A short YouTube talk by Andy Neary (part 3 of a mindset series) urging viewers to take proactive action on health insurance rather than waiting for annual renewals. Using an analogy to acting on a future medical diagnosis, Neary advises establishing documented strategies now and shifting from a reactive one-year cycle to a planned two-to-three year game plan so you can influence the next renewal and avoid large cost increases.

Welcome back to Striking out the status quo, where your health plan is just one mindset shift away from greatness. Alright, here we are, part three of the Mindset series. Today we're talking about taking action. Now, suppose your doctor tells you that one year from now you will be diagnosed with a major medical condition. If you don't do anything about it today, what would you do? Would you ignore his or her advice and wait till you get diagnosed? Or would you take action today and make the appropriate changes so you can avoid hearing the bad news in 12 months? My guess is you'd choose the latter. In fact, not taking action would almost seem silly right now. Let's take that same scenario and play it out in a different part of your world. In your business with your health insurance cost. Suppose you were told that one year from now you will receive a drastic increase to your health insurance cost. If you don't take action today, what would you do? My guess is you take action today. But is that what you're doing most of the time? You're waiting until you get the renewal. You're waiting until you get diagnosed to take action and by then it's too late. So here's the mindset shift I want you to make today. Whether your health insurance plan just renewed or it's still months away, don't wait. Take action today. Get a plan in place, get a strategy in place, get it documented, take the appropriate steps so you can predictably impact the next renewal you have. Get off the repeating one year strategy and and get onto a long term two to three year game plan. Because if you wait, it's too late. You're gonna receive the bad news in 12 months. However, today's planning will only lead to tomorrow's happy insurance renewal. So start planning today, impact that renewal tomorrow. Until next time, bear down, focus on the target, strike out the status quo.
