From rodeo team doctor to ortho surgeon. Check out my convo with MD Ortho đŸ‘‡.

In this interview segment, Andy Neary asks the guest, a former team doctor for professional rodeo cowboys, about the injuries he treated. The guest explains that he volunteered at rodeos for years, assisting riders who were stepped on by bulls or thrown off broncs, handling numerous broken bones and other serious injuries. He mentions that, due to HIPAA, he cannot name the legendary cowboys he treated. He also recounts a dramatic emergency when a spectator in the stands suffered a heart attack; the guest and the medical squad rushed upstairs and performed chest compressions before transporting the person to the ER. The conversation highlights the unique medical challenges of rodeo sports and the guest’s experience transitioning toward orthopedic surgery.
