Lemme share a little example of why social media matters and why you need to be producing LinkedIn content. We just had a client present or participate in a finalist presentation, and unbeknownst to Tom, our client, the president of the prospective company did not show up for the finalist meeting. So Tom presented and he left pretty skeptical because the decision maker wasn't there. But here's what happened. The president looked at all 3 finalists, and looked at all three of their LinkedIn profiles to see who he was going to choose, and here's what he found. First one didn't even have a profile picture. Shh, he's out. Second one, all his content was self-serving. It talked about how great he was and how great his company was, which annoyed the president. Our client, Tom, his content was value-driven. In fact, a post he made that talked about why he supports local businesses really resonated with the president. And guess what? Who do you think won? Yeah. When you create LinkedIn content that's driven for your prospects to deliver value for your prospects, it matters. They may not like the content, they may not comment on the content, but it matters. So if you are not producing social media content as part of your prospecting strategy right now, you are missing a big opportunity. You're actually hurting your sales. So what can you do today to start creating more content, showing up on business platforms like LinkedIn and YouTube, and deliver value to your prospective buyers? Because you don't think it matters, but they're looking and they're using it to vet you and your credibility to determine whether or not they're going to hire you. It matters.
