I want you to think about it is you want it to be the lowest possible level that still gives you good data. So you don't want to set the bar too high, but also too, you don't want to set it too low. And that's why we start generally more than 30 seconds, somewhere between 45 seconds. For some businesses, we've got this set up to 200 seconds or more. The other thing that you want to make sure is you've got this set to one conversion action. By default, it can be set to every. The reason why you don't want it every for a lead generation business, because you're not transferring conversion data back to Google Ads, it's quite common where you can get the spammy or low-quality leads. So you want to make sure that you've got that set to 1. For service-based businesses, when it comes to Google Ads, we're going more and more down into what we call a multi-step form. What I mean by that is you can see, for example, on our website we use a Typeform. And the reason why we like that is because if it's just a simple form fill out, you can once again open it up to some spammy or bot traffic. Whereas if people have to go through a 4 or 5 step process form, not only is it giving you more information, but it's also lowering the risk of seeing some spammy me leads. Yes, you may get a less number of leads, but remember, the name of the game is quality, not just the amount of form inquiries, especially if they're low-quality forms. So they're the settings that you need to be aware of inside of your Google Ads campaigns for your new search campaigns. Make sure that you've got AO Max turned off, and also make sure you've got those conversion settings set right. Now let's talk about Performance Max and when you should be using it, and then we'll get into how to optimize your campaigns. What I want to show you in this account. And it's important to note that for this campaign, we are literally just using one campaign with one ad group. Main thing I want you to remember is that don't feel like you've got to have an overly complicated setup for this business. Just show you the overview through here. You can see from here is that we've been able to— and I'll move this to weekly. Yep, we've got weekly. We've been able to move their spend up from $150, $160 a week all the way now up to nearly $900 a week while seeing an increase in their conversions. And they're not using Performance Max or anything, just purely search. So don't feel like you have to go through and use that. When it comes for when we actually use Performance Max, there are a couple of things that we need to have in place. And I'll just show you a, a lead generation business that we do have using Performance Max. The first thing I wanna show you in through here is if we go through the last 30 days, is that this business is spending well over $5,000 a month. You can generally get up to $5,000 to $10,000 a month before you need to go down this process. And what you can see through here as well is that yes, we have a Performance Max campaign campaign. But still, when we look at the total spend in the account, Performance Max is only spending $120 off $575 a day. So Performance Max is only spending 20% of the budget. The vast majority of their spend is still in their search campaigns. And the reason for that is because we still see that we can get better results with their search campaign. Performance Max has no doubt been a real big winner for this business, but once again, especially for lead generation businesses, the main name is going to be in and around search. So to answer the question on when should you be using Performance Max for lead generation businesses. The main thing I'd be looking at is firstly, with your search campaigns for this business as well, the reason why we're not worried about moving into Performance Max yet is because when we look at our search impression share, is that this business is still only at a search impression share of 31%. We should be able to take that up to 60 to 70% before we need to move into Performance Max. So that means that we could get this budget well above the $200 a day mark before even thinking about Performance Max. And the big thing for us is that when we go the last 30 days, we're hitting 47 conversions. So potentially we could have enough data, but remember they're just doing phone calls. So with Performance Max, you only really want to be moving into Performance Max once you've got some offline conversion data. But as I said, at the moment that's not required for this business. Inside of Google Ads Mastery, we have a whole heap of training about offline conversions. I've also got some other free teaching videos on this YouTube channel if you just search offline conversions. But the main thing you want to really, really be focusing on at the start. It's focusing on your search campaigns, and then you want to go into our optimization cycle. With your optimizations, what you're really looking at— there's 4 key ways that you can optimize your account: your spending and segmentation, your targeting, and ads and landing pages, and obviously your bidding. When it comes to your spending and segmentation, what we're really looking at in through here— say, for example, for this account, very, very easy, they're only running one ad group, so one campaign— spending and segmentation is essentially going, we are seeing good results here, so we want to spend more money in this area. So it's purely about increasing the campaign budget. For other businesses where you have multiple campaigns, what we are doing, you can see through here, let's just look at these top 2 campaigns. So when we look at these top 3 search campaigns, we've got a budget of $200, $150, and $90. The reason why these budgets are different is because they've got 3 different core services, and this top core service, they're getting better results, so we've just increased the budget more. Whereas for these other 2 services, we're just not getting the same level of results. That's why we haven't increased the budget as much. So remembering, with Google Ads optimizations, the easiest way is to put more money where you're seeing the better results, and that's spending and segmentation. When it comes to targeting, it's very much around targeting your keywords, your locations, and also your audiences and demographics. Now remember how I said you can get access to Start and Scale? Inside of that training, not only does it show you how to set up those campaigns, but it also takes you through how to complete all of these tasks. So I won't go through them here because you can get free access just by following the link in the description below. And then the other thing I do want to remind you about is remembering with Google Ads, it's not just about what's happening inside of Google Ads. You also need high-converting landing pages. So the main thing to remember when it comes to optimizing your Google Ads account is to follow that process and really look for the simple wins. Remembering the simplest win you're going to get inside of Google Ads is to spend more money where you're getting the best results. So that's the exact process that we use to not only think about using your Google Ads accounts, but also how to set up and optimize your Google Ads campaigns.
