In this instructional segment, Aaron Young advises business owners running Google Ads to avoid evaluating campaign success based on daily results. He illustrates the point with a May performance snapshot, showing daily fluctuations in spend and conversions, then compares May to April, highlighting a net increase of 13 conversions, a 1% rise in conversion rate, and a $2.50 drop in cost per conversion—all achieved while scaling. Young emphasizes that especially when using automated bidding strategies like Maximize Conversions or Maximize Conversion Value, marketers should focus on week‑over‑week and month‑over‑month trends rather than isolated good or bad days, maintaining a long‑term optimization mindset.

If I could give one recommendation to any business owner who's currently running Google Ads or is a little bit worried about their Google Ads results is, is that never judge Google Ads on the previous day or even an individual day. And let me show you a perfect example. Is that what you're looking at here is the results over an individual month. So we're looking through the results of May. And as you can see from here, the, you know, the cost has ranged from $117 a day and sometimes it was peaking up to here, is it $400 a day? Then it's gone back down again the next week, down $200 a day, $200 a day, and then it's gone back up to $400 $5 a day. Same with the conversions, all over the place. You've got, you know, 2 conversions here, then it goes up to 6 conversions, then we're down to 1 conversion, and then we're up to 3.9, and then we're, and then we're up to 5 conversions. But let's now put these metrics in and then let's compare it to the previous month. So this is comparing May to April, and this is where you can see that this business, it's gone up an extra 13 conversions in a single month. Conversion rate has gone up by 1%, and the cost of conversion has actually gone down by $2.50. And they've achieved all this while they've been scaling their business. So one The thing I'm always saying to, you know, businesses and business owners running Google Ads is that I don't get too excited about a great day, and I also don't get too annoyed about a bad day. What you want to be looking at, especially when it comes to Google Ads, is always look at the trends. Don't look at it on a daily amount, especially if you're running things like Maximize Conversions or Maximize Conversion Value. And really look at not only even week on week, really zoom out and look at your month on month process and look at the month on month results, because that's where you're going to see the best results with Google Ads. Playing the long term, going through optimization process and not getting too stressed out by an individual bad day and not getting too excited about an individual good day.
