The VP of Benefits at Albertsons said salespeople can't reach her by phone or email, but will notice valuable LinkedIn content. Traditional sales leaders dismissed this as unrealistic, but the real shift is that buyers now pay attention to content, not cold outreach.

I had made a post, I shared a video from a woman who is the VP of benefits at Albertson Groceries, so Fortune 500 company, and she had posted a video on LinkedIn that said, Listen, if you want my attention and you're trying to sell me something right now, the odds of you getting my attention by calling me or sending me an email are extremely low. But if you put out content on LinkedIn that I find valuable, you have given yourself the best chance to get my attention. That's basically what she said. And I put that out, I shared it and I said, I hope every sales leader of every agency in this industry hears this. I still got pushback on, really, from sales leaders and people in the industry that said, must be nice that she has enough time to look at LinkedIn but not enough time to go in her inbox. Yeah. And I was like, you obviously missed what she said. You missed the point. But you're so bought into how you used to do it, you are unwilling to even consider there is a different way to prospect today. And that, I would say is a challenge at large in the industry is I think we're still very proud of the way we did it in the 90s. Not understanding our buyers. Attention has shifted.
