Are You VISUALIZING a WINNING Outcome?!?

Andy Neary argues that visualization shapes real outcomes, using his pitching career as proof. In high school he visualized winning and succeeded; in early college he lost confidence and failed; when he returned to confident visualization later, his performance improved. Visualize outcomes you already believe you'll win.

What you visualize has a significant impact on your outcomes. Let me give you an analogy to show you what I mean. I was looking back at my pitching career a couple days ago, and I kind of had an epiphany. My mindset had a direct correlation to the trajectory and success of my pitching career. When I was in high school, my mindset was strong. I would go into games knowing I was gonna win. In fact, there were some games depending on the competition. I just wanted to figure out how quickly I could end the game. In college, my first two years, a little different. Now I'm facing much better competition, right? And so my mindset, what I was visualizing, the outcomes I was visualizing weren't very strong, and it showed in my performance. My first two years were terrible. Fortunately, I got my mind, my visualization back on track the final two years of my college career. And again, it showed in my performance, my junior and senior seasons, and then in pro ball, my mindset, what I was visualizing. I viewed myself as average. I was watching some of the best players in the country going, man, how the heck am I going to beat them on the mound? So I ask you the same question. Whether it's personally or professionally, what kind of outcomes are you visualizing? Because they have a stronger impact on your life than you realize. Are you one who is going into situations, whether it's in business or, or in personal life, going, I know I have already won, so you go and execute on that, or are you one that's going, I don't know if I can do this feeling like I don't have it today, because that's the outcome you're going to get as well. You always have one of two choices. But where confidence and clarity collide, action happens. So my advice to you today is follow the lead that I had when I was in high school. In my latter two years in college, go into outcomes. Visualizing an outcome you know you've already won because that's the clarity you need, that's the clarity you have, and that's the confidence you need to take the action that's appropriate. So visualize positive outcomes. Take the action and know you're going to go out and win.
