Big Hairy Goals

Andy Neary argues that big goals require big actions, not waiting for the perfect moment. He pushes you to start now instead of planning endlessly. The gap between what you want and what you're doing needs to close.

Big, hairy goals require big, hairy actions. Come on, where is your head? Listen, it is January 11th. We are officially well into the new year. Where are you? The year is already blasted off. It's waiting for you to arrive. But you have got to get your head out of 2020 if you're gonna set big, lofty goals this year. My question is, are they backed up with big, lofty actions? I've talked to several insurance producers already this year who have big, lofty sales goals, but I'm not so sure it's backed up with big, lofty actions. You know, they tell me they need help, they need coaching, they need to invest in more time, more team, more technology. But when it comes to actually making the decision when the rubber meets the road, that's when the when I syndrome comes in. Yes. No, no, no. I'm going to take that action, Andy. When I write those five new accounts, I'm going to take that action when I have more time or more money. Here's the problem. When I check back in with them three, four months from now, you know what will have changed? Not much. They're still going to be in the same spot, not winning the business, not taking action. And then they're going to reset the when I expectation for another three or four months. And all of a sudden, 10, 12 months from now, no action, no goals. The same frustration they have today. So what are you waiting for? If you want to play big this year, you have to walk big. Take big actions. Let the universe know you mean business. So don't wait for that when I moment, it is never coming. Take action today. I promise you won't regret any decision you make. Because if you just keep plowing forward, the universe will give you what you want. Let's go make that happen today. Let's go.
