KNOWLEDGE is Not Power ... the Ability to COMMUNICATE Is!

Andy Neary argues that knowledge alone doesn't matter. The real power is communicating what you know. Scientists stay unknown because they can't explain their work; insurance advisors fail despite deep expertise. Study communication and buyer psychology instead.

Knowledge is power. It's a phrase you hear often these days, and I couldn't disagree more. Is knowledge helpful? Absolutely. Is it required? You bet. But that's not what is powerful. It's the ability to communicate that knowledge. That's the power. Listen, if knowledge was the power, you and I would know every scientist and physicist in this world today. They'd be rock stars. Why? Because you and I could agree they're some of the most smartest and knowledgeable people we have on the planet. And. But why do we know so few of them? Because they can't communicate that knowledge they have. Here's another great example. I'm in the insurance industry. And if I were to ask most insurance advisors right now, what books are you reading, what magazines are you reading, what podcasts you're listening to, I'm willing to bet it's something to do with industry knowledge. Why? Because you think the more knowledge you have, the smarter you're going to be, the more wins you're going to put on the board.
It's the ability to communicate that knowledge you have that matters the most. So whatever your industry you're in right now, if communication is a requirement for you to win, to grow your business, to grow your career, do me a favor and start digesting content around communication. Start digesting content around marketing. Start digesting content around how people think and buy. You'll do yourself a huge favor, and I promise you, you'll put a hell of a lot more wins on the board than you are today. So let me know what you think you agree you disag. Is knowledge the power or is it the ability to communicate that knowledge that matters most?
