Andy Neary shows how employers and employees can use healthcare data to find the cheapest, highest-quality providers. He walks through a Colorado knee replacement example: if you could see all facilities' prices and outcome scores, you'd pick the right one instead of overpaying. He's pushing employers to get this data and consumers to demand it.

Hey, if you're a CEO, cfo, hr, professional, or just any other decision maker who's responsible for your company's health plan, I want to bring some value to you. Even if you're a consumer looking for a better health care alternative, I want to show you how easy it is to use data to drive effective decision making and to help your employees find the right care at the right time, at the right place, at the right price. Let's pretend you have an employee living in the state of Colorado that's told he or she needs to have a knee replacement right now in your current health plan. You have no way of helping them find the right care at the right facility for the right price. But imagine if you had access to data like this where you could see all of the facilities that have performed a knee replacement in the state of Colorado for the past 18 to 24 months. And imagine by looking at these red bars here, you could see the average price of the knee replacements those facilities have performed, what they're billing you and your health plan and your employee. And more importantly, with this squiggly line here, you would have access to cost and quality data and outcome scores of those knee replacements performed at each of those facilities. Do you know what would happen? You would be able to help your employees find the right care at the right price, ultimately giving them world class access to the healthcare system while you take a chunk out of your healthcare budget. Now, if you don't have access to that data, you're not getting it today. You have to find a way to get it. And if you're a consumer with coverage through your employer, tell your employer they need to get that access. And if you don't know where to turn, shoot me a message below and I'd be happy to share with you how we're helping employers drive down the cost of healthcare using data like that. And more importantly, you could even link above and click onto our July 24th webinar where you will learn how organizations are attacking musculoskeletal skeletal claims to take the financial pain out of overspending and unnecessary costs. Until then, bear down, focus on the target, and strike out the status quo. And I look forward to chatting with you soon.
