Talk to Your Prospects Not Your Peers

Andy Neary argues you should post social media content for prospects, not peers. Cycling photos and music interests build real rapport with buyers. Posts that bash healthcare get engagement from colleagues but won't drive business.
Why do I post pictures of me cycling once in a while in the mountains of Colorado? Because I know there's brokers out there who are also cyclists. The second they see that post, they go, this Andy dude's just like me. Now we're that step closer. You talk about some of the stuff you're doing.
People that also resonate with that. We talked about one of your favorite bands, Tool. Oh, yeah. Anybody didn't know? Spencer's a huge Tool fan. And I feel like we have to wedge Tool into every podcast at this point. We need like a quick break. Breaks. We can play some tool music. No, but imagine there's a broker out there that you're trying to get get plan site in front of who's not. Who's also a huge tool head. Well, you two just got that much closer by you making that one post. And so content creation to me is not. And now let me give you the other side, Spencer, if I may. Look at how many agencies in our industry or brokers. Here's the. What do I call it? The worst practices. So many of our peers go on LinkedIn and all they do is share content that bashes the healthcare system, bashes health insurance companies, and what is it for? It's to get reactions out of their buddies. Great. You got 100 likes and 80 comments. Is it actually driving business? I bet you it's not. Because you're not talking to your prospects. Your peers are not your prospects.
And I see agencies. We talked about this. Who post after post after post. It's just continuous content around. This is why our clients love working with us. Nobody cares. Yeah. Start acting human and sharing human related content and your prospects will come to you.
