Please Start Investing In Yourself

Andy Neary tells insurance producers to stop treating courses, coaching, and conferences as expenses and start treating them as investments. Doctors spend $200k to $300k on education for long-term payoff. You need the same patience: measure ROI over one, three, and five years, not immediately.

Is it an investment or is it a purchase? Huh? When it comes to growing your insurance career, growing your insurance agency, do you view the monetary decisions you make as purchases or investments? Hmm? What's the difference? Well, here's a purchase. You buy that course, the coaching, you attend the conference, you attend the webinar, you attend the mastermind, and you think it's going to create instant results. That's a purchase. You want the quick hit, the silver bullet. I see this far too often in the insurance industry. It's why you're so quick to buy cold calling services. It creates instant roi. A meeting or not a meeting. But I see far too many producers get upset because, Andy, I held a webinar, and I have no idea why it didn't lead to five Agents of record letters. I have no idea. Andy, we hired you coaching. But I'm not selling $100,000 accounts after one week. Why isn't the coaching working? Hmm? Because those are all investments. If you want to win long term, you got to look at it like an investment. Why do you think doctors are willing to go 2 to $300,000 in debt knowing that they won't pay it off for 10 years? Because they know what's waiting for them at the end of the rainbow. And you need to go after growing your career with the same mentality. Those purchases you're making today, are they going to pay dividends off tomorrow? Probably not. But, man, one year, three years, five years from now, you will be blown away by. By how far your career has gone, by the massive success you're having, and by what your business looks like. So my advice for you today is please stop making your decisions like a purchase. Start viewing them like investments. Your future, your happiness, your bottom line will thank you.
