The 4 Cs of SUCCESS In Business and Life [Friday Bullpen Sessions Episode 32]

Andy Neary (Friday Bullpen Sessions, episode 32) presents a short spoken YouTube episode framing four core qualities—calm, confidence, clarity, and consistency—as essential for success in business and life. He opens by announcing the new "Complete Game Mastermind" (a five-month coaching/community/accountability program for sales professionals and business owners), tells a personal anecdote about meeting pitcher Greg Maddux, and uses Maddux and Mariano Rivera as exemplars of the four Cs. He then maps the four Cs to personal-brand tactics (define brand clarity; create content across categories: personal stories, teaching, case studies, credibility, testimonials, calls to action) and urges consistent content output despite the COVID-19 environment (episode airing referenced as June 26).

Hey. Hey. It is Friday. You know what that means? It is time for Friday Bullpen sessions. My name is Andy Neary and this is episode 32. Today we're gonna talk all things C. Yes, the letter C. You are gonna learn the four Cs you need right now to grow your brand. The four Cs you need to live the life you want to live given the current environment. Now, before we dive into all things letter C, I want to talk about another letter C. And that is community. I am excited to announce the launch of the Complete Game Mastermind. Hey, another C. This is something you've been asking for. If you are in sales, you own a business and you have to grow it. You have to sell something, whether it's a product or services. You know how tough it is right now. It is so tough to stand out. There are more competitors than there have ever been going after the same business. And if you are not standing out, you are irrelevant to your prospects. And this is what I have built this Mastermind for. For sales professionals, business owners that are looking to grow their brand, grow their revenue, grow their life, grow their impact. You see, this thing is built on three pillars. Number one, coaching, another C. Number two, community. You need to be surrounded by other high level thinkers who are going to challenge you. And number three, it's accountability. You're going to be held accountable over this five month mastermind to accomplish the goals you know you're capable of. So if you want to learn more about the Complete Game Mastermind you think it's for you, go to the link below in the show notes. Learn more. Let's schedule a call to see if Complete Game is a fit for you. All right, back to this week's episode. So let's talk about the four Cs today. Now, what inspired me to want to talk about this topic was thinking about two of my favorite pitchers of all time. Two pitchers in Major League Baseball who one, I feel are both two of the greatest pitchers we've ever seen. Number two, both have influenced me in how I approached my game on the mound when I was pitching. And they're just, they represent good human beings. I think that's what I actually love about them the most. Who are these pitchers? They are Mariano Rivera and Greg Maddox. And when I think about those two, I think about how long they pitched at such a high level. In fact, funny side story, I do have to share this. So last year, Amy and I were down in Maui enjoying a week of vacation and we were staying at a resort in The Wailea area. And I'll never forget that entire three or four days we were at that resort. I kept telling Amy that I thought I was spotting all these celebrities, these athletes, and I was so off with my view of who these people were. They were not celebrities. They were people who looked like them. But. But last day, we were at the resort, Amy and I were sitting in the pool, just chatting, relaxing, enjoying the sun. And I looked over, about five chairs down, I noticed this individual who looked very familiar. And I'm like, oh, my Lord, Amy, that's Greg Maddox. She said, okay, you have been telling me for three days you're seeing all these celebrities, all these athletes, whatever. So I got up out of the pool, I walked over, and I said, hey, man, I don't want to make a scene. I want to keep this quiet. But you, Greg Maddox, he's like, yeah, I am. I'm like, awesome. I thanked him. I let him know how much he inspired me in my pitching career. And here was the best thing. Here was the man, one of the greatest pitchers the game has ever seen, sitting in a reclining chair at a pool in Maui in Batman swim shorts and a Superman T shirt. Greg Maddux, if you're listening in, that was awesome. Now let's go back to what Greg Maddox and And Mariano Rivera have in common. Think about these two guys, especially think about Mariano Rivera for a second. The man was a closer. He came in the ninth inning. Some of the tightest situations a pitcher could ask to be put in. You have to have a different mindset. Think about game seven of the World Series. Here you come in to close the game. Might be game one, might be game three. It might be for the World Series win. And this is where the four Cs come in. If you were to go back and watch a video, Mariano Rivera or Greg Maddux, here is what you are going to see most often. Number one, calm. These guys were some of the most calm pitchers I have ever watched. It could be the tightest situations. Both of them have pitched in monumental games, whether it's in the World Series, Game 7, All Star Games, you name it. And they were always completely calm.
The second thing I think about when I look at those two pitchers is confidence.
When those guys took the mound, they knew exactly what their job was. They were 100% confident in their ability to complete that job successfully. And they just went out and did their thing day in and day out. So they were calm, they were confident, and this led to clarity. These guys were clear. They Knew exactly what they were out to do. Greg Maddux, he wasn't overpowering. He completely, completely frustrated batters because the man threw about 87, 88 miles an hour, and you had no ability to hit his pitch. He put it wherever he want. Same with Mariano Rivera. The man had one pitch and he was unhittable. You talk about clarity, knowing exactly who. Who you are and what you're about to do, what you're there to do. And then the last C I think about, when I think about these two guys is consistency.
Again, because they put in all that work off the field, it allowed them to show up day after day after day after day, year after year after year. Greg Maddox and Marian Rivera were not flashes in the pan. These guys had extended success for many, many years. So if you think about those four Cs, calm, confidence, clarity, consistency. I'm telling you right now, this is what you need to be successful today.
