Welcome back to Striking out the Status Quo. So over an awesome weekend dinner, Amy and I found ourselves in a really interesting conversation about the dinner table which led to a thought provoking question in life. Who do you want sitting at your dinner table and who's actually sitting at that table today? Who are you surrounding yourself with? Who is in your tribe? Are they lifting you up? Are they dragging you down? If you think about the role the dinner table serves, it's a congregator of community, bringing people together to engage in enlightening and thought provoking conversation. Yet far too many people use those precious minutes staring at an iPad or an iPhone, not even conversing, or worse yet, focused on complaints and gossip. Are you guilty? I know I am. So instead of burying your nose in technology or commiserating about that day's failings, use those minutes at dinner to talk about what went right, what did you do right? What are you grateful for? And how are you going to make tomorrow even better than today? Here's what I want you to do. Take a couple minutes and think about who are the four or five people you would love to have at your dinner table that are going to make you a better person when you get up from the table than when you sat down and share who those four or five people are in the message below. Because when you break bread with the right people, I promise you, you will start breaking the habits that are preventing you from achieving greatness. Take till next time. Bear down, focus on the target and strike out the status quo.
