The 5 Most Important Questions You Need to Ask Every Day [Friday Bullpen Sessions Episode 10]

A short YouTube monologue by Andy Neary presenting five daily self-reflection questions that guided his personal turnaround. He introduces his low point, then lists and explains: (1) who you are hanging around (tribe), (2) how you care for your mind and body, (3) whether you maximize daily productivity (plan the night before), (4) how you invest in yourself (time and money), and (5) whether you put these practices into action. The piece closes with a recap and a call-to-action to share and apply the five questions.

Good morning. It is Friday, so you know what that means. It is time for Friday bullpen sessions. My name is Andy Neary, and this is episode nine. Today I want to talk to you about the five questions you need to be asking yourself every single day. These are five questions that have had a huge impact on my life. I started asking myself these five questions at a time that I was an extremely low point in my life about 10 years ago. I did not enjoy my job. I was hanging around the wrong people. I wasn't in a relationship, and I was seeking external pleasures, external hobbies that I thought would bring me happiness. But at the end of the day, what I was realizing is, inside, I was not a happy person. But when I started asking myself these five questions, things changed. I created a new path for myself. And I am excited to say it's because I'm here today, the person I am today, because of these five questions that I have asked myself continuously and day after day, year after year. So I thought they might be helpful for you no matter where you are in your business or your life right now. The first question, who you hanging around? Who's in your tribe? You see, at that point in my life, I was hanging around the wrong people. And you need to be asking yourself the same question. Who are you hanging around? We all know the phrase, you are the average of the five people that you spend the most time with. Who are they? Are they lifting you up? Are they encouraging you to grow? Are they encouraging you to go after your dreams? What are you? Or are they dragging you down? Are they trying to tell you and give you all the reasons you shouldn't be doing the things you want to do? Now, the tough question here, the tough part of this question is this. Some of those people might be close friends of yours, childhood friends. They might even be family. But you need to ask yourself that tough question. Who is in your tribe? Who are you hanging around? Second question, how are you taking care of yourself? Are you taking care of your mind and your body every single day? Back then, I was taking care of my body. I always have. But I realized I wasn't taking care of my mind. I wasn't happy mentally. You need to be asking yourself the same thing. I know you're out there crushing business. You're grinding away, but are you also taking care of your mind and body? The health of your business is only as much as your own health. So you need to focus on taking care of your mind and body every single day. Third question. Are you maximizing your production every day or are you just showing up to work and then figuring out what you're gonna do? Listen, the perfect day starts the night before. You have got to be planning your days the night before so you can wake up and just get after it. If you're just waking up and letting your days own you, you're never going to win. You have to own every single day. So this third question is, are you being productive? Are you maximizing production every single day? Which leads me to my fourth question. How are you investing in yourself? I see so many people in business today try to pick other people's brains on their way to success. Listen, nothing comes for free. You have to invest the time and the money in investing in yourself. It's the best investment you can make. It's better than bonds, stocks and mutual funds. You have to invest in your own growth. And now the final question, which I think is the most important question of them all. I know you know all the things I just asked you. I know you know all about them, but are you actually putting them into action? I hear people say all the time, yes, Andy, I already know that stuff. I know I should be hanging around the right people. I know I should be investing myself. I know I should eat right and exercise, but are you actually doing it?
That is the key to the success. Guys, I can sit here and tell you all the questions you should be asking yourself, but if you're not putting them into action, you're not going to get anywhere. You're not going to be growing. So I hope these questions helped you out. In review again, number one, who is in your tribe? Who are you hanging around? Number two, are you taking care of your mind and your body every single day? Question number three, what are you doing to maximize your productivity every single day? Number four, are you investing in yourself in both the time and the money to grow your business and grow your life? And the fifth question is, yes, I know you know that already, but are you actually putting it into action? These five questions have been an extremely impactful list of questions in my life for the last 10 years. I hope they are for you wherever you are in business and in life. And if you know anybody who you think might benefit from these five questions, please do me a favor, share this little audio with them. I'd be grateful if you did. And again, go out, use those five questions. Ask yourself those questions every single day and make sure, most importantly, you take action.