This episode is airing on June 26th. Right? We're still in the middle of this COVID pandemic. We have tension everywhere in this world. If you're going to be successful from here on out, you need to be calm. Don't let the current environment overpower you. You also need to be confident. You know, you have the ability to be successful in whatever endeavor it is you are partaking in right now. You have to have clarity. What's your goal? Where are you headed? What's the roadmap that's going to get you there? And most of all, you need to be consistent. There's too many people in the world today that want overnight success. They're not willing to show up and be consistent. Every day they try something for a week, it doesn't work, and they give up. Not you. Not now. Show up, be consistent every day. I promise you, if you remain calm, you remain confident, you have clarity, and then you just show up consistently every single day, you will be the success you know you're capable of being. Now, how the heck does this apply to your brand?
How can you apply those four Cs to grow your brand today? Well, let's dive in that a little bit. Number one, it starts with clarity.
Do you even know what your brand is? Do you even know how you want to show up for your audience? I want you to picture this and think about this. If you weren't in the room and there was a group of people talking about you, do you even know what you'd want them to say? Do you know what your personal brand is? So step number one, in creating massive brand awareness so you can grow your business is you have to be clear about what your brand is.
Number two, it's a different see content. Are you creating content to create awareness? Listen, I said it earlier in this podcast. If you are not putting yourself out there right now, if you are not sharing your message, you are irrelevant to your prospects. You need to be creating content. Whether it's written, whether it's audio, whether it's video, whether it's on your website, through webinars, through. Through podcast interviews, you have to create content.
And number three.
You have to have content that crosses all categories. You can't just create one type of content. What do I mean by content categories? Well, let's walk through those for a second. Number one, are you sharing personal stories in your content, whether it's video, written or in a blog? Are you letting the world get to know who you are? Are you using your personal story to teach lessons to your target audience? Number two, are you teaching? Are you creating content that is purely educational? There are so many right now who just want to create content to get people to buy something or you won't even share any educational content with people until they hire you. That is not going to win anymore. I promise you, the person who puts him or herself out there the most and teaches the most today will win here on moving forward. So you have content that's around personal stories, you have educational content. How about case studies? Are you sharing case studies with your target prospects to prove you know what you're doing?
How about testimonials? Are you sharing testimonials from happy clients that prove you know how to create the blueprint, the roadmap to take somebody from who they are today to that successful destination they want to get to?
How about authority? How about credibility? Are you posting content that proves you know what you're doing? Were you featured on a podcast? Were you featured in a magazine? Were you awarded some nomination for some award that proves you are an expert in your field? Share that with your target audience. And then last but certainly not least, you have to have calls to action. Yes, once in a while you do have to get people or ask people to buy from you or schedule a call from you or with you? Now, not every piece of content you post should be a call to action. I know some will disagree with me when I say that. But some of your content, whether it's the personal stories or the education, should just be purely to teach and resonate with your audience. So think about those categories. Personal stories, education Case studies, credibility and authority, testimonials and calls to action. If your content crosses those categories throughout each day, every week, you are going to create more awareness of who you are, what you do and how you do it. And your target prospects are going to start reaching out to you more often. And last C, last C. So we have clarity of your brand. Who the heck is you? Who the heck are you? What is your brand? You have to create content. You have to post and create content across multiple categories. The last C is consistency. Yep. Just like the four Cs to have success today in life, consistency is the key to creating brand awareness. How often are you showing up? Are you putting content out there? Every day.
I get it. It's not easy. It seems time consuming. I have people tell me all the time, andy, you are posting way too much content. Well, you know what? You're not forgetting me, are you? I'm top of mind all the time. It's creating that awareness. It's creating opportunities and you need to do the same.
So if you are going to create brand awareness today, number one, you need to have that clarity around your brand. Who the heck are you and how are you showing up every day and how do you want your target audience to see you? Number two, you must create content and then you must create content across multiple categories. And last but certainly not least, you have to just be consistent with that content. And again, if you're struggling out there today, whether it's you've lost your job, you're not in a career you want to be in right now, or you have marital issues, whatever. Listen, this is a tough time. Use the first four C's I taught you that. I learned from watching Greg Maddox and Mariano Rivera. Number one, be calm. It's going to be okay. Take a breath. Pause. Number two, get confident. You know you're good. You know you can achieve success in life today. Number three, get clarity around where you're going. What is your goal? What is your dream? What is that destination for you? Start creating that roadmap to get there. And then number four, just be consistent. There are no overnight successes. It's a fiction. It's, it's. Anybody telling you that you can be an overnight success is selling you a hack. It doesn't exist. Just show up and be consistent every single day. So I hope that helps. Whether it's you focused on growing your brand right now or, hey, you're just in a position, a tough spot in life and you need to get out of that hole. Use the four C'S. To help you dig out, to help you accelerate your life and and to help you live the life and grow the brand you know you're capable of. So I hope that helps. And again, last please if you are finding these episodes to be impactful, whether it's the Friday Bullpen session or the Tuesday interviews, do me a favor, go and subscribe. Give it a five star rating. And if you know anybody who would find these podcast interviews to be impactful as well, please share this with them. I'd be grateful if you did. And until next week, go out. Live the life you want. Grow the brand you know you're capable of. Because you know what happens when clarity and confidence collide. Action happens. Go make it happen today.
